Does not fit for larger ears
I am going to give these a good review, but they are not for me.Why are they not for me? The ear size. my ears are about 3.5 inches tall. The inside of the ear muff is about 2.8 inches, while my ears are about 3.15 inches. So while the tip of my ear will fit it, the bottom, the tragus does not. i can fold it under to fit it, but that is not comfortable. So I cannot talk to long term for others. The muffs are foam and the hard part of the inner speaker and microphones are about about 3/8" inch from where you ear might fit into it. Take this with a grain of salt, because you ear might hit it and make it uncomfortable. Since I have tried the Bose and the Sony and some others, they all have these problems, so more than others. The Sony's have much less space, i feel. So before ordering these, you might check your ear size. The pads are about 2 inches, or slightly less, wide at the middle of the ear.I decide to try and use these with a loud fan. The loudest fan i know of in my house is in the bathroom. It sounds like a freight train. I went in there and shut the door and turned on the fan. When i turned on the ANC it turned into a whisper. However, it was still there. I flushed the toliet and could not hear the flush. I turned on the water faucet and could not hear the water running. Maybe the fan noise might have been from not having a great seal on the ears.Next i tried it my automobile, which is very loud. Older car which someone has stolen the catalytic converter from, so it rumbles. No air conditioner, so I have to roll down the windows. I applied the ANC, and could not hear anything. When driving no wind noise. I turned on the air blower, which is loud, could not hear it. Maybe this might work on an airplane? When i turned on any music, no background sound at all.When i tried it with transparency, I noticed that the sounds were actually amplied a bit. Conversed with my wife in the noisy environment, and her voice was louder than anything else. A feature? But you can hear everything, and are more aware of noises.I turned back on ANC and tried music again. It was wonderful.. Full featured, and no noisy background. The voices were terrrific on music, so I turned to podcasts. Wow. Makes them outstanding and easy to listen to and really understand what they are say.The bluetooth hooked easliy on my android samsung ultra 23 and never lost contact. Driving everywhere, going up and down stairs, listening to my cell from a couple or rooms away, no problem. However, they would not connect to my 52" ONN tv. no luck. could not even find how to hook it to this. Nor my computer. The bluetooth found the headsets, connected, but it would not produce any sound. I am using linux mint, so the codes might exist for this. Don't know, and did not want to try further. It did connect to my ONN streaming device with no problems and sounded great.I did not try the direct usage of them with a cable.I do recommend this for the price, but I must return them. They are very good headphones. Just a shade under the Sonys or the Bose. But like most manufacturers, they do not really say what size ear these are meant for. If you are average, great. Probably fits well. But if you are larger like me, 6'3" with larger ears, probably not. I return them with reluctance, because they are nice. At this price they are a great buy, unless you want to spend at least twice or three times as much. But will not solve the ear size issue.I do not understand why the manufacturers will not make larger pads or the individuals. It would be easy. Maybe some third party could do it and oversize them.
