Al menos parece adecuado para la necesidad de mi hogar. Lo único que pudiera parecer una falla es la alarma no suena inmediato las puertas se abren, sino que se tarda un minuto para comenzar a sonar, y ese tiempo me parece suficiente para que el ladrón pueda desactivar el sistema 🙄Ver másVer menos

On phone with ADT over an hour and a half trying to set up
I have had an ADT security system in my home(s) since 1985, OVER 40 YEARS. The first one I had for 10 years at my first address, the second one I had for 10 years at my second address, and then the one I have now over 20 years at my present address. The present one worked fine until I disconnected my landline phone. I continued to use it as a self-monitoring system, until batteries started dying in sensors and I couldn’t figure out which ones. Anyway, I bought this system to replace my current system. This unit does not come with installation instructions; you must set up an account with ADT+ first. I could not set it up because kept getting message I had an INVALID EMAIL. I called ADT and was on the phone with them for over an hour and a half, and they could not help me. So, I am returning it. I would have kept this had I just been able to set it up.Ver másVer menos

It just works!
This system is designed for novice tech people, no need for a professional technician to install it, just as advertised! The whole process to setup the base, install 7 door/window sensors and install the motion detector took about 30 min. Sign up for the professional monitoring since it’s affordable and it’s the whole reason behind opting for ADT.Definitely recommend it!Ver másVer menos

Home security with an industry leader.
This is a way to get started with ADT security. It has two door/window sensors and a motion sensor. You would mount a door/window sensor on a door or window and it would detect movement. The motion sensor goes on the wall or ceiliing within the house, maybe in a hallway, to detect motion there.There is also an available sensor (not included in this kit) that detects the sound of breaking glass.Setup is pretty easy. You locate the base unit in easy communication range of your wifi router (you must have a wifi router to use this set) and pair it, using your wifi password to connect through the ADT app. It's similar to other devices I've set to work with my router. Alternatively you could choose professional installation, but that would require a fee for the installer to drive to your home, as well as for the setup work. You can do it yourself, and online help via chat is easily available to resolve any difficulties. Customer support is a strong point with ADT.Then you install all your sensors -- in the case of this kit, the door/window sensors and the motion sensor, and register them with the base station using the app.You can either buy or rent this equipment. According to an AI query, renting it would cost about $10 per month, so you get about a 2 year payback period by buying it. If you want ADT to monitor the system, that is an additional monthly charge, and if you want it professionally installed, that makes the monthly charge a few dollars higher.This new ADT system is not compatible with third party cameras. You would have to buy and add ADT cameras, if you want cameras in the system. Cameras cost from about $100 to 300 apiece depending on type of camera, and then you would want the video monitoring plan which is slightly more expensive than monitoring only non-camera sensors.It seems to me that this starter system is mostly a system for monitoring while you are away from home. You wouldn't want the motion camera on during the day while your family is moving around the house, or a door sensor. Adding cameras (indoor, doorbell and outdoor cameras) makes it more useful when you are home. That would require a significant additional investment.I have not sampled the professional monitoring service, but I am sure it's good quality. If I depended on such a service, I would feel safest with an established company like ADT doing the monitoring. And I believe ADT monitoring is available only for ADT systems.Setting up an ADT security system is not inexpensive, but it could be a very good investment for you. You can save quite a bit of money by setting it up yourself and self-monitoring, but still the equipment investment is substantial. I almost gave this set five stars, but the incompatibility with my existing cameras left me at four.

A Solid Starting Point for Home Security
I like the concept of this ADT Blu starter kit because it gives you the simplicity of a DIY security system while still offering the option of professional monitoring. The kit comes with a base hub, three door/window sensors, and a motion sensor, which is enough to cover the basics in a smaller home or apartment. Everything feels fairly straightforward to install without having to run wires or make this into a major home improvement project.The ADT+ app makes it convenient to arm and disarm the system remotely and receive alerts when one of the sensors is triggered. I also appreciate that the system isn't locked into one configuration. You can start with the included sensors and add cameras, additional sensors, and other components later if you decide you want more coverage.The main thing to understand before buying is that the included monitoring is only free for 30 days, after which you'll need to choose a paid month-to-month plan if you want to continue using the monitoring services. There is no long-term contract, which makes that easier to swallow, but it's still an ongoing expense worth factoring into the purchase. As a starter system, though, this offers a good combination of recognizable ADT security, DIY installation, and room to expand.Ver másVer menos

Easy to Install, Good Starting Point
I installed this in a small home where I wanted basic security without running wires everywhere. The sensors paired without much trouble, and getting everything mounted took less time than I expected.The door and window sensors responded consistently during testing, and the motion detector covered the main living area well. Using the app to check the system or arm it before leaving was straightforward enough that I wasn't fumbling through menus.This is definitely a starter kit, so larger homes will probably need additional sensors depending on how many doors and windows you want to cover. It's enough to get a system up and running, but you may end up expanding it over time.After living with it for a while, it's become part of the routine. Arm it when leaving, disarm it when getting home, and otherwise it just stays in the background doing what it's supposed to do.Ver másVer menos
