Its secretly a 285k thats alot cheaper and optimized.
This is problaby the cheapest high end cpu ive ever bought from intel. it work surprisingly well and actually out performs the 285k in some cases. it hammer thoughs handbrake h264 encodes premier pro is snappy and blender is smooth as silk.my only complaint is it surprisingly runs hotter than the 14900k using a noctura NH-D15 G2. but it could be the thermal compound i used mixture is faulty. its still with in spec (93 to 97c). 14900k was 84c. both cpus were not overclocked.its totally worth it for the price! i dont use my computer for gaming so if you plan to do that you might want to go with a amd cpu instead if you are wanting the absolute best performance in gaming.Ver másVer menos

Matches 9800x3d For VR Use
I came from a dying 14700k which was replacing a 13700k, both of which were bought with in the last 2yrs that says a lot for the 13‐14000 series.My PC is solely used for Simracing in VR running a 4k per eye resolution headsets and 144hz monitors and the CPUs were paired with a Gigabyte Gaming OC 5090. There are many side applications running at the same time as the main sim title LMU and a typical session is about 1 - 2 hrs long, needless to say the demand on the PC is high. The CPU/ GPU has always been water cooled with temps staying in the mid to low 40s during game play.I've been running the 270k Plus for about a month now and have seen a very noticeable uplift in performance measured not solely by FPS but by being able to turn up in game values to high and Ultra while still hitting 87 - 90 FPS on a Pimax Crystal Super 50ppd. All the while keeping the headset values at 3560 x 3560ppd with a smooth stutter free image, 25 cars visible during a session. I have pushed it higher and gotten a smooth image, but at this resolution everything is super clear and CPU/GPU timings area under 9 which is more than good for VR.I went with the 270k Plus over switching to AMDs 9800x3d purely on a cost value. I already had DDR5 ram in the previous setup with the 14700k so I only needed a motherboard to use the 270k Plus and I went with an Asus z890 Maximus Hero. This was a savings of $1000 by sticking with intel considering I would have needed new ram and a new AMD motherboard and an AMD compatible waterblock as well as the AMD CPU which CPU alone was $170 more expensive than the 270k.I am sure the 9800x3d would have given a few frames more, but in all the reviews I found it would have been only 3 - 5 more frames which didn't justify an additional $1000 to make the switch and the performance I get with the 270k is just right for my needs, which when considering what I am trying to push I can't see anyone really needing much more.Only time will tell if the 270k holds up or fails like the previous Gen CPUs did for me but at current cost I'd go with the 270k again.Ver másVer menos

amazing cpu
Have been using since release, and it's been stable and performant. Was using 13900k before this and it does some things better than that, and the price beats all of its competitors.

Impressions after a couple months of use.
As advertised and talked about by benchmarkers. The processor delivers well in multitasking and rendering. Installs just like any other processor and has good stability with OC profiles. Uses Asus new AI OC tuning for live over locking based on load. When working on 3d models or rendering objects the processor quick clocks high to meet demand averaging 5.5k Mhz. When idling with just music playing it has gone as low as 3.8k Mhz.Definitely want a good cooler with this processor. Dedicated air cooler with chambers or a high end AiO. The area around the PC gets 2-5 degrees warmer then the rest of the room. Under load the CPU hits 60C at the highest so far under load with a AiO running about 65% to maintain that temperature.If you want a high end all round processor that can work and play. This is the processor. The AMD alternative is powerful and good for gaming and single core processes... But doesn't compare when it comes to high end emulation, rendering, and multi core tasks.Hope this helps!Ver másVer menos

This CPU lol.....what can I say?
I'll start off by saying I don't have screenshots of benchmarks because I'm too scared to max it out. This thing requires a DAMN good cooler. Those little rinky dink $30 coolers won't cut it for this. Ask me how I know. During transcoding (which I forgot to use the iGPU for), temps got up to 105 and it kept chugging along. I use this CPU in my server. I don't use it for gaming. A lot of media transcoding, machine learning, etc. This is the first CPU I've had since the i7 7700k. Going from 4 cores 8 threads 4.2Ghz to 24 cores 24 threads @ 5.5Ghz lol....night and day. I was actually planning on getting the i7 12600k but this CPU was brand new and I think there was a sale on it so I returned the i7 and got this one. I am sooooooooo glad I did. This thing will block your socks off....and then burn them afterwards. I've had it for about 6 months so far and I'm still impressed by what it does. I can't even imagine trying to overclock this thing. Gonna need some liquid nitrogen.Ver másVer menos
