Too expensive when there are much better options at this price point.

As you can see in the video of my man cave/guest bedroom, I'm well acquainted with RGB/ARGB LED products now. These simply didn't make the cut to go up in the room.About the only thing these have going for them compared to other options which also have the same IP ratings and similar controls, is their length and being diffused somewhat is in fact a lot better than naked LED. Which I find really annoying to directly look at. Naked LED should be saved for ambient lighting to light behind things they're covered with. Like under beds or behind wall hangings or similar the like. Also they're 24v so they don't have the power drop off issue that can occur on long lengths of LED strips. Power drop off is where there isn't enough power that reaches the ends of the strips which makes their color not light properly. To fix that power either has to be injected to the ends of the strips with a second set of wiring, or voltage has to go up from the more standard 5v and 12v strips.My issues with these are as follows.Though the power cable is long enough, the parts attached to the strip themselves is not. Which mean the box they plug into is going to be visible and hard to hide unless they're hung low.Their diffusers are weak and show fairly bad hotspots. (Spots that show the exact location of each LED) Examples of good diffusers are like the neon ropes above the TV and at the top left of the room. As well as those 3 little desktop lights next to the TV. You can't see where any of the LED are with those so the light and color is completely uniform. Hotspots is something I'm trying to completely phase out of the room. I was hoping these would take the place of the ones in wall/ceiling corner channels above the TV that also show major hot spots.They're RGB not ARGB. Meaning all LED change color at the same time. RGB was the first LED strip tech that came out. The LED are told how to light by simply varying the voltage to each of dedicated red, green, and blue wires. So like these strips, they're usually 4 pin/wire of a power, then the aforementioned 3 different color wires. ARGB on the other hand is 3 pin/wire consisting of a power, data, and ground wire. LED are told how to light with computer code through the data line to chips for each individual or usually grouped in 3-5 LED. That allows each individual or group of LED to be able to light independently from each other or other groups. Which makes for much neater modes or even custom modes like most of my setup is running. I had hoped these were going to be ARGB like my other neon ropes. It's hard to tell now days as RGB is sometimes to often just used colloquially to describe all types of color changing LED strips. So these are ACTUAL RGB, making them not as good as the newer ARGB tech.Price is another major drawback. If you go to other places like Aliexpress you can see how inexpensive LED strips have gotten now days. Granted they handle much of directly from China selling which most if not all LED products are made at now days. So they can be less expensive as there's less shipping going on. But even comparing the costs at more expensive places like Amazon, these really aren't at a competitive price point.So these are a swing and a miss for me. If you want some simple single color at a time lighting and don't mind paying a bit more, and you don't care about hotspots. Than these can work out for you. But if you want better for less look elsewhere.Ver más
