Love my slushy machine!
I purchased a slushie machine because I love going and getting a slushie from time to time. My grand-daughter likes slushies as well. I love the ability to make a slushie at home, using things I already have on hand, usually a nice juice or my favorite is coffee with milk, sugar, and a little vanilla bean paste. We have tried apple juice, fruit juices and nectars, coffee, and have made milkshakes in it too. I love using cranberry juice to make a slushy. Koolaid works great too. I use 6 c of water to 1-1/2 c sugar, and I packet koolaid. Mix everything real well to make sure sugar is dissolved before adding to the machine. I love using juices and make them into slushies! It is so versatile on what you can make! You just have to make sure that there is enough sugar in what you are trying to slush. With apple juice, a splash type juice, and cranberry juice, we had to add about 2 TBS of sugar to the juice, when going to fill line (64 fl oz). If the sugar level isn't enough, machine deeps and displays a message to add sugar. I don't like juices with corn syrup in them. Even if the bottle states 2nd ingredient is high fructose corn syrup, you may have to add sugar. We had to when we used the nature's nectar juice. It's a balancing act to make sure there is enough sugar for freezing your beverage. It is so easy to make a great slushie! Just pour your juice or mixture in the top, select what you want to make, adjust the thickness if you want it thicker or thinner, and press the start button. It freezes your concoction the way you want, thin or thick. When I am cleaning between batches, I just put warm water in the machine, press clean/defrost and start. It cleans well and easily. You can also add a touch of dishsoap to clean it. If I made something that has milk or cream in it, I usually wash it by hand to make sure I get all of the cream out of the collection canister, and off the auger. I will then empty out the collection bin underneath from dripped condensation, and wipe off the freezing cylinder to make sure it is nice and clean for the next use.It looks great on my counter, and doesn't take up too much space. It is taller than wider, but still fits under the upper cabinets. I love the black color, it looks really nice.I purchased this brand because I love the electric tea kettle from Chefman that is still going strong after several years. I felt that the same manufacturer would have a great slushie machine as well, and at a good price. I am not disappointed. It works great! We have used it several times, and it works really great. Milkshakes, juice slushie, coffee slushie, and even koolaid slushies come out great in this machine.Looking for a great machine that won't break the bank? This one is amazing!!Ver másVer menos
