The sound is surprisingly rich
I am a lifelong pianist and a career music teacher and piano teacher. I've always appreciated the convenience and playfulness of the various sounds that an electric keyboard can generate, but my heart has always been on the side of an acoustic. I am impressed with the sounds I can make using this keyboard, especially as compared in price and in sound and in portability to other keyboards I've used.I'm not ready to swap out my acoustic grand for this keyboard, but I an elaborate on what I like about it.- The keyboard is touch sensitive: pressing harder into the keys creates a louder sound, and pressing lighter a much softer sound. I can hold the keys down to extend the sound before it decays, or I can play a dryer, more staccato sound.- The sound bank has a variety that is similar to a very advanced synthesizer I used in the '80s, but the keyboard has its own speakers rather than needing a large amp. I believe if I had the correct cord I could easily hook this up to a speakeror another external sound source through the headphones jack to get more sound, but that is not the primary function. - The lights on the keyboard look nice, but they serve me absolutely no purpose. I would choose to never use them. It would save on battery life.- Being able to fold it in half and carry it in a soft bag is literally genius! I would not want to have to move it from classroom to classroom every 45 minutes each day of the week, but outside of that, I find that moving it and setting it up is extremely easy.- The built in metronome is convenient for anyone who is learning how to use one. It produces beats grouped into 3s and 4s if desired, but I prefer one static sound.- Changing from one sound to another could be a little bit easier, but maybe I haven't found the magic yet. As far as I can see it requires using both of my hands and turning my eyes way down toward the bass.- There are recording features that I have not tried in earnest yet, but they look like they have a lot of potential.- The fact that it can midi with a computer is extremely useful.- The size of the keys is large enough (just smaller than an acoustic, I think) to be able to play without translating size and spacing.- It is a full 88 key keyboard, so if there's someone who really wants to learn piano has access only to something like this, it's technically possible to execute all of the notes one might encounter in the literature. The quality of the sound range varies with the sound setting.- Many of the acoustic sounds are quite believable in the proper ranges.- I can see some people gravitating toward it because of the lights. They're not really useful in terms of learning as far as I can see, but if someone sits down primarily because of the lights, well, that's still a victory.It's an all around very useful instrument. This won't replace an acoustic when one is really needed, but it's a very fair workhorse. The charging cable is way too short, so an adequate extension cord would be part of my bag if I was traveling with it. I didn't play it long enough to drain the battery, but it's nice that the battery can go on some charge. It's also possible to play it with electric power, so as long as you're prepared, it should keep up with the rest.I haven't tested it in any other setting besides sitting alone. I would have to count on some savvy sound peeps to tell me if it could function and mix with other amplified sounds well. Primarily, I think it's meant to be used for individuals.Ver másVer menos

Compact and full of features you need
I was pleasantly surprised with this keyboard. The tones you get from this are really good, you don't get a lot of bloat but it has the main ones you look for. It took a little while to figure out how to get to all the features on the keys - push in the volume knob and press a key on the keyboard corresponding to the text above the key... It's has a few demo songs in it like Fur Elise and other classical tunes.The lights have 4 different modes, setting 2 is my favorite because they light up as you play.The keys feel amazing being semi weighted and are velocity sensitive! It comes with a sustain pedal but you'll probably want to upgrade that as it's very basic. Sus pedals are pretty cheap on Amazon.I like that it folds up and stores in a gig bag, it's rechargeable so you aren't tethered to a wall and the battery lasts seemingly all day. The kids love it and that was the point of it all. It comes with clear stickers for the white keys showing the musical notation and note which is great for beginners or those learning to read sheet music.I think it's a good value, it's crazy how much the high technology has trickled down to budget tier devices.Ver másVer menos

Packed with great features and great portability
I was impressed by how many fun features are packed into this keyboard.First, it folds in half, making storing and transporting so much easier than any other 88-key keyboard. Despite the hinge, my piano-playing son, who has played in gigs with jazz, pop and classical music, says that the hinge does not make any appreciable difference in play.Second, the number of tones this one includes is amazing. 179 tones, including voice sounds and bird calls. There are whistles, cellos, lots of percussion including steel drums. There are bells, chimes, gunshots, storm sounds, rain.Next, the demo mode has several sounds, so if you are like me and have no formal piano training, you can put on a demo song and just look like you're playing in a much more sophisticated fashion than you usually do.Also, the keyboard comes with all kinds of rhythms you can use to play over: funk, big band, bluegrass, disco. You name it. There are 127 different rhythms to choose from.Coolest of all are the lights. This keyboard has colored lights that work in different patterns. You can use no lights at all, or have the lights just go on the keys you are touching. You can also have colored lights on all the time, or move in different rolling patterns. These are especially fun in darker conditions. We had a blast with these at a family get-together. Even my serious piano players enjoyed the lights.The volume knob does double and triple duty. By turning it, you can change the volume from one to 16, levels. Unfortunately, and this was the only real negative of the keyboard, the internal volume, even at the loudest level, is not very loud. You'd need external speakers, I guess, if you want real volume power.And though the semi-weighted keys allow a nice feel, there isn't as much gradual volume dynamics as you might like. You don't have a lot of control in shifting from a low volume to a higher one by pressing. Sometimes the shift will be sudden, and sometimes more gradual, but it's unpredictable.But the volume button doesn't only turn; if you press it, you can change other functions, allowing all kinds of tones and changes. It is a selection button, in other words, used in combination with the buttons along the top.It has a metronome function with several different rhythms. It has a sustain button which is really nice when using stringed instrument tones.It also has a transpose key for easy transposing as well as record and playback functions.It comes with a music stand that slips into slots at the top and is easily removeable for transporting in the case.The keyboard comes with a sustain pedal and a great case. The case includes a double strap grip handle for basic carrying as well as a longer shoulder strap. It also includes a zipper pocket on the front for keeping the charging cable and sustain pedal. You can change this up. and then you don't need to plug it in for a long time, so you can use this in places power outlets are hard to find, like parks and picnics.This a great keyboard for family events and parties because it's so fun and the sounds and lights are sure to impress.

Ideal for beginners like myself
After an embarrassing experience during my paino performance as a child, I literally stopped playing after. I'm unsure why honestly anyway when I saw this foldable piano, I figured I'd give it another go in my ole age. It's really easy to use; to close simply press the button below the sticker and fold. I won't post any video of me playing right now but hope to in the future. As I play around, I realize I have to bang a little harder when using to paddle to hear the change in sound. While I like the cool colors, I know one day, it'll annoy me so I'm glad that it can be disabled. It connects smoothly with Bluetooth and the display screen is nice and clear. What I like is that I'd be able to pack this inside my backpack (carry-on) along with other essentials. So whenever my family members starts getting on my nerves I can play off key just to piss them off. Man, I'm so looking forward to our next family gathering. If you can't tell from reading this, yup, I'm that family member hahaha. Overall review, 10 stars; ideal for beginners. Oh it also includes clear instructions, piano key stickers, music stand and carrying bag.Ver másVer menos

Fun way to learn and play
This keyboard is genuinely fun to play with, and the colorful lights really help make the learning process feel more engaging and less like a chore. It is a fantastic option if you are tight on space, as the folding feature makes it incredibly easy to tuck away when you are finished practicing.The keys have a decent semi-weighted feel that works well for casual playing and getting familiar with the layout. It comes with all the essential accessories you need to get started right out of the box, and the battery life has been reliable for my practice sessions.While it might not replace a full-sized professional acoustic piano, it offers great value for beginners or anyone looking for a portable instrument.
