Exceptional!
This is a work of art. There is so much going on in every chapter, one can overlook the formatting errors toward the end. I was nearly overwhelmed by the action. It was only a little difficult to keep track of the characters but manageable in the end.

A GREAT PUBLICATION in UNABRIDGED EDITION
This is a wonderful UNABRIDGED edition. Everyone should read this great book.

World Renowned Classic with Modern Readability & Historian Introduction
Not always in top 100 lists, but consistently in the top 100 books found in libraries and in the top 200 and top 300 books of all time. Still one of my very, very personal favorites. Originally a mini-series, this page-turner is an absolutely legendary masterpiece of political justice, conspiracy, secrecy, long-term consequences, social standing, power struggle, redemption - it's all here.Why this edition? The readability is excellent - & then there is the historical introduction: The actual political world the novel accurately surrounds our hero with is important to understand (more fully than the text written for people actually enveloped in this world permits). Definitely adds to a more well-understood &, thereby, enjoyable read.I can most highly recommend this beloved classic & I can also recommend this particular edition. Recommended.Ver másVer menos

A timeless revenge story that somehow feels sharper with every reread.
What I love about The Count of Monte Cristo is how completely absorbing it is once you settle in. The scale is epic, but it never feels bloated. Every betrayal, disguise, and long-planned move matters. Edmond Dantès is one of the most compelling transformations in literature, and watching him shift from innocence to calculated brilliance is endlessly fascinating. The story balances intrigue and emotion beautifully, mixing political maneuvering, moral tension, and deeply personal stakes. I also appreciated how modern it still feels in the way it explores power, reputation, and justice. This unabridged edition really lets the story breathe, and once you’re in, it’s hard to put down despite its length.Ver másVer menos

A great edition of a masterpiece
I've always wanted to read the Count of Monte Cristo and I was not dissappointed. The writing is marvelous, and really immersive. It was so easy to get hooked by this book. I really loved how dramatic the story is and how complex the characters are. This edition was a really great way to enjoy the book. The historical context added a really important layer that really helped me understand the setting and the time the story takes place. A really amazing read and really got me into reading more classics.Ver másVer menos
