Great hardware, so-so software.

First off, the watch is tough. I am not very easy on my watches and this one was no exception. I received it August 30th, 2026 and to date (October 7th, 2026) I have only charged it 3 times. The watch its self feels durable and well made. It’s big. I have 6.7inch wrist and it’s giant on my wrist. I usually wear g shocks and dive watches so I’m used to that. The smart watch I had before this was a Fitbit versa 2 that lasted years. I needed something until I was able to get an Apple Watch (I use an apple phone). It’s definitely water resistant as I have had it soaked multiple times. It’s taken a 4 foot fall to tile and is fine. I do put screen protectors on the watch face so that does help. There are specific ones made for the Kospet Tank T4C here on Amazon. Buttons work well and feel good to press. The band is horrible, and it’s a small part to why it gets 4 stars from me. This is where they cut $. It’s a sticky, cheap rubber band that I would not trust to keep my watch secure. I had extra 22mm bands already and changed that band out ASAP. It’s not worth knocking a whole star off for (read on because spoiler alert it’s the software) but it’s something you should know before buying this. The stock band is just terrible in every way possible. But it’s really not a deal breaker at this price point. Just go in knowing it’s a bad strap/band. I don’t like quick release pins on watches so just to let you know, 1.8mm pins will fit the pin holes of the Kospet Tank T4C so any band with straight ends can go on this watch. Kospet sells their own but I went with a brown tropical FKM rubber strap. It’s available here on Amazon. The bezel is slightly raise for screen protection but do your self a favor and get a screen protector. If you are buying this watch, you are probably doing so because it’s a durable tool watch and plan to use it in high impact, manual labor, construction, or a trade or possible other blue collar work. It’s worth protecting. It does stand up to whatever you can throw at it construction wise, minus maybe running it over with a car (haven’t tested that lol). It’s water resistance rating seems to hold up as well. I have gotten mud all over it as well as water, and multi surface cleaner multiple times. Just be sure to rise it if you plan to get near chemicals or mud/dirt. The flashlight was something I didn’t think I would use as much as I do. It’s not going to replace your phone light or a real flashlight; but for what it is it is extremely useful. It’s the one thing I’m going to miss the most about this watch. It has multiple levels of brightness. I tried to show how bright it gets in a completely dark room. It definitely is useful and a huge plus for this watch. The weight is heavy, it’s a top heavy watch and you know you are wearing it. If you have smaller wrist it’s going to set big on you. Just check the size specs of the watch before buying if a huge watch face concerns you. The charger is annoying it’s one of those magnetic ones that is a pain to use. Kospet sells little charging pucks that fix this issue. But this is another place they saved money. Not a deal breaker, but it is annoying to charge and you need to keep it 100% stable. The screen is bright and vibrant. Good visibility outdoors and excellent indoors. Again I would get screen protectors to protect the screen but that is a preference. Now we get to the not so great, the software.Heart rate works well as long as you don’t spike in heart rate quickly. It seems to struggle in heart rate variations. Unless you set to a workout mode and even then it struggles to track quick/high variations. However, when I use it to check my heart rate from the watch it seems pretty accurate. I check it against my own counting and I get consistent results at a normal or slightly elevated pulse. You can change it to check your heart rate every 5 min and I believe intervals till 30 minutes. I have mine set to every 5 minutes. Like I said it tracks decently it just struggles when heart rates rise rapidly. At this price point that is to be expected.I don’t really use the mood, or blood oxygen levels. At this price point, I would expect them not to be super accurate. But it’s a feature. This is a basic health tracker so don’t expect it to be at a Garmin levels of tracking. That being said, it does well enough for the price point. The ABC functions of this watch work well. When using the compass you want to be away from other electronics as it will interfere with the compass. Against my iPhone it is surprisingly accurate. Totally functional. That goes for the barometer and altimeter.Phone calls work well. People can hear me very well and for what it is, the speaker is decent to hear out of. It does get fairly loud so you can hear well. It’s not the most clearest sounding calls coming out of the watch, but it is more than acceptable for the price point. Mind you I have an iPhone, so it functions pretty basic, I would imagine than if you were to use it with an android or google phone. Messages show up as long as you are near your phone. About 45 feet is how far it starts to loose connection from the iPhone. I’m usually not that far from my phone so I don’t have many connection drops. Pictures do not show up obviously and if it’s a long message it won’t show all of it on the watch. I believe that is an Apple specific issue. I can’t speak to how messages come through or what you can and can’t see on an android. For me though, this is perfectly fine as long as I can see messages and answer calls. Any other brand of smart watch that isn’t an Apple Watch will act this way with an iPhone. So go knowing that. A Garmin instinct 3 (similar to the Kospet Tank T4C) will act the same way as this watch for messages and notifications when using an iPhone. You can see what they are, and it will tell you, but the icons are all the same for all messages/message platforms (WhatsApp for example). You can customize what notifications you get too. You cannot reply to anything using IOS though. Far as I am aware. Many other features in this watch that are useful like find your phone. One that is not useful is the voice assistant. Mine has never worked. It may be an Apple thing, I don’t know. I just know I have never had it functioning. It actually tracks sleep fairly well, especially with the beta software they are testing right now. It actually tracks my sleep and even tracks naps well. It’s not the most comprehensive app layout but you can definitely use it to successfully track and monitor your sleep patterns. At this price point I’m shocked and satisfied at how well it tracks sleep. The app itself is…ok. They are beta testing a newer layout that seems to function a lot more smoothly and efficient than other. I had lost connection a couple times in the old app format, not big deal, but it did wipe my sleep and heart rate montering for that day completely away. That happened 2 times before the beta app was launch and since, I haven’t had any connectivity issues other than straying too far from my phone. The app is bare bones compared to something like Garmin, Apple, or even amazfit. But it functions decent, and I don’t have much to complain about especially at this price point. You DO have to keep the app open for it to run the in the background or you can just manually connect to the app instead. Some people won’t like this. And I can understand. It doesn’t seem to eat my iPhone battery when running in the background, but it’s something I don’t particularly like. My Fitbit did the same thing once Fitbit was bought by google and turned into google health (app). There are a couple hundred watch faces. The ones that come pre installed all have quick touch on them so you can activate your heart rate monitor, music, messages , calls depending on the watch faces. The others that you can download are plentiful, but I honestly didn’t really love any particular one. Some of the downloadable ones don’t have quick launches on them, some of them do. It will say in the face description “quick launch” if they do that function. You can also buy a few at .99 cents a face. Haven’t done that and there are so many you will find one that is acceptable and free. All in all this is a great watch at an even better price. I got mine on sale for $148plus tax. It’s worth every penny to me for my use. Just know what this watch is and what it isn’t. Most of the reviews on YT are paid sponsored so you aren’t going to get the downsides/short comings of this watch. If you are wanting a watch that does basic tracking this is a decent choice, but its ecosystem isn’t robust like garmin or even amazfit. This is a specialized watch for blue collar work, it’s not a fashion piece, you won’t get compliments on it, and it’s giant. I really like it. I don’t know if I would pay full price for this, but catch it on sale and if it fits your needs go for it. The robustness and quality of the watch its self is worth the price on sale in my opinion. Even not on sale this is far better than most other options in this price point. It doesn’t have offline maps, but the Tank T4 does. Which I don’t use anyways (Inuse my phone for that). I highly recommend this watch as long as you know what it is you are buying. When you do research on it, you’ll see this is a stellar choice for the money.I went with the stainless steel silver color watch because I know for a fact the black one will fade/paint chip. It is what it is with that. Which is why I chose the color I did (silver). I have banged it around and no super noticeable damage I could see.In super short, excellent watch, not so excellent software/app. I hope this helps someone because there really isn’t a whole lot of info out there about this watch that isn’t someone glazing it and not talking about its downfalls and failures.
