A keyboard for people who love mechanical keys but also enjoy being allowed to live indoors
I bought this keyboard hoping for something decent.Truthfully, I bought it because I needed something sturdier to rotate in with my Apple keyboard after I nearly retired the WASD keys playing on Steam. To be fair, the Apple keyboard is sleek, low-profile, pretty, and civilized. I am… less so.I type like someone raised in a 1991 computer lab where keyboards required commitment and brute force. Those habits apparently never left me.Also, I am not made of money, so I wanted an affordable way to jump back into the mechanical keyboard waters since I couldn’t exactly try it first. Could I have gone to a store? Probably. Did I care enough to leave my house? Absolutely not. What arrived was a compact slab of competence with retro swagger.First, it is shockingly quiet. I love the feel of mechanical keyboards, but I do not love my family plotting my exile because I’m clacking away like a caffeinated woodpecker doing taxes at midnight. This gives you that satisfying tactile feel without sounding like a factory stamping license plates. My son asked if TikTok made me buy this keyboard. I don’t even have TikTok. I’m not ancient, but I am entering the cranky-adjacent life phase where I’d prefer technology stop reinventing itself every five minutes. Also, can't lie - there's some cool stuff out there. The multi-device switching is wizardry. I bounce between my MacBook, iMac, and tablet all day, and it handles it beautifully. Fast, simple, no nonsense.I specifically wanted compact so I could use a separate numpad, because I still like my 10-key tilted at an angle like it’s 1998 and I’m chasing records in a spreadsheet arena. The retro design is fantastic. It has heft. It feels sturdy. It feels like a keyboard that could survive real life, not just a carefully curated desk photo.Battery life has been excellent, and I’m using it constantly. Huge bonus that it can charge while in use.Setup was quick, the shortcuts made sense almost immediately, and the volume knob deserves praise of its own. Smooth, tactile, satisfying. I have adjusted volume just to enjoy the knob experience.I even gave up fingerprint login convenience for this keyboard, which tells you how much I like it. I willingly type passwords now like it’s the ancient times. One con: if you love swapping keycaps and customizing every square inch of your keyboard, this probably isn’t your playground. Move along, noble tinkerer. That said, fair warning: this keyboard did send me down a rabbit hole of looking at keyboards, keycaps, desk setups, and wondering who I’ve become. So beware, especially if you are one of those office décor people who claims they’re “just browsing.” I was too.But seriously: this keyboard is excellent. Quiet, solid, stylish, easy to use, and genuinely enjoyable every single day. New favorite.Ver másVer menos
