Easy to install. Works great!
Fantastic piece of equipment. Very easy to get on the wifi, which has been a slower process with other systems. It added seamlessly to the other Defender cameras we have, and the solar power panel is excellent. Pan and tilt work well.Thanks for an excellent item!Ver másVer menos

Good Image Quality
I received this camera for review and have been pleasantly surprised by how capable it is, especially for locations where running power would be difficult or impractical. The solar panel keeps the battery well-charged. Fortunately, where we’ve mounted it, we have plenty of direct sunlight making it a good option for monitoring the blind area of our driveway.Setup was straightforward, and the companion app was easy to connect and configure. I appreciate that the app offers a lot of functionality, including live viewing, motion alerts, activity playback, custom patrol routes, tracking features, detection zones, and preset camera positions. I also liked that recorded clips and live-view recordings are easy to access, and remote viewing worked reliably throughout my testing.We use a mesh system, so the camera is set up in a corner where it’s pretty much equidistance from two separate nodes, and so far the wireless connection has been quite stable. The image quality is sharp. Motion detection performs pretty well, and we’ve had relatively few false alerts while still successfully identifying actual people at a distance. The ability to distinguish between people and animals and customize notification settings seems to be helping to reduce unnecessary alerts.The camera itself feels well constructed, with weather-protected ports and thoughtful mounting options. The included solar panel charges efficiently, and the USB-C cables provide flexibility during installation. Integration with Amazon Echo is another nice bonus.There are a few drawbacks worth mentioning. The pan and tilt functions work, but camera movement through the on-screen controls can feel a little sluggish at times. I suspect this is due to network delay. Also, despite being marketed as a PTZ camera, there is no true zoom function. You can enlarge the image using standard touchscreen gestures, but that simply magnifies the existing image rather than providing actual optical or dedicated digital zoom capability.I also wish the mounting hardware were a bit more tamper-resistant for outdoor installations, and a more discreet design would make it easier to place in areas where you don't necessarily want the camera to draw attention. The included cables get the job done, but they don't feel quite as premium as the rest of the package.Overall, this is a feature-rich solar-powered security camera with strong battery performance, good image quality, reliable motion detection, and an easy-to-use app. As long as you don't need true zoom capability, it offers a lot of value for the price.Ver másVer menos

A good quality pan and tilt outdoor solar chargeable camera
This is the "Defender Solar Powered 4K AI Guard Ultra-Charge PTZ Wireless WiFi Security Camera, 64GB". I set it up inside my house and it seemed to be working fine. I then mounted it just outside my front door and it had trouble connecting to my interior access point on 2.4 ghz wifi. I then installed an outdoor access point at the top of the outside of my front door and this provided a great connection for this camera from anywhere in and around my yard. I took it portable and walked the entire 120 foot by 25 foot area of my front yard and there was very solid coverage to the outdoor wifi access point. I ended up mounting it up in a tree and then saved several favorite positions and one preset position that it will always reset to. It has been doing a good job of capturing desired motion and seems to be very battery efficient. I have not yet connected the solar panel and it has been running several days and still shows 80% battery remaining. I think that it will be fine with any place that I mount the solar panel since it is so efficient The picture quality looks great and it rapidly can change to any of my favorite positions on demand. I am not using the tracking feature at this time nor an I using any cloud services. Just the internal SD card for image storage. There is only one thing that I do not like. When I am watching it live, it frequently tries to go to sleep and gives me a count down timer that I have to click on to prevent sleep. I wish that was a settable time, but it seems to be preset to a relatively short period and needs to be clicked often. The app was easy to setup and other than the annoying count down timer it provides a great display for monitoring what is happening outside. The price when I ordered this was a good value at around $139.Ver másVer menos

Nice Not Having To Run Wires
Well I finally did my ladder work and got installed. The camera and solar panel were actually very easy to set up and get installed. I could tell when I took out of the box that this is a top quality camera and solar panel. The solar battery gets over 5 hours of sun so it definitely last a long time. The tracking is really cool and you would have laughed at a couple of 60+ year olds on walkie-talkies acting like kids making it track. Picture is clearer than my Blink and night vision has a pretty good distance view. It’s really nice not having to run wires for my security camera. Btw you can add an battery backup to your WiFi in case someone stupid enough wants to kill your power to disable your cameras and monitoring they will be sadly disappointed as the get cuffed.Ver másVer menos

I like that it is solar powered, and works on wifi!
Besides the fact that it works directly off solar power, and has a big battery for operation when there is no sun, I really like that you do not have to have a subscription to use it! If you want, you can get cloud storage, I don't feel it is necessary so I don't know how much it is. You can monitor it from your phone app, and download what you want to your computer. The video is very good resolution, and not too many false trips from animals. If it sees a bear, i hope it will trip!Connecting was tricky, my network is 5g, but I was able to get it to work eventually. I get why they use 2.4g, it generally has better range than 5g. The camera comes with all the needed hardware to install, and the cord for solar panel is quite long and will allow to most likely find a spot to get enough sun to keep it powered. Wosrt case in the winter, you can recharge the battire with any type USBc block, or power bank.The pan tilt is pretty accurate following, and you can set a "home" position. The appearance is fine, you certainly can tell it is a camera! It does not have much of any protection from theft, other than mounting it high, I don't see any easy way to do that. It also has lights for use at night, they are pretty bright! It will also double as a light for you to see with when you come home if you have it by your entrance door.Overall, I like this camera a lot, and I do recommend it!Ver másVer menos
