Khadlaj Sawaar Vanille Blanc - Stamp of Approval
I own well over 90 fragrances of all sorts from cheap/clones, to niche, to designer and up in price (no, I’m not a fragrance influencer, and no I don’t have a problem with collecting, at least I don’t think I do haha I guess it depends who you ask) and I just received this one today from Amazon. I wanted to add another vanilla style fragrance for the cooler months, especially to use for layering with other colognes, and I must say, this fragrance absolutely did not disappoint. Fairly impressed actually, as I went in blind and super skeptical. I’m partial to the vanilla-based scent profile in fragrances as it is, both on women and men, but if anything I’m usually even more critical and picky when I test out new vanilla-like products to see how they fare against what I already own. This is quite simply a nice, clean burst of just smooth, creamy, airy, and slightly sweet and powdery (and barely powdery for those of you who steer clear of that note) vanilla elegance from the jump. Not too sweet, and not too harsh, which is exactly what I would prefer to wear in a vanilla-based/style fragrance. Almost like a vanilla bean type of vibe. It won’t ever overpower a room, but I would imagine you could easily command 4-6 hours of good to decent longevity with this, with mild projection, if sprayed accordingly in the right environment. I sprayed this on a t-shirt and also on my skin, and then waited an hour or so to see how it matured on both, and it was deliciously lovely all-around. I would say on my skin it was even better. I wanted to get a first take on the original spritz with a paper test strip, and then revisit the scent later. This leans more on the feminine side, maybe 55 or 60/40, but any man could also pull this off without an issue. Unisex friendly, for sure. As I said, I bought this fragrance with the intention of layering it with some of my other stronger cold weather preferred fragrances in my lineup (mostly ones with a heavier tobacco, boozy, woodsy, or smoky note) as this will help bring out and complement them all in different, unique ways. In my opinion: the soft, light smoothness of this particular fragrance reeks of good quality from the first spray, and I would certainly recommend this to others out there in the market for a similar scent profile to either pair/layer with other complimentary notes in other fragrances, or just as a solid daily wear in the cooler months of the year. My personal test on longevity has yet to be truly determined, so I can only base this review off my first impression here. I would need to test it out more for further evaluation. I would imagine you could also pull this fragrance off in the Spring or Summer if used strategically, and paired with the right citrusy notes as well, but I usually lean more toward the colder weather if I’m ever reaching for a vanilla style fragrance. It truly screams that to its core, first and foremost. I’m sure most would agree on that. Definitely wouldn’t leave a long review like this if I didn’t feel it deserved one. I usually only write reviews for products I either absolutely love or hate. This one gets my love vote. They did a great job with this fragrance. As mentioned, I went in cautiously open-minded (and skeptical) and not expecting this to exceed my expectations, but I’m pleased to say it did. For someone who really appreciates the vanilla scent profile, it’s a must-have if you ask me. I don’t think you’ll regret it. This will, without question, enter and remain in the regular rotation of my collection during the seemingly endless cold weather months going forward. Enjoy, everyone!EDIT/UPDATE: After having this fragrance and using it on several occasions now (at least 4 times), I would like to think I have a good pulse on the longevity of it. I’ll be honest, the fragrance by itself isn’t very strong. To be fair, I had purchased this fragrance mainly to use specifically for layering with/on other fragrances that I have to help enhance them, so if we’re basing the review off layering/pairing capability, it’s really a solid choice. I used this twice by itself in order to test its durability for this review: You could probably get about 3-4 hours of mild longevity from clothes before it becomes more of a skin scent. However, I must admit, the skin scent is fantastic. On skin, you could still faintly pick up the scent around the 6 hour mark. Beyond that estimated 4 hour mark, it’s pretty tough to really pick it up off of your clothes. When you layer it with another fragrance, it’s just better. Hope this helps!Ver másVer menos
