So far so GREAT!
I have had this TV for just 24 hours so I can only hope it will last a reasonable amount of time. My beloved Sony Bravia started failing after 16 years and as much as I like Sony products I just couldn’t afford one right now. I also have an old Roku stick that still works impressively, so when I saw the deal on this Roku TV it seemed a safe gamble. There were a few scary glitches after I set it up. The screen is huge but it only weighs about 20 lbs so I was able to mount it myself, being very careful not to touch the screen. I bought a swivel stand to use in place of the plastic ones it came with and it was a good choice. The first glitch happened when the Roku “welcome” set-up informed me it needed to download updated software. It stalled at 52% then gave me the chance to try again. It got a little further before failing again. At that point I restarted the TV to clear the memory, and after that it downloaded the software properly. When I added an app today the same thing happened. Again, restarting the TV fixed the problem. My first impressions of the picture and sound weren’t great. Too bright and washed out for my taste, and tinny sound. I found a menu to choose a few different modes but they didn’t satisfy my standards, based on the Sony. But then I discovered the advanced controls and soon had a gorgeous picture and very good sound. The skin tones are especially impressive, with very natural hues. Landscapes are breathtaking and color graphics are dazzling. Also, the TV starts up almost instantly - unlike the Sony which alwys seemed to take forever. The true test will be longevity. But right now I am extremely happy with my choice. If it craps out early I’ll update this review.Ver másVer menos
