  Works well, but can’t perform miracles

  I got the 6.5ft/2M cable in white. The cable works well and looks really good on my 77inch Samsung OLED. That being said, it is still a video signal coming from a 20 year old console. It will not ever look as good as a Switch, but this cable does everything it can to help it look good. One of my only gripes with the cable is that there are faint moving line artifacts that are visible on screens with lots of white. If you have a smaller TV you probably wouldn’t even notice, and during regular gameplay it’s hardly noticeable. Sound quality is great. The build quality is on par with the original cable.The only other negative that I’ve experienced with this cable is that the TV does not know what to make of it. Samsung’s smart TV operating system tries to figure out what your input device is and whether or not the smart remote can control it. With this cable, the TV will think about it and then just reject the video connection altogether. I fixed this by just pressing the down button on the remote to tell the TV that the input is a PC. After that, I’ve had no issues.There are some tricks to getting the best image quality out of your Wii using this cable. Start in the Wii settings and set the display resolution to 480p instead of 480i. Then set the display mode to widescreen instead of 4:3. If you’ve modded your Wii, then set the de-flickering filter in USBLoaderGX to OFF (extended) to get rid of the blur that’s all over Wii games. Then go to Video Width and set it to Framebuffer to avoid stretching.Overall, I would definitely recommend this cable over just adapting the composite output to HDMI. It is worth it.Ver másVer menos
