SERIOUS PRIVACY CONCERNS, UNRELIABLE CONNECTIVITY, RESOURCE-HEAVY SOFTWARE

SPAM/PHISHING CONCERNS:Installing BarTender Label Designer required both my email address and phone number. Within two hours of providing that information, I began receiving a large volume of unrelated spam/phishing emails and calls. These were not legitimate “welcome” communications from BarTender. They included obvious scam indicators such as misspellings, links requesting banking credential confirmation, and calls demanding immediate payment to stop alleged credit card fraud. Based on the timing and nature of these contacts, I have serious concerns about how customer information is handled.UTILIZATION CONTEXT:For reference, I used this printer with a Windows 11 laptop (Intel Core Ultra 7, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD) and a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra running the latest Android OS.BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY:I spent more than five hours trying to set up and use the printer via Bluetooth on both my Windows laptop and Samsung phone. I followed the driver installation and setup instructions exactly. After many attempts, I was eventually able to print a test page and one shipping label from my laptop. However, after my PC went to sleep and I later tried to print again, I received a “printer offline” error, even though the printer had remained powered on. Unlike most Bluetooth devices, this printer did not reconnect automatically. The only way I could restore functionality was to delete the printer and repeat the entire installation process. I was never able to successfully print from my phone. To be fair, after spending so much time troubleshooting the laptop connection, I did not invest as much effort into resolving the phone issues.USB CONNECTIVITY:Before testing USB, I removed the Bluetooth printer and uninstalled the driver because the setup process requires you to choose either Bluetooth or USB during installation. I wanted to avoid any conflicts, so I reinstalled the driver and selected USB. After installation, three copies of the printer appeared in my printer folder. I tested all three, but only one printed successfully; the other two showed “printer offline” errors. After identifying the working copy, I deleted the other two. I have repeated this process twice, but each time all three copies reappeared. At that point, I stopped trying to remove the extras. As long as I select “Copy 1,” I have been able to print several shipping labels successfully via USB.A USB-C adapter was included, but I have not tested USB printing from my phone. Since I am currently leaning toward returning the printer, I do not see value in spending additional time on further testing.RESOURCE UTILIZATION:Installing the BarTender Label Designer software took 24 minutes, with all other applications closed and no unnecessary background processes running. After installation, Task Manager showed CPU and RAM usage at 97% and 86%, respectively. This continued even after a clean restart. On a laptop with the specifications listed above, the software made my PC nearly unusable. Basic actions, such as opening a web browser or right-clicking a file, took more than 40 seconds. Because of this, I was unable to meaningfully evaluate the software itself and chose to uninstall it. The uninstall process failed twice. On the third attempt, it took 18 minutes and removed only the main application, requiring me to manually uninstall the remaining related programs individually.OVERALL REVIEW:I do not recommend this printer. Setup and day-to-day use were far more difficult than they should have been, especially with Bluetooth connectivity. I also have serious concerns about how customer contact information may be handled.
