  Worth the buy, OLED on a budget.

  The G4 product line has to be some of the most impressive tech I've witnessed, the monitor can easily hit 1200 nits peak brightness and with local dimming you rarely notice blooming unless you're inches away from the monitor. The Color accuracy in HDR is beyond phenomenal, I love every second of 240hz smooth gaming and vibrant movie watching with this display.Ver másVer menos

  It’s good.

  Ok, firstly, I got the 240hz Mini led model don’t see enough amen reviews pointing out the exact model these days so there you go. Secondly, the screen i am upgrading from is a 9:10 240hz IPS monitor on my laptop so there you go as well.BIG THINGS:-It’s bright, like at night in a dark room It’ll hurt your eyes bright. Totally capable of handling brighter rooms, i sit with a pretty bright window directly behind me, and it the glare is disused and the screen is perfectly readable.-It’s vibrant, I’ve worked with OLED screens before, and they are fantastic, but i still think in a bang for buck basis this is right on the heels of OLED in terms of at a glance color vibrance and contrast. Color coverage is totally good enough for most ppl gaming or not, and the dimming zones at least for me are totally unnoticeable.-It’s fast, Ok this is one I’m still yet to test myself as I’m waiting on a DisplayPort cable that properly unlocks the 240hz refresh rate, but if my other 240hz screen is anything to go by, It’s gonna be really smooth and snappy. And considering that it’s still totally and comfortably playable over HDMI with more speed critical titles like the finals. I’m expecting it’ll be great on this front.-Ports: it’s got 2 HDMI and 1 DP, and honestly a monitor doesn’t need anything more than that-overall: in my opinion MiniLED was and is OLED for the rest of us, and this is the best example I’ve seen of that.   The best mini-led in it's price range.

  As far as VA panel quality goes, this is the best one I've tested. With far better viewing angles and smear than the similar KTC M26, but slightly worse contrast. The colors are similar between the twoThis monitor has a few odd shortcomings. For instance, you cannot use the full 240hz refresh rate with 10 bit color due to bandwidth limitations, so you have to lower it to 200hz in order to get the full color it is capable of. And the stand is hilariously bad, taking up double the desk space it needs to. This monitor is also weirdly incapable of firmware updates, which is worrying.That said, this monitor performs very well in either SDR or HDR. It does perform worse in HDR than the KTC M27T6, but the local dimming works far better in SDR on this monitor.Ver másVer menos

  Bugged firmware worse than Q27G40XMN

  The entire image gets crushed when HDR is enabled so everything looks wrong. Blacks become purple/gray when HDR is enabled. I own the Q27G3XMN and the Q27G40XMN. Those two Mini-LED monitors have accurate black levels in HDR. This Q27G4ZMN is the newest model and yet it is the only one that ruins HDR like this. I took some photos and labeled them to demonstrate it. The sad part is this monitor almost looks like an OLED if HDR is permanently off. But there is no point in paying this much if you aren't using HDR. For anyone wondering, this model does let you change the brightness when local dimming is set to highest setting. But they broke the HDR this time so it's pointless.I don't know why AOC struggles to make a firmware that functions correctly. This monitor can't be firmware updated so I am forced to return it.Ver másVer menos

  Incredible Value and Performance

  Get it. I'm coming from a LGC1 OLED TV and for a third of the price this monitor keeps pace both in terms of speed and responsiveness and visual fidelity. Just a wonderful product.

  Good Local Dimming implementation but the black smearing made me sick

  The local dimming implementation on this monitor is one of the best on the market currently. You can reasonably use the local dimming in Windows under normal use and there is relatively little haloing or blooming compared to the IPS options. Since it has a VA panel, there is no IPS glow and the screen has a great native contrast ratio. The monitor also comes with an improved ajustifiable stand that takes up less space compared to the previous G3X. The monitor can do 10 bit colors (8bit +FRC) if you change the resolution to 200hz. What's also nice with this monitor is that it comes with an internal power supply, reducing cable clutter and the need for a big external power adapter. The build quality is great and does not feel or look like low quality chinesium. It comes with a 3 year manufacturers warranty. I did not see any dead pixels with this monitor which is absolutely great news!The major deal-breaker with this monitor is the black smearing and terrible viewing angles that come from VA panels in general. This monitor DOES have smearing, and it is noticeable when using dark mode websites like Xitter or looking at black objects in motion. It makes me physically sick to look at and gave me a headache after a short time of use (your mileage may vary, some people are okay with VA panels and their black smearing). I tried every overdrive setting to see if it could fix the black smearing, but unfortunately none of the settings can reduce it to an unnoticeable level This monitor also has terrible viewing angles, and you can notice a gamma shift depending on where you view the monitor from.If you don't mind the black smearing and the other downsides that come with a VA panel, this monitor might be the one for you. I wouldn't recommend this monitor for those who cannot handle the black smearing.Ver másVer menos
