My Robot Friend
We ripped out the carpeting in our house, which I love, but it meant lots of vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping, which I do not love. There were days when it took over two hours to clean the floors of my house & I just got sick of doing it every week. It seemed I just couldn’t stay on top of the dirt because we have pets and no one but me will take their shoes off indoors. Plus, spills, and sticky juice, and baking flour, and leaves, and pet hair, and, and, and…After following a few cleaning influencers online, I learned about floor bots that can both mop and vac! What?! Really?! Sign me up!I settled on Narwal because it seemed as if it had really great rates of customer satisfaction. I chose this model after deciding what features I needed, as well as what I could live without.Since Awesom-O has come to live with us, he has been in frequent use. Probably every 2-3 days. I still mop the floors myself sometimes because I can clean behind open doors & behind toilets & he cannot, but it’s nice that I do not HAVE to worry about this chore all the time. Awesome-O keeps things tidy & presentable. And our house smells clean & fresh because the floors are clean & fresh.In the 102 days he has been here, he has cleaned 41.3k sq. ft, worked 106.4 hours, and performed 101 tasks. This is all information the smart phone app tracks.Detergents cannot be used in the mop water, but you really don’t need them. You can send the bot out as often as you need, so detergents would be redundant. But you could probably put a few drops of essential oil on the mops before putting your robot to work.The dock is larger than what you think. You will need a large space near an outlet.A smart device is needed to run the floor bot. There is a button on the dock, but you need to give commands, and tweak maps of the house, through the app. The unit connects to WiFi.While it is cleaning, if it needs to charge along the way, it will dock and charge before going back out to pick up where it left off. The battery life is pretty good, but if you’re mapping & cleaning for the very first time, it could take AWHILE to complete it all. If you have a large area to cover—again, your bot might need to recharge. If you’re doing in-depth, meticulous cleaning with three mopping passes—it’s probably gonna need to charge up again.You can set a schedule to clean as often as you need. Once this is in place, the bot does it all. Just make sure your water tanks are seen to. Keep the dirty return empty and the clean container filled. Easy.The bot can be a bit loud. When it empties the vac, the unit compresses the dirt, and this is rather loud. The unit has a Do Not Disturb mode so the unit’s voice will not speak.It’s kind of loud for middle of the night use. If you’re a light sleeper, you’ll hear it roaming around and getting in & out of the dock. I like to set mine for when I’m heading out so everything is clean when I return.It’s very smart, and goes around most objects. Mine got hung up on some long curtains one day, and it got under a desk that had cords & pulled some things down.I took it upstairs to clean there (it was more trouble than it was worth, so the plan is to buy a unit for upstairs) and was worried it would tumble down and break, but it didn’t. It got right up to the edge of the top stair, then backed away and continued cleaning. I was really impressed. Just slide the stair toggle over & let the AI take care of the rest.Overall, I really enjoy having this floor bot in the house. Wish I’d bought one sooner.Ver másVer menos

This vacuum/mop system is wonderful! I highly recommend it. This is bi-far the best vacuum and moping system which effectively cleans my floors and carpet. I've always been on the lookout for anything that can lighten my cleaning load.it’s been a real game-changer for my household routine. The self-washing and self-charging features are a huge win. I no longer have to worry about cleaning the mop or making sure it’s charged; it takes care of itself.It moves around furniture and other obstacles smoothly, rarely bumping into anything. It easily navigates tight spaces and corners, making sure every area gets cleaned.Value for Money: Considering all its features and how well it cleans, I think it’s a fantastic investment. It’s made keeping my home clean so much easier and less time-consuming.The robot vacuum was able to map my house successfully, the battery life is a bit longer than my previous robot vacuums, the suction is also great. I saw it go over crumbs in the kitchen and it picked up without any problems, and also has a mop functionality. It has a functioning app, very easy to use. The vacuum is also very quiet. By far, this is my favorite robot vacuum and I’ve tried many as I do not like to go around the house mopping and vacuuming. 10/10 would recommend this model - worth the investment.Overall I could not be happier with this purchase, my home is the cleanest it has been since I’ve first moved in.Ver másVer menos

This model is not as advertised
Extremely disappointed! I have the Freo ultra and absolutely LOVE it. Decided to get this model because it’s advertised as the best for pet owners. I wanted one for each side of the pet/baby gate, and decided this one would be better for the carpeted bedrooms. I was mistaken.1. Does not suction properly. Contacted Narwal and their fix was to replace the roller brush. This was BRAND NEW OUT OF THE BOX, and that was their suggestion after watching a video I sent to them of their product not working.2. The mop function doesn’t have solution that automatically dispenses (like the freo ultra) instead it uses tabs that you drop into the water tank. If the mop cycle only uses 3/4 of the water tank, you are either wasting cleaner by dumping it out or using too much by adding more water and another tab to the water.3. While it does not suction the greatest to pick up pet hair, it will pick up dust and small crumbs. It is then supposed to be suctioned into the base station into a bag that can go a month without having to be changed. This doesn’t work as advertised. I have to manually empty the dust cup from the robot it self as it is not emptied into the base.4. Gets stuck. I’ve had the freo ultra for almost a year and it has never gotten stuck. I have had this one for 2 weeks and it gets stuck almost daily.It will be going back. I do not recommend this model, however the Freo Ultra from C o s t co is amazing.Ver másVer menos

A blessing for “unforgiving” flooring
We bought an 1800s home that was 90% hardwood, but the previous owner made the decision to tear out the hardwood in the kitchen. Unfortunately for us, the flooring we picked to replace it was what I call a very unforgiving. I didn’t realize it until it was too late, but it shows every speck of dust and every muddy paw print. With two dogs, my floors looked like they had not been cleaned in years, but it was being mopped on a daily basis.Enter the Narwal. I’ve included a photo of what the floor looks like today post-clean on a typical winter day in the north (dogs and people running in and out, tracking and mud and snow everywhere). Look at it! It has a shine! In an hour, it will be dull again from the dogs’ next foray into the snowy yard, but right now…glorious! But the best thing is, I no longer care about the dogs tracking up the floor. I can just run the Narwal again. No real extra labor on my part (other than occasionally needing to fill the water container).I want to add a couple of points that I find interesting or that I think people might want to know to make their decision.Both the roller and the side sweeper brushes are meant to prevent hair from getting wound around them. So far I have found this to be true. You can see the videos the manufacturer has provided that show how this works, so I won’t bother to explain it, just point out that I’ve found it does work. I haven’t had to cut any hair out of the roller since I’ve gotten it, and that was previously a weekly thing.It does not self empty after vacuuming. However, it compresses the hair and dirt to take up less space. So while I was emptying my big self-emptying canister (on my Shark) about once a month before, I’ve only actually emptied this smaller dust bin once every one to two weeks. Initially, I was worried that this meant it wasn’t picking up as much debris and hair, but upon review, I discovered the compression factor they describe. You also have the option of using dust collection bags that you can take out and dispose of. To be more environmentally friendly, I have not chosen that option, but for people that may have issues with dust, I’m glad it is an option.It self-cleans and dries the mop pads quite well. I did pick up replacements so that I could wash them, but I’ve needed to wash them with far less frequency than I expected. When I do pull them off to wash, I don’t notice any odor like I was expecting.The mop water is used to both clean the floor and wash the mop pads. I think the majority of the water usage is to clean the pads, however. So you will need to refill that every 2 to 3 mops probably depending on how big your house is. You can use it with or without Narwal cleaner - do not use other cleaners, or you risk the device dying or messing up your floors due to over foaming.My one tip is to use any leftover mop cleaner you may have from your regular mopping, and add a capful into the dirty water bin after you empty and rinse it each time. Because if you do not empty that out every day, the stagnant water WILL be stinky. A little scented floor cleaner has seemed to improve that dramatically for me.Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? RESOUNDINGLY yes. I no longer have to kill myself to have clean floors. And that is the best gift to give myself.

Effort, But Worth It
This thing is very intelligent and a little bit bossy and judgmental. It seems to clean well, but we have three dogs and the state of our floor and prior mopping efforts apparently were not great - I previously vacuumed about 4 times a week but 3 dogs is still a lot of dirt and hair - and this machine let me know. “High dirt detected” pretty much everywhere. As such, the roll brush dirtied easily so there was a lot of “return to base for roll brush cleaning” - and that is a process that takes time and a bit of effort to clean out the dirty water tank and dry bin and rinse everything. Between that and charging, trying to get the whole house done took patience and a very very long time, so I am now in a constant rotation where I use this in the main part of the house daily and other rooms on rotation, and use the regular vacuum everywhere else…daily…just to keep everything looking as good as when I was done with this the first go around. The water tank is clear evidence it is working (and that despite looking clean my floors were gross), and the floors do look visibly cleaner. We have light wood, so the fact it is cleaner is evident, even though it never looked especially dirty. With annoyances and effort aside, it cleans well, and it is quiet (other than the loud voice instructions telling you to fill water or return to base). It’s also self propelled so it’s very easy to push. The battery lasts longer than the water tank and longer than the brush stays clean so I haven’t had too many issues running out of charge. My floors really do look great. However I am spending so much time with this thing that between it and my job, it’s going to have to qualify as my hobby if someone asks what I do for fun. Even with the downsides I would fight someone if they tried to take this away from me, and I definitely would buy it again. I love being able to do mop and vacuum at once and I feel like this is doing better than a quick mop after vacuuming (and honestly I probably would mop a 3-4 times a month despite vacuuming all the flipping time, because I hated it). I am not getting rid of my deep cleaning mop but it’s unlikely to regularly leave the closet - and it doesn’t need to absent needing to get the whole house done without a lot of visits to base for this thing. I haven’t had this puppy long, so I cannot speak to life or reliability long term.

Regret not buying this sooner. A game changer for my life.
I live in an apartment that is about 1,100 sq ft (approx. 100m²). The layout is actually kind of complicated—it’s divided into 8 different rooms/zones (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, etc.). My biggest worry was that a robot would get confused, miss rooms, or just bounce around aimlessly.Out of the box, the setup was super simple—I was up and running in about 15 minutes. The first thing I noticed was the build quality; the robot feels heavy and sturdy, definitely not like some of those cheap, flimsy plastic ones I’ve seen. The base station is also the perfect size. It’s sleek and fits right into the corner of my living room without looking bulky or taking up too much space.Navigation is Smart: The LiDAR mapping is no joke. It mapped out all 8 rooms perfectly on the first run. It navigates between the bedrooms and bathrooms without getting stuck, and the app makes it super easy to tell it to just clean the kitchen after I cook.The "Edge Swing" is a Game Changer: This was the main reason I bought this model. Watching it extend the mop pad to scrub right up against the baseboards and corners is so satisfying. It actually cleans the dead corners that my old robot always missed.Cleaning Power: My kitchen floor gets pretty messy, and the mopping pressure actually lifts dried spots. The vacuum suction is great too—I haven’t had any issues with debris left behind.The Tangle-Free Brush: I was skeptical about the "zero tangle" claim, but it’s legit. I haven't had to cut hair off the roller yet, which used to be my most hated chore with my previous vacuum.Truly Hands-Free: The self-emptying and auto-washing/drying station works perfectly. I basically ignore it for weeks at a time, and my floors stay polished.It handles my multi-room layout effortlessly and leaves my floors squeaky clean.
