  Don't let the reviews scare you off — buttery low-profile that actually feels flat

  The bad reviews make this keyboard out to be some kind of villain, but honestly? Don't let them steer you away.Build quality is amazing. Typing is smooth and buttery. Yes, it's on the louder side — not obnoxiously loud, but there's definitely some thock to it (lol). It just feels great to type on. Paired up with no issues at all, and I'm about to swap in Void switches, which you do have to buy separately.It gives off very Apple-ish vibes — like Apple themselves built this thing.The best part for me is the low profile. This is the first keyboard outside the Lofree Lite that actually feels truly low. Most keyboards claim "low profile" but still have an arch that tilts up a bit, which makes them hard to type on without a wrist rest. Not these. Your wrist can sit comfortably on the desk the whole time, so you don't have to keep your hands floating during long sessions. They do include feet if you want that tilt, but I love the flat-to-desk feel Apple keyboards originally had — it's a more natural position, kind of like typing on a laptop, with way less wrist strain.Good job, Lofree.   Best replacement for the K800

  For those of you looking for a K800 replacement, I wrote this review for you.I promised that if I did find a keyboard out there that I thought was a suitable replacement I would post it on every review of the keyboards I've tried.The Flow 2 100 with Pulse switchesNow this is very different from the K800, but hear me out. I was fixed on the idea that the perfect keyboard had to match the K800 in feel and design. After trying this keyboard I had to rethink that mindset. This is a special keyboard. It's one of those products you know is good as soon as you use it. The keys are easy to press, but your typing remains precise. You can type fast on this keyboard without making mistakes. It sounds thocky, but never annoying or loud, it's quiet === It's pleasurable === Like the K800, it has shine thru lettering, a rarity these days. It has tilt and it's low profile. The chassis is top notch, you won't find a better quality chassis. The only thing that is missing is the standardized layout, so this may be a deal breaker for most and if you don't mind the metal protruding at the right, which I've read is to help dampen the sound. It's expensive, but the quality and performance justifies the cost.Other keyboards I've tried so far:ScissorsLogitech MX MechanicalLogitech K650Logitech K950Cherry Stream WirelessMechanical (Low Profile)Keychron K5 MaxNuphy Air96 v2Flow 100Flow 2 100Satechi SM3None of these feel like the K800. Most of the switches used in keyboards these days have a lighter feel to them. The K800 as you know has that medium to hard key action that let's you know you activated the key, so to speak.So is there a true replacement? Unfortunately no, at least from what I've tried so far, but this is the one keyboard that stood out among the rest. This one won't insult your intelligence. It's truly made for the keyboard enthusiast and for those who have high standards and those who desire quality. This one fits the bill.I still have a few more keyboards I'd like to try out. The Node 100 with Blush Nano switches and again the Nuphy Air96 v2 with Moss switches. The Moss switches are suppose to be their heaviest tactile switch, so this may feel closer to the K800 than the ones I've tried. However, the Flow 2 100 will still be hard to beat.   A Mechanical Heartbreak: The Frustrating Contradictions of the LOFREE Flow2

  A premium peripheral delivers an exceptional typing experience, yet falls short in nearly every other aspect.When setting up a new computer, the keyboard is often the most crucial input device, and it should function flawlessly from the outset. However, the LOFREE Flow2, a 100-key, Space Gray, aluminum alloy, low-profile mechanical keyboard equipped with pulse tactile switches, failed to meet this expectation. Upon unboxing, the physical connection immediately failed due to the incompatibility of the included USB cable. The Bluetooth setup was riddled with flaws, necessitating the use of the Wi-Fi dongle to establish a basic connection until the Bluetooth eventually stabilized.Architecture of InconvenienceUsing this device is an exercise in exasperation. Every time it wakes up, the software asks to identify the keyboard, only to conclude it can’t. The absurdity of the software experience is captured perfectly on screen, where the Mac Keyboard Setup Assistant bizarrely halts the process, claiming a “kensington.com device cannot be identified.” Meanwhile, the Bluetooth pairing menu becomes a congested mess, hanging with multiple duplicate entries for “Flow2-100@Lofree.”Once connected, the physical design reveals baffling choices. The keyboard forehead is placed in the wrong place, the right side, for most of the world. That’s where our mouse goes. In a standard desk arrangement, this extended right-side bezel encroaches awkwardly onto the desk mat, competing for the exact same real estate as the wireless mouse. I also keep accidentally touching the volume control on the side, which doesn’t do anything because I have an audio interface.A Customization BarrierWhile the key placement is good and admirably matches that of a Mac keyboard, the overall layout is bad. There are no delineations between the number pad and the main keyboard, and the function key glyphs and icons are not well thought out or easy to decipher. The ergonomic support is equally lacking; the keyboard risers have only one option, which is simply not enough for the many people who would like more rise.Then comes the astonishing laziness of the software experience. If you want to customize the keyboard at all, you must write in to support to have them send you the configuration file in order to engage with the keyboard via viaapp.com. The black backlighting is dim, offering only two lighting options, and turns off too quickly. To conserve battery, the keyboard backlight goes to sleep every 90 second. Overall, it sucks.Quiet TragedyIt’s a shame that this keyboard is so bad. However, there’s an incredible contradiction at the heart of this frustrating peripheral. Once you get past the right-side-of-your-forehead issue, the dim backlight, the high price, the lack of customization, and the useless volume control, the key billboard actually feels pretty good.This forces a terrible realization. I really don’t want to go back to an Apple keyboard, but I might have to. A keyboard should be a reliable tool, not a daily obstacle course. I think I’m going to return this.

  Flower your expecations

  I had high hopes and expectations for this keyboard and I really wanted it to be my main keyboard. After a couple of weeks using it here is my feedback:The good:1) Overall build quality. Aluminum body. Pleasant sounding keys.2) Connectivity options: 3 BT clients, wireless dongle, wired.3) Functional minimalizm.4) Customer support. Very responsive and helpful as much as they can.The bad:1) BT connectivity issue when using with MacBook Pro (latest OS)2) When plugged in directly via USB, it works well, but the backlight doesn't go to sleep when the computer sleeps or after inactivity. Even after USB power is off, the keyboard still stays lit and unnecessarily drains the battery.3) The charging LED light is too bright and is always on when plugged in. No way to turn it off. It's up facing, very distracting and annoying. I had to cover it with tape!4) Volume control is just bad. It's too sensitive and no tactile response. And works with just a slight delay. I can't get the exact level at once. (e.g. I want 3, but always get either 2 or 4, why can't it stop at 3?). High chance the value changes one stop as the finger is removed, very annoying. And it's easy to accidentally engage it when working with the mouse close to it. I didn't find the way to change the sensitivity. You can only disable it completely.5) Not a uniform click/sound among different keys. That's a minor issue, but a noticeable design flaw for a premium product.6) The build construction, while great and for the most part feels premium, some keycaps are below the quality expectation. Fonts on them don't feel sharp/uniform and the backlight doesn't spread evenly. Making some part more visibly bright, and the other part dim. Not sure if that just the keycaps, or overall design. Not critical, but again, noticeable.7) USB port only on the right (I would prefer left or both for the cable management). Provided USB cable feels cheap. Cables USB-C connection sticks out and theoretically easy to break. Why not provide more flush and premium cable? And it's USB-A to USB-C only. So you need to source your own USB-C adaptor for the computer.8) USB-A wireless dongle in 2026... Good for old computers I guess.9) Customization and firmware update. For a keyboard that is almost $200 with tax, you don't get a brand tool or an easy customization app. The "flow with the flow" is you have yo email them to request to configuration file or a firmware, then download a 3rd party app to update firmware and customize. It worked fine at the end, but the whole process doesn't feel premium.All things considered, it's hard to justify the premium price for what feels like an incomplete product with many cut corners. So either lower your expectations or wait for the updated version.

  It pairs very well with apples

  Advantages: The all-aluminum CNC-machined body has a smooth, high-end feel from the sandblasting, perfectly complementing MacBooks and iPads like family. Like Apple, it features a minimalist style, with an asymmetrical side panel that many people with OCD might dislike, but I find this design unique as it's currently unavailable on the market. The side touch bar is very convenient; a swipe adjusts volume and brightness smoothly without lag. The battery life is also excellent; with the keyboard brightness at only level two, it lasts for about a month.Disadvantages:1: The key feel and sound are inconsistent for each key. At night, some keys produce an annoying echo when pressed. (This is a common issue, as I have two keyboards with the same sound.)2: No keycap puller or keycap puller is included (short-switch keycap pullers are hard to find). The official website doesn't sell keycaps or switches separately, so if some switches break (like the echoing sound), there's no way to replace them.3: Each switch is very difficult to remove; the plastic used isn't hard enough and easily breaks.4. Each switch has a different keyboard character on the back, but they weren't installed correctly at the factory; they were just randomly installed inside the keyboard. For example, the 'a' key is installed on the 'h' key.5. One of my keyboards, purchased elsewhere, had labels on the top left corner indicating wireless, wired, and power off. This one, purchased from Amazon, has none of these labels. How am I supposed to operate it? There's also no detailed product information below. You can see the comparison in my pictures.Summary: This keyboard has a lot of room for improvement. If you bought it for its aesthetics, it's indeed a very good keyboard with a strong, substantial feel. However, it also has several drawbacks, which you'll need to weigh for yourself. If the price were under $100, it would be a better choice.November 26 UpdateThe seller, seeing the issue with the product causing me distress, contacted me immediately. After discussing it with me, they offered me a replacement keyboard. I chose the "Silver, 84-Keys" model because I felt the (Space Gray, 84-Keys) had a common problem, as I had two (Space Gray, 84-Keys) keyboards for comparison.I received the replacement keyboard quickly. It actually looks very nice, especially without the backlighting; the letters on the keys are exceptionally clear and sharp. The all-white color scheme isn't as appealing as the black and white, but after a few days, I find the all-white to be very pleasing to the eye and very simple.The switch issue I had with the Silver keyboard is the same, but I only noticed it on the "S" key, and importantly, I had to get very close to hear the echo. In a quiet environment, many keys on the Space Gray keyboard have an echo, which significantly affects usability.Secondly, I found that the Space Gray keycaps scratch very easily. Even a slight scratch with my fingernail leaves a mark. You can see in my photos that two keys have many scratches. Fortunately, the Silver version's white keys don't have this problem. Hopefully, they'll release space gray keycaps later to address this issue.Also, the Bluetooth standby time isn't great. With the Cherry KW X ULP 2.0, pressing the key twice immediately wakes the keyboard and connects to the computer, while the Flow2 requires three consecutive key presses and a one- or two-second wait to connect via Bluetooth, significantly impacting the user experience.There's also the issue of missing markings on the back of the silver keycaps, so the space gray one seems to be an isolated problem, likely due to insufficient QC inspection.Therefore, I'm revising my rating from 3 stars to 4 stars because the seller was very attentive and quick in resolving the issue. I deducted one star because while the product is indeed very attractive and functional, the quality could still be improved.
