Slim, Attention to Detail, Incredible Protection
I consider myself a bit of a "phone case connoisseur" and have been using Pitaka cases for the last several iterations of the iPhone - most recently, the MagEX Pro Case 3 on my iPhone 14 Pro, reviewed here. What initially drew me to Pitaka was my search to find a stylish, high-durability, lightweight, and THIN case that would last me through the year or two I keep any given generation of iPhone. Aramid fiber cases, such as this one from Pitaka, check all of these boxes, with Pitaka itself providing an unmatched level of quality and attention to detail that really sets them apart.DesignBeginning with the design, the case gets so many things right. The combination of aramid fiber and TPU provides a sleek, stylish case that offers maximum protection for all elements of the iPhone - case, cameras, buttons, switches, and ports while only being EXACTLY as thick as necessary to provide that level of protection. Nice touches include the soft touch inner lining, edge air pockets, chamfered edges, and the matte finish of the case exterior. The case exudes luxury and provides a comfortable and confidence-inspiring grip when on the go. The edges around the camera and the phone face extend ever so slightly beyond the components, allowing just enough depth to add a glass screen protector (for which I always go with ESR - they're excellent).ProtectionI'm confident that this case is nearly indestructible. While I have yet to drop this one, I've dropped prior aramid fiber phone cases many times, and the worst damage I've seen is a tiny blemish on the outer surface, with most drops resulting in no noticeable blemishes at all. This case builds on the strength of the material with the air pockets and soft inner lining to provide a package that I can only assume will provide a durable case and maximum protection for the phone within.Of course, it is always possible to break a screen in a face-down drop with any open-faced phone case. But this, paired with a strong screen protector, should prevent this from happening in all but the most extreme drops.Comparison to MagEZ Case 3 (non-pro version)When I first got my iPhone 14 Pro, I purchased the MagEZ Case 3 (the non-pro version, also on Amazon) as it was the closest match to the case on my previous phone. While the non-pro version doesn't include features such as full edge coverage, air pockets, or the lining, it is still incredibly durable and kept my iPhone 12 protected throughout its life. Beyond that, it is noticeably thinner than this, the pro version, and is definitely one of the thinnest phone cases out there. I've included some pictures with this review that clearly outline the differences. When deciding between the two, I'd suggest the non-pro version if going for as thin a phone case as possible with still-strong protection and the pro version if looking for maximum protection (for instance, if your job is highly active, you do a lot of traveling, etc.) and still want a thin, sleek case that should last for years to come.Ver másVer menos
