Great PoE+ Switch for home or small business
This is an amazing switch for a fraction of the price of the common brands in this space. I got this for my home setup. The intention was to set up a few PoE cameras on the perimeter and link all of that to another wired router.Set-Up - The system is very easy to install and set up. It is pretty much plug and play. For me, routing wires to the cameras was most of the work.Size - This is a perfect size for my networking closet. Anything larger won't fit, but this gets set up snugly.Capacity - It has 8 ports that total support 120W. Each port is rated to 30W individually, which is sufficient for most devices. 120W is enough to run 8 cameras easily, though I feel it may be restricted if you are looking to run a few screens/tablets through it.Functionality - Common features are well implemented. VLAN is easy to set up and configure, and I was able to route all video feeds through a separate VLAN. PoE autorecovery is really helpful in case of any port giving issues and is completely transparent to the user.Features- There are also two SFP ports for higher-speed connectivity.The device is fully compatible with PoE and PoE+ devices and even automatically manages power overflows, so that if it exceeds the limit, it automatically turns off the last powered-on device. This may have an unintended consequence, as the last powered-on device is not the last connected device. Also, be aware that many devices consume more power when they are powered on and may end up in a reboot loop on the device.Ver másVer menos

120W PoE budget with SFP slots at a price that is hard to beat
The Cudy GS1010PS2 is an unmanaged 8-port gigabit PoE+ switch with a 120W total PoE budget, two additional gigabit uplinks, and two SFP slots. Each PoE port supports 802.3af/at and can deliver up to 30W individually. The power supply is integrated rather than an external brick and the metal housing is compact enough for a shelf or rack mount with the included hardware.The front panel has physical DIP switches for three modes. Standard mode is normal switching. VLAN isolation mode prevents the PoE ports from talking to each other while still allowing each to reach the uplinks -- useful for isolating security cameras from each other. Extend mode drops the link to 100Mbps but pushes the PoE range out to 250m, which is handy for long cable runs to remote cameras or access points where throughput is not critical.Build quality is solid. The metal chassis feels substantial and does a good job dissipating heat. The switch runs cool and quiet under normal load. Status LEDs on the front are small and sit under where the ethernet cables plug in, which makes them a bit hard to read when fully cabled up. Minor annoyance but worth mentioning.One thing to understand about the 120W budget is that it is shared across all 8 ports. You cannot run all 8 ports at the full 30W max simultaneously -- that would require 240W. In practice, most PoE devices like security cameras and wireless access points draw 12-15W each, so 120W comfortably powers 8 typical devices. If you are running high-draw devices like PTZ cameras, plan your power budget accordingly. PoE++ (802.3bt) at 60-90W per port is not supported here.The two SFP slots and two non-PoE gigabit uplinks give good flexibility for tying this into an existing network. For the price, getting 8 PoE+ ports with SFP on a metal chassis with an integrated power supply is a strong value. If you need VLAN tagging, port mirroring, or any real management features, look at a managed switch instead. For plug-and-play PoE this does the job well.Ver másVer menos

Good starter hub for home network
The Cudy 8 Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged PoE+ Switch (GS1010PS2) has worked out really well as a beginner home network hub in my small network cabinet. Setup was simple, just mount it, plug in the power, and start connecting devices and it felt like a plug‑and‑play upgrade rather than something that needed a lot of configuration knowledge.The ports and layout make it easy to build a small but capable home network. Having 8 Gigabit PoE+ ports plus the extra uplink and SFP options gives plenty of room for cameras, access points, and other gear without running out of connections right away. Data transfer speeds have been solid and stable, and everything I’ve connected so far has run smoothly.Overall, it’s a great fit for a starter home network: easy hook‑up, suitable connections for a mix of PoE devices and standard Ethernet, and good performance without having to dive into complex management features.Ver másVer menos

Absolutely Tremendous Poe+ Switch
This is a fantastic POE switch that has all the bells and whistles of all the bigger name brands. So I have 6 Access Points at my business and this powers every single one of them with ease. Cudy makes excellent networking equipment and this one is no exception. It’s not overly large so it will fit in a networking cabinet fairly easily. This switch packs 120watts of total power and supports Poe+ devices as well as standard Poe. When you take it out of the box you can see the excellent quality of the switch all the ports are nicely placed on the device and spaced very well from each other. All Ethernet cables snap into the ports easily with very little movement for a good solid connection. The switch is pretty much plug and play and I had all my access points up and running in under 10 minutes and the power is continuous with no fluctuating of power at all. The connections are extremely stable with no noticeable lag or latency, the switch gets warm but not screaming hot like some Poe switches can sometimes do. The SFP uplink ports are extremely nice to have especially if your running a fiber connection as this opens all the other ports for all 8 RJ45 Ethernet connections to be used for your devices. Now this switch is poe but it can also be used as a standard unmanaged switch as well. This switch also supports vlan mode which to me makes this switch excel over the others as vlan is very important in most applications nowadays. The switch also has watchdog which basically which will automatically restart any ports that have any abnormalities on any of the ports I love this feature quite a bit it’s extremely useful to keep your network in tip top condition and also a way to see if there is any issues with your network. For the money this is an excellent value as this is an absolutely impressive Poe+ switch that does everything I need and want it to do and it does it extremely well and I’m so very pleased with it.Ver másVer menos

Quiet and reliable network switch for my PoE cameras, IoT devices, and access point.
I've been using the Cudy PoE+ network switch for a while and I've been very happy with the build quality and reliability of the unit so far. It's really easy to setup as I just have to plug in my uplink and client devices. I appreciate that both of the SFP ports have a cover on them, to protect from debris if not used.I've tested this with multiple PoE cameras, IoT devices, computers, and even a WiFi 7 access point all running off of the switch at the same time without any power budget or networking issues. There's also some dip-switches on there to be able adjust settings and they've been working fine. I've used the Watchdog feature for my PoE cameras and I enabled the VLAN switch to segment my devices to prevent my devices from communicating directly with each other.The unit has been silent since I've had it. Even with the cameras and access points connected, the fans haven't had to kick on. The only time that the fans kicked on was when I first plugged it in and the fans ramped up to the max which certainly was noticeable, but went away after the first 30 seconds.The only small criticism that I would have is that the lights are tiny and hard to see as they are underneath the Ethernet cables. It's not a big deal, but it's an interesting observation. Something also interesting to note is that even devices that would negotiate a 10/100 Mbps connection, such as cameras or IoT devices, would show up as a green color on the network switch. Typically, the ports would show be orange for a 10/100. Again, not a big deal, but just an interesting observation.Overall, I'm very happy with PoE switch so far.
