Endgame-level mouse in a smaller GPX shape, easy to tune with skates
This is a seriously good mouse. I play competitive shooters at a high level, usually in the top portion of the ranked ladder (often just below Top 500 in NA in the games I grind), so I pay close attention to shape, weight balance, skates, and overall build quality. If my main mouse ever failed (Finalmouse Starlight-12 Last Legend), this is the kind of mouse I would be comfortable switching to long-term.Some Logitech context, since I have been through a few of their mice. I started on a Logitech G502 back when I was more casual, then upgraded to the GPX 1 when I got more serious (Overwatch was my main game at the time). The GPX 1 was a huge upgrade. I loved the “eggshell” shape that people call a jack-of-all-trades. Once I moved to the Finalmouse (lighter and better for my grip), the GPX 1 got repurposed as a productivity mouse because it is still extremely comfortable for long sessions and the battery life is excellent. The only downside now is the micro-USB charging, which feels dated.The GPX 2 was the refinement I wanted from the GPX 1. It is basically the same idea, but with USB-C, crisper clicks, and in my experience it feels a bit more solid (my GPX 1 started developing some side creak over time). The GPX 2 is now my main productivity mouse. Polling rate has never been a bottleneck for productivity, so I keep it at 1K Hz and the battery life is great. Logitech rates it around 100 hours at 1K versus about 60 hours at 2K, and I would rather keep the battery life.The GPX 2C is my girlfriend’s gaming mouse since she has smaller hands, but I have used it enough to judge it properly. The compact GPX shape feels more locked-in for my hybrid claw grip (right side of my palm lightly touching the hump) without forcing an awkward grip. It is stable, easy to control, and feels like an endgame shape in a smaller size. It also feels genuinely premium in hand, which is not something I can say about every ultralight.For context on what I have tried outside of Logitech: I tested fingertip mice like the G-Wolves HSK Pro because I wanted to see if fingertip would suit my aim style, but I returned it because it was too straining on my wrist (I have an old wrist injury from a bike accident). I also tried a G-Wolves HTX as a potential replacement. Performance and weight were great, but it felt less premium in hand because of the thin plastic shell used to make it ultra light. Coming from premium mice like the GPX series and the rugged feel of cold magnesium on the Finalmouse, the HTX just could not compare in perceived build quality, which is why I sold it on Facebook Marketplace. The GPX 2C is one of the few lightweight mice I have tried that still feels high quality.Polling rate note: we run the 2C at 2K Hz. Anything higher started feeling like diminishing returns with no noticeable increase in performance, and even 2K does not feel dramatically different from 1K on this mouse. The sensor is just very good either way. I also play on an LG 180 Hz monitor, so I suspect you need a higher refresh-rate setup to get meaningful benefit from very high polling rates.Skates and glide: the stock skates are definitely better than older GPX generations and are completely usable. That said, for competitive shooters, where both tracking and flicking matter, full-size skates still felt like a bit too much friction for our preference during fast tracking. Dot skates helped a lot with smooth tracking and micro-corrections, but there is a trade-off. Dot skates can make the mouse feel slightly more unstable and require more practice and control than full-size skates, especially for stopping power and consistency on flicks.We used Jade Air dot skates (Frankp edition) and tuned the setup. We ended up with 6.5 mm dots in the back and 8 mm dots in the front because 6.5 mm front and back made the front sink too much. We started with the standard dot layout and then added two extra dots at the rear for a little more stability while keeping the glide fast. I also bought an extra set of Corepad Pro full-size skates (from Lethal Gaming Gear) in case she ever wants to switch back to a more controlled feel.We also removed the rear puck and the magnets that hold the puck (by opening the mouse). This makes the mouse slightly more front-heavy, but you get used to it quickly, and it helped the balance feel closer to what we wanted with the dot skates.Condition/value: I bought this used for around $140 and it was basically new. It arrived with the grip tape already installed, and it felt like an easy way to get a near-new mouse for a solid discount. I have also seen it as low as about $125, which is hard to pass up if you were already considering it.Bottom line: the GPX 2C feels premium, the compact shape is excellent for hybrid claw, and it is easy to tune depending on whether you want a faster or more controlled glide. Even though I still main my Finalmouse, this is one of the few mice that feels like a true long-term replacement option.Ver másVer menos
