Owlett dream duo. Must have.
The Owlet Duo was definitely worth the investment. The peace of mind at night knowing our baby is safe is something we couldn’t go without. Having the camera so everything is on one easy to navigate application is nice. The battery life on the “sock” is about 16 hours. Set it on the base station and it recharges during the day. We like being able to track the sleep, oxygen levels, pulse, room temperature/ humidity, and noise levels. The sock and base station have great range allowing use to leave room without false alarms. Knowing our baby is safe means the world to us and allows us to sleep peacefully. A plus was we were able to use our hsa/fsa to pay for this. We have had it for 2 months and recommend it to all our friends. Would make a great shower gift. This could save your baby’s, your family member’s, or a friend’s baby’s life. Works great for us!
If you’re outside the US: go to the app store, change your region to USA, download the app, set it all up, then go back the app store and select your normal region.It was a bit time consuming to set up because the app is not available outside of north america, but once it’s all going, it’s worth every dollar. All the “false alarms” people complain about are most likely because the sock is misplaced. The camera is very helpful as well. We’re not overly anxious parents but I must admit this setup has made things heaps easier.Ver másVer menos

No more anxiety
This sock has put us first time parents at a peace of mind. My post parting anxiety has been through the roof and this has certainly helped with my sleep. It’s easy to use and baby doesn’t mind wearing it. The app is easy to follow and connect fun the camera.

Expensive but does the job but can’t get far from base. Bedrooms upstairs with base and just going to main floor it looses connection

Absolute piece of trash for $400!!!
If I could give it zero stars I would! FTM please don’t buy this product! It broke down in less than 5 months, and return window on Amazon is shorter than all the other baby items you get from the registry. The idea of this product sounds amazing and that’s what got me to buy it. It started out great, until my child started screaming and crying trying to take off the stupid sock at night. My baby is fine wearing stocks and shoes, so I didn’t understand what the problem was until I realized that something was poking on that sock causing discomfort. Alright, I thought, no sock for us, but we can still use the camera, right? Yeah, well that camera slowly started to lose WiFi connection and none of the trouble shooting advice they have listed helped. It also lags like crazy! Sometimes I would watch myself on the live feed doing things with my child and it’s been a minute since we left the room! So it never gave me accurate timing of my child’s movement, I would hear baby cry in the house before camera could notify me about it even with extra sensitive settings! It also drained my phone battery a lot trying to connect all the time. I had to force close the app at least 10 times a day and restart it to get something to work. One day the camera just disconnected completely on its own and that’s when I had enough of it. It’s so frustrating trying to get a good connection with this thing anyway. I thought ok, let me just get a replacement and return this item. Well… Amazon has a short return window for it (for some reason, idk why since it’s a baby item and all the other baby items have extended return windows through Amazon registry, even new camera set has 6 months return window, hmmm…). I was told to contact Owlet directly, which I did and they wanted nothing to do with their malfunctioning equipment. They sent me back to Amazon and we’ve closed the loop. So now I’m stuck with a $400 item that is piece of trash and can’t be returned/refunded. Replacement camera was only $80 and doesn’t require WiFi, doesn’t lag and has a separate parent console unit. Save your money ladies and get something that will actually work! I hope my experience helps others. I can tell I’m not the only person having issues since when I purchased this item it had 4.2 review score and now it’s 3.8, what a shock! :)Ver más

Features need major upgrades
It's a great device that eases anxiety after a BRUE.Pros: Easy to set up and use. Just slip on the sock and it almost immediately will show vitals. It has a sleep session recap and sleep cycle chart that tells you how long baby is awake and in light/deep sleep, which is really nice.Cons: The sock is very sensitive and its bluetooth is really weak, so you have to keep the base within 6 feet of the baby or it won't pick up. This is extremely inconvenient, especially in a $400 product. It would be better if the base was wireless so you could easily move it from room to room without having to plug it in, or better yet, you don’t need to move it at all and it picks up! My house is 1200 and it can’t reach from one bedroom to the next directly across the hall. Having it close to the baby really doesn't work because if the alarm goes off due to connectivity issues it will wake your child up. I wanted the sock so that I would feel at ease letting my baby sleep in her room at night, but since the base (which has the alarm) is in her room, it's pointless, as I won't hear the alarm since it isn't in my room. The only way to get alarms across the house is with the app, but I'm not a fan of using my phone like that so it's unfortunate I'm forced to with this product.Another big complaint is that the app doesn't save sleep cycle trends. As many commenters have complained about, that feature is behind a $10/monthly pay wall. And I agree with them that it's so greedy and ridiculous to add on paid services for a $400 product.Update after 2 weeks: my pros and cons still stand, but there is another issue in that the app will just stop responding to the base. I’m not sure if this affects the alarm, but it prevents you from being able to see any vitals, which is annoying. I attached an image that shows the app when it stops working. The base is on and connected but the app just won’t do anything. This happens more often than it should considering the high price pointVer másVer menos
