Excellent Screen Protector
To be clear, this does not feel like I am writing on paper. However, it makes writing and drawing on the iPad infinitely more enjoyable. The resistance from the surface of the screen protector eliminates the feeling of drawing on smooth glass.I have tried competing products and never liked the quality of the textured screen. This, however, is the closest feeling to drawing on paper than any other product on the market. The inclusion of the precision pen tip helps me see exactly where I am drawing on the screen. The default pen tip of the Apple Pencil feels like drawing with the tip of a crayon, whereas the Astropad custom tip feels like I'm drawing with an ultra fine-tip marker. It replicates the feel of a Micron pen.I have not had any issues with scratches. I question those who get scratches on theirs. Do they press really hard when drawing?It is incredibly easy to install as it just sticks to the screen. Competing products are a headache to install.Love this so much. I'm excited to continue drawing on my iPad with this screen protector and pen tip.Ver másVer menos

Finally feels like writing on real paper
I've been using this paper screen protector with my Apple Pencil for a few weeks now and it's made a huge difference. The texture genuinely feels like writing on paper — smooth but with just enough friction to give you that natural feel. It sticks down cleanly with no bubbles and doesn't interfere with the display clarity at all. The pencil glide is much more controlled compared to the bare glass, which is great when I'm sketching out diagrams and site plans. Install was straightforward and it's held up well without peeling at the edges. Really impressed with the quality for the price. Highly recommend to anyone who does a lot of handwriting or drawing on their iPad.Ver másVer menos

Excellent Screen Guard Premium Quality and Worth the Price
I’ve been really impressed with the Rock Paper Pencil screen guard. The quality is excellent and it truly gives the iPad a much better drawing and writing feel. It adds just the right amount of texture without feeling rough or cheap, and it makes using the Apple Pencil feel much closer to working on real paper. The installation and overall presentation also feel very premium.It is definitely on the expensive side, but I do think it is worth it because of how well it performs. The screen guard feels durable, professional, and thoughtfully made. For artists, note-takers, or anyone who uses their iPad heavily with the Apple Pencil, it really improves the experience.My only small suggestion would be the packaging. While the packaging is beautiful and very fancy, I do wonder if it could be simplified a bit to help control costs. The product itself is what matters most, and I would rather see the same great screen guard at a slightly lower price with more basic packaging.Overall, this is a high quality product that does exactly what it promises. Great surface but with some loss of visual fidelity
Pretty good product. One thing you have to realize is that you’re definitely going to get a loss in clarity and black levels on the screen - that’s unavoidable. The Ipad Pro’s screen is very nice, so at first this will be really noticeable (especially on white backgrounds). there’s a kind of ‘haze’ that is similar to looking at some Kindles or something.Give it some time though and you’ll start to get used to it. The writing texture is WAY BETTER than the bare screen - so if you do a lot of drawing, then you will appreciate the difference.It’s also nice that it comes with 2x ‘ball point’ tips to use, and the protector itself is easy to remove and install (it seems to use really thin magnet strips to connect).Ver másVer menos

The best paper like screen protector I've ever used
Fit perfectly on my iPad model I got it for. The re attach feature is wonderful, you can readjust it so many times, and no bubbles at all. So if you align it wrong, you can always fix it. It does kind of dim the light and colors just a little on your screen, but in my case that makes it much more sensory friendly for when I'm drawing on my iPad for a long time. The pen tip feel against the screen protector is so nice, sounds and feels exactly like paper, and makes me want to draw more on my iPad. Scratches that itch in my brain like I'm drawing/writing on real paper. The pen top fitting any Apple Pencil and Apple Pencil adjacent pens is wonderful! Hands down the best paper like screen protector I've ever used on an iPad, compared to the last brand I used. I'm so glad I skimp out on a cheap alternative worth every penny.-Arin SVer másVer menos

best paper-esque screen protector I've tried
Before this protector, I tried the OMOTON and Paperlike v3. The omoton had a nice texture but absolutely ruined image quality. The paperlike offered a subtle drag rather than a rough texture, with a focus on preserving image quality, but the durability was horrific---it got an imprint from my magic keyboard within a week that I could not clean off (and I am quite careful about not applying pressure with the case closed).The Astropad RPP v3 is not perfect, but it is certainly way more durable than the paperlike. The image quality between the omoton and paperlike; it is similar to the Mothca matte screen protector, which is quite acceptable to me for this type of protector. It has a very good writing feel with the included metal nibs.The main issue is that the part of the protector that clings to the screen is slightly thicker than the rest of the protector. This might be by design to allow air to escape from the gaps, but it also means that there is a slight separation between screen and protector that you can feel when you write close to the edge of the screen.All in all, though it has some minor shortcomings (image quality and the separation issue, though image quality might be a necessary compromise for such protectors) it is the best paper-esque screen protector I've tried.Ver másVer menos
