Truly sheer, lightweight, and my new go-to sunscreen

This is now my number one favorite sunscreen. The reviews were right. It goes on completely sheer with no white cast and feels more like a light serum than a traditional SPF.It absorbs quickly, layers well under makeup, and leaves my skin looking smooth and healthy instead of greasy. Finally a sunscreen that doesn’t burn my eyes!!

I’ve been looking for some SPF for my face for years now, and unfortunately they all end up melting into my eyes somehow and stinging or giving me headaches:(( I’ve recently been using this skincare brand and have been happy with my results and the quality, so I decided to give this product a try as well and I’m so happy!! I’ve been wearing it the last couple days and no stinging or burning my eyes! It also just feels so smooth and light when I apply it, and it goes on super easy and makes the face look healthy and refreshed. Definitely recommend!Ver más

Shockingly Good - Lightweight, Hydrating, No White Cast, and Actually Pleasant to Wear

I almost never reach for Western sunscreens anymore because I usually prefer Korean formulas. I tend to like sunscreens that feel more like skincare — lightweight, hydrating, comfortable, non-greasy, and easy to wear every single day. A lot of American sunscreens still feel heavy, thick, sticky, overly silicone-heavy, or they pill under makeup on my dry mature skin.So honestly, I did not expect to like this nearly as much as I do.This completely surprised me.For reference, I’m 52 with post-menopausal dry mature skin, and sunscreen texture matters a LOT to me because dry skin tends to magnify every flaw in a formula. If a sunscreen is greasy, chalky, heavy, drying, or sits weird on the skin, I notice immediately.This one feels far more modern than I expected from The Ordinary.The texture is lightweight and fluid without feeling watery. It spreads easily, absorbs well, and gives my skin a hydrated, healthy finish without looking greasy or overly shiny. It has more of a skincare-serum feel than a traditional sunscreen feel, which is probably why I enjoy using it so much.Most importantly: it wears well throughout the day.No peeling.No weird rolling.No heavy sunscreen mask feeling.No dryness developing later in the day.I also appreciate that it gives broad spectrum SPF 45 with PA++++ protection, which is important for people concerned about pigmentation and photoaging. As someone very focused on anti-aging skincare, I care just as much about UVA protection as the actual SPF number.Another thing I noticed immediately is that this does NOT leave the heavy white cast or pasty look that many mineral-heavy Western sunscreens leave behind. On my skin it dries down naturally and layers very nicely with skincare underneath.The finish is somewhere between natural and softly dewy. On my dry skin, that is exactly what I want.Fragrance-wise, this is another win for me. It does not have that overpowering “beach sunscreen” smell. If anything, the scent is minimal and fades quickly. That alone makes me more likely to use it consistently.Ingredient-wise, this feels thoughtfully formulated. The “serum sunscreen” name actually makes sense because the formula behaves more like a hydrating skincare product than a traditional sunscreen cream. It feels moisturizing without being heavy, which can be hard to balance.I also appreciate the packaging. The pump is hygienic, easy to use, and practical for daily application. The bottle is simple and clinical-looking in the typical The Ordinary style, but honestly that fits the brand.Who may like this:* People who normally prefer Korean or Japanese sunscreens* Dry or mature skin types* Anyone wanting a lightweight sunscreen that layers well under makeup* People who dislike thick, greasy SPF formulas* Those looking for strong daily UVA/UVB protection without a heavy finishWho may not like it:* If you prefer a completely matte sunscreen, this may feel a little too hydrating* Very oily skin types may want something more oil-controlling* If you only like mineral sunscreens, this is probably not your formulaOverall, I think this is one of the better Western sunscreens I’ve tried in a long time, especially at this price point. I still love many Korean SPFs, but this absolutely earned a place in my rotation because it is comfortable, easy to wear, and feels genuinely modern on the skin.

Great sunscreen for oily people

I have pretty oily skin. This didn't feel greasy or make my makeup slide off. It is such a great deal considering how inexpensive it is! I was looking for something non-mineral (mineral sunscreens are a mess). Wish I could buy a pallet of these

Sunscreen goes on smoothly and does not feel too heavy. Does leave my skin with slight shine appearance.

The best I’ve found at this price point

This is my new go to spf. I find that it is moisturizing enough for my dry skin. I layer hyalauronic acid, then the spf, primer, then go in with my makeup. There is not a strong scent and this is a brand that I trust. It has a shiny look when you first apply it, but layers beautifully under my primer and tinted moisturizer. I don’t even powder down my face and it gives me a nice healthy glow without the greasy look. It’s a small bottle but a thin formula so a little goes a long way.Ver más
