Buen cable, fichas complicadas
El cable excelente. Las fichas que trajo de regalo cat7 no tuve éxito intenté de mil formas y no pude reforzar una conexión. Tuve que colocar las fichas plásticas de cat 5

I'm planning an upgrade to my home network from 1GBase-T to 10GBase-T in anticipation of getting Google Fiber next year. Doing it a little early isn't such a bad thing, because I'll get faster transfers from my NAS to the LAN clients even without having faster Internet.This Soibke 30' length of shielded category 7 Ethernet cable met or exceeded specifications with my limited ability to test it. The cable itself is of very high quality, with no visible blemishes or defects, and seems well worth their sub-$20 asking price.First, I set up a small testbed with an MS-A2 computer and Proxmox 9. I used two 10GBase-T SFP+ modules and spun up a few VMs to talk with each other. Initially I tried to use an Ubuntu 24.04 (Desktop) VM and a Windows 10 Enterprise VM, but I found that the Windows 10 OS just wouldn't get near the theoretical bandwidth limits, so I settled on two Ubuntu 24.04 (Desktop) VMs. (Each VM had four cores and 16GB of RAM.)For the baseline setup, I used a 5' category 8 shielded Ethernet cable between the two ports. Doing an SFTP transfer (up and down) with 10GB (bytes, not bits) of data between the two VMs with the category 8 cable gave me about 757 MB/s up and 805 MB/s down, which isn't bad considering the TLS encryption and the protocol overhead. Thick Shielded Cat7 Ethernet Cable, but CCA Copper-Clad Aluminum wires. Preforms at 2.5Gbps speed
Soibke Cat 7 Ethernet Cable 30ft came in a plastic zip bag. CAT 7 SFTP CABLE 4PR/24AWG GVERIFIED TO PVC ANSI/TOA/EIA 568B printed on the cable. Measured using my ruler, the cable thickness is 6mm with a smooth PVC jacket. The cable is only slightly bendable because of the thick gauge. According to the description it is 24AWG and Triple Shielded which is the specs for CAT7. Unfortunately, it's CCA Copper-Clad Aluminum and not pure copper. The connector plug has metal shielding around the housing sides and a red protective boot with a hard protective tab over the latch.Using this cable for my 2.5Gb Ethernet network to connect NAS server. Direct connection established at 2.5 Gbps (Jumbo Frames 9014 bytes). iperf3 transfer speed of 289.1 MB/s (2.42 Gbits/sec). Windows network file copy at a stable transfer speed of 295 MB/s from Server-PC, which is the real world maximum for 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet.Cat7 isn't a recognized standard by TIA or EIA, but is an ISO/IEC standard. For most networks up to 10Gbits Cat6/6a is fine. One downside is these cables are CCA Copper-Clad Aluminum instead of pure copper wires, so they should NOT be used for PoE operations. They preform fine for just data only connections up to 10Gbps.Ver másVer menos
