The handle and cap make this one head & shoulders above the rest and I don't think it's even close
OK, this thing is normally $39.99. 2 days ago the black one was on sale for $24.99, so wait for them to go on sale if you can.I bought this to get me to drink more water. I drink way too much soda and not enough water. I should be drinking about a gallon a day. This half gallon size seems perfect. I fill it up once in the morning, and once in the late afternoon. No guessing, no measuring. Just fill it, drink, fill it, drink, done. Honestly I wasn't sure how it would go: I drink WAY too much soda. Would I miss it? Yes, but I do toss in a single sports drink electrolyte packet, and I was close to the full gallon on my first day, and my second, so this is actually really helping me.When I bought this, I compared it to 6 or 7 other half-gallon water coolers. Ultimately there were 2 main features that made me buy this one over the others. They all seemed to have 3 wall insulation, all had people that said that they leaked and people that said that they didn't, all kept cold cold and hot hot for at least 12 hours, etc, etc. As I said there were 2 main features that this has above the others that promptede me to get this one:1) The flip out side handles. I thought that this was a cool idea and that this could come in handy. When I got it and filled it up I realized that I was wrong: It's not handy, it's a *necessity*. I honestly couldn't now image a thermos of this size without one. 32oz? Yeah, ok. But 64+? Forget it. Drinking out of this or any other without the side handles is a big PITA, and it's frankly kinda amazing the I didn't see others that had this or a similar feature. I saw 1 other, but I think that too many were reporting that it had leaks.2) The fact that both the straw and wider spout opening are in the same single lid. This seems like a no-brainer, but most of the other brands come with 2 lids, one with a straw, and 1 with a spout. I'm pretty much always drinking with the straw, but there are times (after exercise, for example) when I was to guzzle a bit. Having to unscrew one top, put on another, guzzle, then unscrew that top and put on the straw top again and then have to remember to go wash the spout top. It just seems crazy.For the most part, this has all of the pluses and none of the minuses. Or at least very few. Here are things that would be nice to have that this doesn't have:Another brand had a silicone spout. No hard plastic to accidentally bang your teeth on. This should be standard, but it's not.The big carry handle - Other brands had paracord handles. I would love the ability to remove this big metal handle, and put on a paracord handle. Using this around the house, the big metal handle is just fine, but I could see occasions where a softer, more compact and unobtrusive paracord handle could be an advantage.Maybe a spot where you could attach a carabiner to? IDK, so many of the others have this, and reviewers are saying that they use them. I can't imagine strapping this thing to something else that I'm carrying, it's so bulky and heavy, but some do it, so I thought I'd throw it out there.NONE of these at all outweigh the handle and having both the straw and spout in the same cap. Not even close.If this thing were lost, stolen, or broken somehow, I would definitely buy this one again. I would wait for a sale, but I'd buy this one again over the others. Let's hope it doesn't break any time soon. I've only had it for a few days, but it seems really heavy duty, and this is mostly for in-home use.Ver másVer menos
