Small Price - Big Performance
I purchased this calculator in order to have an inexpensive yet multi-functional one on hand and not having to use my more expensive scientific calculator. I have been very surprised by the functionality, ease of use, and overall quality of this little beast.Casio no longer makes their 991EX model so I'm guessing Casio has released the rights to other manufacturers for use in their manufacturing. This calculator has all the earmarks of being an excellent rendition of the 991EX.It has 552 functions ranging from simple math and fractions calculations to complex numbers, matrix, vector, statistics, distribution, creating spreadsheets, tables, solving equations and inequalities, ratios, handles Algebra I & II courses, geometry, trigonometry and more. Will I use all of these functions - NOPE!! I'm not taking any tests where the speed of this calculator would be in question but I will say it is very fast from my perspective.It is lightweight but does not feel cheaply made and has a slip-on cover when not using the calculator so the keys are not damaged. The cover slides onto the back when in use so it is not lost. For power the calculator has battery and a solar cell. If the light is bright enough, standard room light is fine, the solar provides the power. If it too dark then the battery comes into use as the power supply. Some of the keys appear to have been rearranged/re-located or re-named vs the original Casio 991EX but this is not an issue as it is easy to re-learn the standard key and alternate key locations.It comes with an excellent owners manual, written in very clear and precise English covering the use of the various functions and operating procedures. This was a total surprise as most so many foreign made products owner's manuals, supposedly written in 'English', still require a certain level of translation! This one, however, must have been copied from an accurate prior source. It is thorough and very understandable.I purchased the "Blue" model. If I have any complaints at all it is the color of the 'Blue' used. It's just awful. The face of the keyboard is black, the lettering on the black keys is white so they are very easy to read and the alternate key functions are in a gold color and are likewise easy to see. There is a white outline around each of the keys that I find to be distracting. In time one can get used to it but it does make the face of the calculator appear very busy.Overall I am very pleased with this calculator. It's functionality, ease of use, the feel of the keys and its light weight make this little beast my daily use and easy to carry pocket problem solver. The price is the icing on the cake! Get this calculator. It's perfect for school, middle & high, and college entry and will not break the bank!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.Ver másVer menos
