Competent Mac-compatible hard drive for both original data and backups.
I use a large external hard drive for two purposes: ordinary backup and to keep my very large ripped CD collection of music for which my main computer disc simply doesn't have room. The large size allows backups with multiple versions so I can go back in time if I need to. Belts and braces, an old school idea.My previous drive died suddenly and this was the best cost/size value I could find from a reputable vendor. In the past, I have had trouble with Seagate drives on my various Mac's, but this one worked immediately without a single problem. It is now handling all the relevant backups (there are several including some cloud stuff) and my music. It is quiet and, so far as I can tell, faster than the drive it replaced. It also seems to be interfering far less in other devices and their operations than the old drive did. That may be, however, because the old drive was complaining about being ill before it died completely and this new one is just being "normally" competent.I gave it 5 stars because it is doing what it is supposed to do without causing any trouble. Assuming it doesn't die a week from now, then it was a good buy. Do remember to reformat away from exFAT before using it on a Mac.Ver másVer menos
