Great 1440p upgrade card — strong performance, compact fit, no coil whine
I bought this MSI 5070ti Ventus 3 as a mid-cycle upgrade from an RX 6800 XT rather than doing a full new PC build. My system is a Ryzen 5 5600X in a Cooler Master NR200, paired with a 1440p/165Hz monitor.So far, this RTX 5070 Ti has been exactly what I wanted: a strong high-refresh 1440p card with much better ray tracing and DLSS support than my previous GPU. Cyberpunk 2077 with RT Overdrive is finally VERY playable using DLSS and frame generation, and the card runs much cooler/quieter than expected for a compact case. In my early testing, temps were around the high 60s Celsius with the side panel off.The card is also physically smaller than my old ASUS TUF RX 6800 XT, which made installation easier in an SFF case. Power setup was straightforward using the included adapter, though I’d recommend being careful to fully seat the 16-pin connector and avoid sharp cable bends.The biggest surprise: zero coil whine so far. My previous 6800 XT had very noticeable coil whine at high FPS or heavy AI/compute load, so this was a major improvement.For mid-budget enthusiasts trying to avoid a full rebuild, this is a great bridge card. It gives you modern Nvidia features, strong 1440p performance, CUDA support for local AI experimentation, and excellent power/thermals without jumping to 5080/5090 pricing.Forget the anti-AI frame gen, DLSS naysayers. I would definitely recommend this card.Update:With the side panels reinstalled in my Cooler Master NR200 case, GPU temps maxed at 75c, average temperature reading was 72c. This is a SFF case.
