I didn't plan to buy this until Prime Days made it too inexpensive to put off any longer.
I've wanted a 34 inch (minimum) ultrawide since they first appeared for above a grand six years ago. Over time, prices kept falling but remained too high and now Mini LED is finally here (for some monitors) so I stopped looking completely. Enter Amazon Prime Day... not planning on buying anything, I was flabbergasted to see a bunch of 34" ultrawides under $200. Another brand caught my eye at $189, but the reviews were mixed, at best. After a couple of hours research, including YouTube reviews, I decided to pay a little more but still get an ultrawide monitor under $200. The price was simply too low to pass up.When it arrived, the packaging was great, and setup was easy... but it looked bad when first powered on. The factory settings looked dull and muddled with the the exception of of the terrible color which was way out of balance and over saturated. Since it was late, I went to bed a little disgusted... did I waste my money? The next day I started fiddling with the monitor settings, and now I'm extremely happy: the picture is fantastic, the brightness/contrast pops, the color looks natural, and not a single dead pixel to be found. It's easily the best dedicated computer monitor that I've ever owned. For those who may also wish to attempt perfect picture quality, here are the settings that worked for me:Game Mode:FreeSync Premium: OnDark fieldbright effect: 0Response Time: FastestBrightness/contrast ratio:Brightness: 100Contrast: 30DCR: OffDisplay:HDR: OffSharpness: 6Gamma: Gamma1Color: UserRed: 41Green: 55Blue: 59Scenario mode: StandardThese settings worked fantastic for me.So… do I have any regrets? Yes, I should have bought 3 of these sub $200. Would I have done that during the three Prime Day window… no, I wasn’t expecting the excellent monitor I received at such a low price considering other brands had mixed reviews.Do I have any minor nuisances… yes, the settings toggle switch is too far from the bottom and hard to reach from a normal sitting position (it should have been lower). My other complaints are: the sleep mode indicator flashes instead of turning a steady red or orange, the power brick cable should have been longer to reach the floor, and the Settings Menu should stay onscreen a little longer before disappearing.Ver másVer menos
