5 Stars – Solid Light, Super ImpressedJust unboxed the Godox V1 100S and I’m already loving it. The design is super clean, it feels well built, and it’s surprisingly compact for how powerful it is. Not too heavy at all, which is great if you’re running it on-camera for long shoots.The round flash head gives a much better light spread than the typical rectangle ones. The touchscreen is smooth and way easier to use than digging through buttons. Power-wise, it’s bright—like really bright. I tested it at full power and it fired fast and clean.Also love that it has a rechargeable battery. I’m done dealing with AA batteries that die after a couple shoots. A versatile flash for indoor/outdoor photography!
Godox V100 is a new flash from Godox with 100 Watts of power. The Godox V100 is a significant upgrade over its predecessor flash, offering impressive power and a user-friendly interface. With a maximum output of 100Ws, it offers significantly more power than many other flashes, providing greater flexibility in various shooting conditions. It has a recycle time of approximately 1.7 seconds at full power, which allows to capture multiple pictures rapidly and not miss any photo. Another improvement is it supports High Speed Sync up to 1/8000 second and is compatible with cameras featuring a global shutter up to 1/80,000 second. This is a great feature which allows to use the flash with fast moving subject.One of the biggest challenge I have faced when taking pictures using the on-camera with 85mm or higher focal length lens is that I had to have a gap between the camera and the subject for the lens to properly focus. With this distance, when bouncing the light from the ceiling, the previous flashes were losing power and were not lighting up the subject well. This flash solves that problem with 100 Watts of power. I was able to light the subject well and also use the sub-flash as fill light for reducing the shadows caused by the light bouncing off from the ceiling. This is a great improvement and it changes how I used the flash in during indoor photography.The Godox V100 comes with the flash, carrying case, sub-flash, 2980mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery, USB-C cable, plug and the mounting attachment. The battery is significantly improved from its previous version and is capable of up-to 400 full power flashes in a single charge. The battery also has a USB-C port for charging it using a USB-C wire or other power accessory.It also has a detachable sub-flash, which provides a fill light option for added versatility. It also has a 2W LED modeling lamp with 10 adjustable levels which helps in previewing lighting effects.The flash built quality is improved and it feel like it is built using top quality material. It has a solid and well-made construction, designed to withstand regular use. The hotshoe has been slightly redesigned for improved durability.A full-color, high-sensitivity touchscreen provides a great intuitive interface for changing the settings of the flash. This isalso very useful since the color coding for different channel makes it easy to identify which channel it is synced with. Great Upgrade For my Camera
Title: Good first flash for Sony bodies — simple setup, clear improvement indoorsI shoot on an a7 IV and a7R IV and had never touched a flash before picking up the Godox V100 S. Set-up was painless: charge the battery, slide the unit into the hot-shoe, turn the camera to TTL, and it fires correctly on the very first shot.The little touch screen shows power, mode, and battery at a glance, and tapping around feels more like using a phone than digging through camera menus. What changed right away is my ISO. Evening photos in the living room that used to sit around ISO 3200 now land near ISO 400, which means cleaner files and better color. Pointing the head at a white ceiling gives a soft, even look that works for portraits, food shots, and casual dog photos. Direct flash out of the box is punchy, and adding the small magnetic dome (sold separately) spreads the light a bit if you prefer a gentler effect. Battery life has been solid. Over a long weekend—roughly three hundred mixed-power pops—the indicator still showed one bar. Recharging over USB-C is handy; I plug it in next to my phone and it’s ready the next morning. Recycle time feels just under two seconds at full power, fast enough that the flash keeps up with single-shot family photos and short bursts when the dog starts moving. Physically, the V100 S is taller than the camera prism but doesn’t feel front-heavy. I can carry the camera with one hand and it still fits in a small shoulder bag. For anyone curious about flash but worried it’s complicated, this unit takes the friction out of the process and delivers noticeably cleaner low-light photos from day one.Ver másVer menos

Powerful, well-built, and impressive battery life.
I wanted to wait a while and use this flash a lot before leaving a review. I'm a professional photographer based in Las Vegas, I photograph all the weddings at Formula One when it's here (yes, there's a wedding chapel - with Elvis), I do corporate gigs at various ballrooms and convention centers, as well as company parties at places like Area15 as well as outdoor weddings at sunny daytime events like Vegas Rockabilly weekend. I've been using this V100 as my primary flash for all of the above-mentioned events since December 2025 and I have to say that I am impressed. I just wrapped up EDC 2026 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway where I photographed 76 weddings over 3 nights. (See folder info below). This was a nighttime event with nothing to bounce flash from, so it was just e-TTL direct flash, and I was not using the sub-flash, but as you can see from the photo, I took 6,029 photos over 3 days. I changed the battery once.I'm just gonna let you pause to let that sink in. One battery change for over 6,000 photos (and yes, I used the flash on every photo).I also love the build quality, the flash head stays were you put it and does not flop around when you sling your camera to adjust someone's clothing or hair, or to slam a Red Bull mid gig. I like how you can angle the flash to bounce behind you without having to rotate the head 180 degrees. I like that it's capable of easily overpowering the sun for those days you find yourself doing wedding photos at noon in the desert southwest. The Sub-Flash is also a fantastic idea as well. I can bounce and fill with the same unit?? Yes, Please!!!Now, are there some drawbacks? Sure. The touch-screen controls are nice... right up until they're not. It's far too easy to bump the screen and change settings unless you lock the controls every time. One time this past weekend I realized my photos were WAY too bright, and I'm checking ISO and shutter speed and my aperture, then I realized my flash controls accidentally got set to TTL +2.7 (!!). Oops.Really the screen controls are the only drawback, but they're also a benefit because, let's face it, before this, flash controls were cryptic at best.Ver másVer menos

A wonderful addition to my lighting kit
I've been on the hunt for a speedlite that's both powerful, easy to use and reasonably priced (only an amateur photographer), until I came across the Godox V100.The V100 comes in a sleek white box. You'll find everything you need to get started, including a user guide, a sturdy stand, a battery, a charger, and a super handy carry pouch. The pouch is a nice touch, keeping the V100 safe and sound.The performance within such a lightweight body really blew me away. The V100 is incredibly fast, with a recycle time of just more than 1 sec or so at full power. And with 400 full-power flashes on a single charge, I can shoot all day without worrying about running out of juice.The V100 is also a dream to use. The touchscreen is super responsive, and the design is inline with the X3 remote trigger. I love being able to adjust the settings with both simple swipes and a physical dial.One of my favorite features (and I find the most interesting) is the sub-flash. This detachable accessory is perfect for adding a bit of fill light to my shots, creating a more balanced and professional look.Like most of the speedlites, its flash head can be tilted and swiveled, giving me complete control over the direction of the light. This flexibility is essential for creating a wide range of lighting effects.All in all, the Godox V100 is a must-have for any photographer who wants to up their game. Exceeded Expectations – Best Flash I’ve Used Yet
Absolutely impressed with the V100 flash! I recently shot two weddings back-to-back, and this flash literally saved my life. The recycle time is incredibly fast, and it handled every lighting challenge I threw at it — from dark indoor venues to fast-paced outdoor scenes.The interface is super intuitive, and pairing it with the X3C controller was smooth and easy. I didn’t have to waste time digging through manuals — I was up and running in minutes. The light quality is clean, soft, and flattering, especially on skin tones — perfect for weddings and portrait work.What really stood out was its reliability.
