Great little flash for beginners!
I love this mini flash! It’s super compact but works really well, giving my photos a nice, professional look. It’s perfect if you’re just starting out with photography and want to step up your lighting game. I use it with my Sony ZV-E10, and it works perfectly! Very powerful for its size, great compact flash
I am still getting into photography, and honestly, the Godox iM30 Mini Flash is very powerful for its size. If you are not careful when using it indoors, the output can easily be too strong and result in overexposed photos.That said, considering how small and compact it is, the power this flash delivers is impressive. It is easy to carry, quick to use, and works very well for what it is designed to do.I use it with my Sony ZV-E10, and the combination works great once you get used to controlling the flash output. Overall, it is a solid and very capable mini flash, especially if you want something small but strong.Ver másVer menos

great quality mini flash
great for compact setups but if your lens are a bit long it wont do it. very strong for the size, in casual portraits i dont use more then 1/32.

Worked once then broke
Yes it’s a cheap flash. However it literally worked one time and then broke. It lasted like a month. That’s functionally a disposable flash. That’s $40 per use. It was fun for the single time but this thing ultimately sucks.

Nice little flash - cute and useful - but beware, it is not 'automatic'
This is a cute little flash - and it is a good bit more powerful than any built-in flash I have on any of my cameras, so it is a very handy thing to keep around in the corner of your bag. However, while it is 'compatible' with a lot of cameras, that just means that it will trigger when you hit the shutter. It does not work with any camera's auto-metering systems for flash exposure. So, you will need to experiment a bit to get proper exposure. It does not have a reference chart printed on it anywhere, so you will need to look up the guide number (hint: it's 15) and make yourself a little cheat sheet if you shoot on film. It's pretty easy to just "dial in the right settings" on digital, but if you don't have that instant feedback (and free unlimited shots) you might wind up ruining some shots on a roll of film.A feature this had that I was not expecting (and which I was delighted to find!) is the optical trigger (what used to be called 'slave' function). You can charge this thing up, set the optical trigger mode, and place it where you want a little extra light, and it will flash when it sees your camera's flash. Which is pretty awesome, and can really help properly light things up for you. Even if you just point it straight up to bounce off of the ceiling while you aim your built-in flash at the subject, it will absolutely fill in the shadows and make your photos look nicer. And it's just fun to play with!So - I do recommend this, but more for digital than film, unless you know what a guide number is. If you know what you're doing, it could be quite handy on an old film camera too - but personally I'm still going to need a 'cheat sheet' given how expensive film is these days.Ver másVer menos

An incredible value proposition
As far as run-n-gun flashes for small setups or backup usage, I cannot recommend this enough. It's tiny, light, powerful, and even includes S1 and S2 modes. The rest of the deal is, as expected, barebones - there's (obviously) no IR focusing; nor does it talk to the camera at all, so you'll need to manually cap your shutter speed whereas other flashes will do that for you. But you truly cannot beat it at the price point - the only remotely close competitor I can think of as a Canon user is the 270EXII, which will run you more but does have the ability to tilt up. But if you are happy with this just doing direct / fill flash, you can't get better value, and something like the 90EX is just fully obsolete thanks to this tiny, well-built little wonder.My only frustration with the flash is that it does not have an on/off switch, rather a button you have to hold for 2-3 seconds in order to toggle it on or off. A small gripe, and likely not even an issue for most use cases where you won't need to toggle a flash unit quickly. Apart from that, I just wish Godox would sell the diffuser caps separately, which I either missed or were not available when I ordered.Ver másVer menos
