Surprisingly easy and effective
I bought this as a somewhat skeptical replacement for my nearly 20-year-old Silhouette cutter. I'm new to this machine, but not new to electronic cutting machines, so I had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for.I was honestly surprised by how easy it was to get started. I actually put it off for a while, thinking it was going to be a half day process to get it all figured out.Within about five minutes of opening the box, I had it unboxed, plugged in, connected through the play store app, and cutting one of the included vinyl designs. The machine automatically loaded and aligned the mat, and the app was much more intuitive than I expected. By a HUGE margin.Once I knew the basics worked, I wanted to see how it handled my own artwork. I imported a screenshot of a friend's logo from my phone, used the background removal feature, selected the cut option, and it traced and cut it with very little effort.The only thing that slowed me down was figuring out the difference between "Print then Cut" and "Cut Only," but that was user error, not a problem with the machine. I actually didn't realize it supported Print then Cut, so that ended up being a nice bonus feature.The cutter itself is fast, WAY faster than my old Silhouette, and the cuts were clean on both vinyl and regular printer paper.The included weeding tool is functional, although I'll probably continue using my own tools since I already have a collection from years of crafting that are honestly a lot better.I'm also not entirely sure what the included pen is for, but everything else in the kit was well thought out.Overall, I expected a budget cutter that I'd muddle through because I didn't want to pay big money for a big machine. Instead, I found one that was quick to set up, easy to learn, and shockingly enjoyable to use.I still want to figure out a few more advanced things. The multi color cut thing on a silhouette is really cool and I was surprised this can do the same, but I haven't tested it out yet. But based on my first experience, I'd definitely recommend it.Ver másVer menos
