  It’s fast, I don’t notice any difference between this and the built in SSD on my 2025 mac studio

  I have had very good luck with OWC products over the years (Blue Ray, Drive Bays, cables, etc.) and I am very happy with the build quality (billet aluminum) and performance of this drive. I went with 1TB option in my 2025 Mac Studio 16 core M4 Max because Apples price for the internal SSD upgrade was steep and I don’t want all my storage in one place. This drive was a bargain in comparison and is so fast I cannot perceive the difference is actual performance between them. That said, my heaviest disk usage is from Photoshop. I have this connected to the TB5 Port of my new Anker TB Prime dock which is connected one of my Mac’s TB5 port.Ver másVer menos

  As fast as M4Pro MacBook Pro built-in

  This is a pretty amazing drive. It's as fast as the built-in drive on the M4Pro MacBook Pro 14 (see pictures). Why bother? you ask. Well you get used to the built-in drive on the MacBook. But then when you use an external drive like a Samsung T7 it feels like you are stuck in the mud. Everything runs at 1/10 of the speed. Disk activities on this drive feel as fast as the built-in. The 4TB Samsung costs $280. This drive in 4TB size costs $450. It's also built like a brick and water resistant. It gets warm, but I don't think it's anything to be concerned about.Ver másVer menos

  great super fast drive but I got mine at $499 black friday. glad I got them before price change

  I bought two of these but the price wa sonly $499.00 at the time near Black Friday, but now I see they are near $1200 each , wow that's insane. I would not buy them at that price. glad I got mine at $499.00 . that being said they are extremely fast ssd and I am extremely happy with it since I got it for $499 wait to buy it when it reduces at least down to $599 which is better than $1200 almost.Ver másVer menos

  Drive this disk to the dump

  UPDATE:It stopped working completely after about 2 weeks.It is blazingly hot, and otherwise unresponsive.Zero stars for something shocking, unreasonably expensive. My other new SSD's are performing as expected, but not this one which is twice the price of competition.Original review:Every 2 or 3 days, this decides to shut down and my computer informs me that I ejected the disk incorrectly.It decides to eject itself without me! Unreliable, nonreturnable, of no use to me.Samsung makes a disk just as big, just as fast, and half the price.Avoid this one.Ver másVer menos
