Versatile, Easy to Use, and Nondescript
I use this device all the time. I've used it to record, transcribe, and summarize doctor visits, work-related meetings, genealogy documentation, dreams, RPG sessions, brainstorming sessions, and more. It's versatile and easy to use. For the most part, it's nondescript and most folks don't even notice it. (For the sake of good will, I often inform others when it's in use.)Being able to create unique summary templates to generate effective synopses is another plus to the Plaud. I created one tailored to my RPG sessions, and it allows me to track them for continuity. I created another that provides me with dream summaries that are surprisingly cogent and linear. There are already a host of templates for situations including doctor and/or therapist visits, board meetings, and much more. I even suggested a friend buy one to record interviews with subjects and transcribe the text. The potential uses for a Plaud device are as varied as the people who might use them.For users, two bits of advice I'd give: 1) Keep them charged, since it's easy to lose track of their power level. (That said, they do seem to hold a charge for a very long time, depending on usage.) 2) I'd recommend finding a nice, small case to store it in. My container is metal, so the Plaud clings to the inside (because the device has magnets) which keeps it from jostling around inside.Buy it to document, review, and better understand your life. So practical, so versatile -- a new business essential for my work
I love my Plaud! Its capabilities -- including audio recording, written transcript, and summaries -- are outstanding. It is quick and easy to use. The awesome accessories provide a great deal of versatility in terms of where to place the device. I have been very impressed with the range of audio it can pick up in the room -- even when people talk quietly. My only wish is that I had more confidence that user error would not hinder my ability to record a meeting. So far, it has not been an issue, but I worry that I will press the button one too many times and fail to record a session. Additionally, I would like to automate the transcript and summary generation -- perhaps there is a way to do this, but I haven't quite mastered it.Ver másVer menos

Software Defect / No Support Resolution
Purchased this device as an addition to the PLAUD note for the smaller form factor and multiple attachments. Powered on, paired and tested and the device worked amazing… until it did not. Found the device recording multiple times (on and off charger) and even while sitting on desk with nothing touching it. Thought it was an issue but wanted to give it a chance… this continued recording 6-15 minutes and then doing it again and again. The device activated and recorded conversations it was not meant to and they were loading to the cloud with the WiFi connection. I was doing maintenance to clean out my recordings 2-4x a day. Did the software update and it seemed to fix the issue. It didn’t unfortunately. I attempted to use it to record a one hour session and the light stayed red the entire time, but when I went to review the recording found that it only recorded bits and was starting and stopping itself. I put the device in a hard storage box and inside my desk, when I went to take it home found it active again and finally reached out to support (as I have completed all the help files on the app and online). They were quick to respond, but wanted to check the software. (Software, Serial Number and all other questions they asked were in the support form which are required fields). I sent back screen shots of the device software and received a message back 3 days later saying they were going to reach out to someone to get more info to help fix the issue. Radio silence after that, I sent another email stating that it’s becoming an invasion of my privacy, could cause issues for me at work and needed to be fixed or I would need to return the device. Still nothing. I finally was fed up and sent it back via Amazon and then received an email telling me to send it to them but I needed to take pictures of the entire unit before sending it back, that they would only send me a return label after they approved the images and would refund me (even though I DIDN'T BUY IT FROM THEM).Battery Life was not great (due to it activating and recording when it wanted). The size was amazing (although a bit smaller than I thought it would be. The value of this device if it worked, would be priceless that’s for sure! The device activating - recording conversations (and only sections of them) both when you did and didn’t want it to is a solid NO for me.Support for this product via the app was a joke, they didn’t pay attention to details sent (emails sent back and forth were quick and detailed) but the agent or whomever showed how much the company values their product by not even paying attention to the details provided.PLAUD NotePin is a solid zero stars and I wish I could have given it an actual shot.Save yourself the money and go with the PLAUD Note, it’s been a game changer for me and my life and I have had zero issues with it.To The Company: PLAUDIf you’re going to offer a product ensure it works but even more so value those whom are reporting issues. I stated I would write this review and you still didn’t even attempt to help fix your products clear violation of the users rights. I hope that someone from the companies corporate office sees this review and finds better solutions to their support and faster response times to their new product defects.
