Great once you get it aligned properly

Great versatile product! Has standard camera 1/4-20 thread & square plate "T" camera mounting system. And the lights are interlocking & stack-able.While, most of the Doctors, Dentists, & Veterinarians I know would use this device in their practice, none of them would take the time to set it up for themselves. They would call someone like me to make it work for them. And it is, a bit of a challenge, to set it up. But well worth the effort once it is properly configured and "lock-tite" together.The pre-set-up they have configured for you, right out of the box, was not practical for my phone camera. The lights are in the way of the camera lens. And the white light frames of the fixtures come into view, throwing off the auto focus features in the camera. The photos I have included here are showing it's reconfigured way that worked well for me. Along with having the lights facing slightly outwards. (Unlike the way their photo suggests pointing inward toward each other.)I find it's dim-able "medium color temperature" is sufficient for most closeup situations.The bottom of the handle grip also has a 3/8-16 thread for mounting atop most stage microphone stands or boom arms that have the "dual style" threads.Minus one star for having finger tight thread holes (like most all cameras bodies have) they just don't stay put when hand tightening. But they do include a cute little screwdriver for you to remedy this. And I would have liked the frame to have been one hole wider on overall width.Would work great for anyone that sells items online. For a point & shoot setup. (Although I would recommend a dedicated camera or phone that stayed attached with the light.)You will also need to get a dual port USB charging adapter min 1A up to 3 amps. Two 10" inch USB "C" are included.Phone Bracket: Can handle up to a 3-1/2" width phone (or phone inside it's case)I really like it, once it got setup!Ver más

Terrible Design and Low Quality

Very low quality and the item presses on the phone side buttons when put in the phone holder so no pictures can be taken. When I tried to move the phone holder the screw was placed in at the factory cross threaded and it stripped out the screw hole when I tired to move the phone holder. Does not work and do not recommend. Even if the phone holder was installed properly on a decent quality screw, the opening between the lights is too small to accommodate a phone camera even at the widest setting. Just terrible design. Bright, portable, and perfect for dental photography

This lighting kit works great for intraoral and extraoral photography. The brightness is strong and adjustable, which helps get clear, shadow-free images. The setup feels sturdy but lightweight, and the non-slip grip makes it easy to handle during shooting. It’s compact and comes with a nice storage bag, which makes it easy to carry between the clinic and home. The battery life is solid and charging is quick. Great for up close photos!

It takes a little to get use too, but once properly setup, it takes bright and takes clear photos. It's perfect for up close shots.I love it and highly recommend!

Works exactly as intended

The manual calls this a mobile photography fill light and it really does create a lot of light.It comes with a phone mount so the phone can be mounted next to the lights on the same stand.What I like about this is that it has a threaded mount on the bottom of the grip if you wanted to screw this onto a tripod or longer stick to hold the light with.The lights have a wheel that turns them on and gradually increases the brightness as you turn the wheel. You’ll have more than enough light with this if you’re looking for a fill light or something to light up an area.The lights are rechargeable and have light indicators that show how much battery power is left in them. They also come with the USB C charging wires.The grip to this is very comfortable. It feels like a rubbery cushion material so if you do have to hold this, your hands won’t be aching by the end of your shoot.I think the lights have impressive value if they fit your needs. They seem reliable to work when needed and come with a nice case that is durable enough to keep these in a bag with other equipment.Ver más

So many bad design choices

I was eager to try this out. I often take photos of small items, and lighting is always an issue - when I get close enough to my subject, the phone casts shadows. This seemed like the perfect solution.It really, really isn't. I'm not sure I've ever tried out a product that found so many different ways to infuriate me.COLOR BALANCE (or lack thereof)The details in this listing claim a color temperature of 3000-6000K, implying that it's adjustable. It's not. The user manual gives a color temperature of 5600K and claims a color rendering index (CRI) of 95+.The actual measured color temperature is almost 7700K, with a CRI of 87. There's an enormous blue spike at 450nm. This is far bluer than any other lighting I use.This might be fine for documentation or examination where color isn't important, but it would be nearly impossible to match any ambient lighting, and that rules out a lot of applications for this system.ATTACHMENT POINTSThe lights have a cold-shoe thumbwheel mount, which is fine. The phone mount attaches to the bracket with a thumbwheel as well. But the shoes for the lights, and the clamp to hold the phone, attach with flat-head screws. If you want to adjust the angle of a light, you need to REMOVE the light from the shoe (because it blocks the screw), then use a screwdriver to loosen the screw. Unless you accidentally bumped the light a bit counterclockwise, in which case it's now loose, and you need to remove the light so you can tighten it.If you so much as nudge your phone in a way that rotates the mount, the screw holding the phone bracket loosens, and your phone starts flopping around.The bracket to hold the lights and phone has threaded holes along its length. But only one or two of the holes on each end are usable; otherwise, either there's not enough room between the lights to keep them out of the camera view, or they're interfering with the phone mount.DISASSEMBLY AND STORAGEIn order to get the parts back into the case, you have to completely remove the phone bracket from the bottom bracket. It's held on with a flat-head screw (not a thumbwheel) and two transparent washers. Any bets on how long it will take for those washers to go missing?LIGHT DISTRIBUTIONIf you DO get the whole thing assembled, get your phone mounted, and manage not to knock anything loose, you'll be able to see bright light cast on your subject. But it's distinctly brighter at the bottom of the scene than at the top (or vice versa), because most phone lenses are near one side of the case, which means they're aligned with either the bottom or the top of the lights, not the center. And there's no way to adjust the VERTICAL positioning of the phone or the lights, so there's nothing you can do about it. (I suppose you could mask off the top 2/3 of each light, but that seems less than ideal.)Every one of these issues could have been avoided. They could've picked LEDs with a more natural color temperature, or better yet, made the color temperature adjustable (most of my other lights have adjustable color temperature). They could've used thumbwheels instead of flat-head screws for attachment points. They could have drilled the bracket in such a way that the phone holder doesn't interfere with the spot closest to it. They could've added a mechanism for adjusting the phone's vertical position.As it is, I can imagine OCCASIONALLY being able to use this for photography. I just can't imagine putting up with it.NOT recommended. Save your money and your patience.
