Excellent Treats for Chickens – Big Hit With My Flock!
I purchased the Joyprotyn 10 lb Non-GMO Black Soldier Fly Larvae for my backyard chickens, and they absolutely love them. As soon as they hear the bag open, they come running from all corners of the yard. Even my pickiest birds go crazy for these treats.I appreciate that they are 100% natural and non-GMO, with a high protein content and added calcium to support healthy growth and egg production. The larvae are clean, dry, and consistently sized, with very little dust or broken pieces in the bag. The resealable packaging also helps keep them fresh and makes storage easy. The 10-pound size is a great value compared to smaller bags, especially if you have multiple chickens. I've been using them for training, treats, and encouraging my flock to come when called. They work every time!Ver másVer menos

Awesome product at a great price
Fantastic product at a great price. My hens love it, come running when they see it and has made training them for bedtime a breeze. Listed ingredients are healthy and nutritious and just as digestible as any other product on the market.

Treats for songbirds during spring migration, mating season and beyond!
During mating/fledgling season I buy these Black soldier fly larvae((grubs?) for my songbirds because their calcium content is higher than mealworms. Mixed withpeanuts & suet balls, busy bird parents munch them down fast! They’re a definite hit with the Curve billed Thrashers, Starlings, & others. .They’re a good quality & the best price I’ve found. I expect this 5 pound box to last all the way to summer migration. My neighborhood Roadrunners still prefer mealworms so I have a box of those too. As our feathered friends face habitat loss, I urge all to do what they can to give them a helping hand-it’ll bring you joy too!Ver másVer menos

Awesome soldier fly larvae!
These are awesome! They are tightly packed in so you really get your money's worth. My chickens were a bit upset by these large worms, once our brave senior girl tried them the other 6 soon joined in. It truthfully took over 2 weeks. So give it time if your girls are " chicken" as ours were ; ) These have become their favorite treat, they are leaving the corn we put out and pick these out of the mix we make for them. We live in Maine so it is nice to provide them with something that helps build up their shells while also being more exciting than oyster shell. Especially during these frigid long winter months! Our senior hen had very thin shells which was concerning, two months later supplementing with these we are finally seeing an improvement. I can highly recommend this brand, I've tried the small mixed treat bags and bought these instead and am so happy we did! Those little mixed bags seemed much more appealing to the sparrows and such than to our chickens so this saves so much money in the long run and we can customize and make our own mix that addresses any current needs of our girls. These are currently stored in our kitchen in the original box and inner resealable bag ( which is a bit difficult to reseal). We are moving them to an outside garage and will place this box into a metal garbage can because I believe strongly that any river rats wondering around will smell them and think YUM tasty snacks and easily chew through the box and bag. So basically I will be storing this with our other chicken feed items in rat/ mouse proof containers. We had no heat in the house for over a month so bc of the ridiculously cold kitchen these worms didn't smell too much, now that our heat is fixed,I definitely can smell them. So out to the garage they go ( there was so much snow in front of the garage door we couldn't get in until now ). So yes, I highly recommend these "worms" and found this brand to be a good value with large intact " fresh" ( not spoiled) dried soldier fly larvae. We use a scoop or a used McDonald's cup to get them out of the bag.Ver másVer menos

Wild birds love this heathy treat!
It took a few days but now that the birds know what this is, they can’t get enough. I tried the soaking method but the dried product as is will last longer. There is an unattractive odor but not noticeable to the birds. On the negative side, Do be aware that this will attract rats! They also love this worm full of protein! In order to be rid of them, I have had to use live traps. Excellent product but it can bring in undesirable creatures.Ver másVer menos
