After numerous failed attempts to drill a hole through 3/4 inch steel using an assortment of HSS/carbide bits, I decided to try masonary bits. Success at last. The bits did become dull, but they performed much better than my HSS bits.

Wow I was suprised by the durability of these drill bits. I got them for my husband as the set comes with a variety of sizes. They are sharp which makes it easier to get your hole started. He was pleasantly surprised how nice they were.
