  I love it!

  I don't like wearing wrist watches, so having a smart ring is PERFECT for me! I love how durable it is, it's easy to clean, and the app that comes with it is GREAT! The tracking on this thing is flawless and it uses light sensors to track my vitals, so it doesn't even feel like a smart device, just a regular ring! It also charges very quickly, so if I'm using the bathroom or taking a shower at home, I just pop it on the charger for 10-15 minutes and it's good for a few days! I only do it daily just to establish a good routine, and I have forgotten before and let the battery get low, but still haven't had the power die on me yet!I can see it being an issue for lifting weights since it's coated in stainless still and a little bulky, but otherwise very comfortable for other forms of exercise! I can also see it being a problem because of the red and green light sensors at night, it might be disruptive to light sleepers in a dark room, but I just keep my hands under my blankets or pillows, and I sleep just fine! It doesn't light up all the time, just periodically throughout the night. If the tiny lights at night might bother you, you can probably put a thick sock or a glove over your hand at night to block the light. I'm personally not inconvenienced by it at night, and I like that I can't feel anything when it checks my vitals (heart rate, blood oxygen, temperature, just to name a few).I wound up subscribing to the app anually because I really liked how easy it was to set up and how thorough its analysis was for my overall health.UPDATE:Recently I noticed the ring was draining too fast between charges and I actually needed to charge it everyday! I reached out to customer service via the app, they asked a few questions, and shipped me another one immediately! It was refurbished, not brand new, but it works like new and I would never have known the difference if they didn't tell me! I keep the old one as a backup just in case since they said I don't need to send it back.I basically haven't stopped wearing the Oura ring since I put it on, and I've used it on long walks, swimming (fully submerged in water), and for general daily activities and it works great! I wash it with soap and water when I wash my hands and take it off to give it an.wxtra good wipe down before popping it on the charger or putting it back on!Ver másVer menos

  Worth it, especially with the customer support

  I’ve been wearing my Oura Ring for a little over a year, and I use it every day. I originally bought it for the sleep tracking, but I’ve really come to appreciate the recovery and stress insights too. They help me recognize when I should prioritize rest or be more intentional about getting enough sleep. I also use it with Natural Cycles, which has worked well for me.After about a year, my battery started acting up and the ring wasn’t syncing consistently. I contacted Oura support through the app, and they quickly confirmed the issue and sent me a replacement ring.   Read this review if you are considering the Oura ring!

  Let me start by saying I REALLY wanted to like this ring! I wouldn’t have spent so much money on it if I wasn’t all in!My first disappointment came from, just learning/realizing that the ring did not have the functionality that, I had understood it to have.Does it track your heart rate?Mmmmm… sort of. If you are hoping for it to track your heart rate while you are exercising, you are going to be sorely disappointed. It does heart rate readings every 10 to 30 minutes. No matter what you’re doing. That is one reading every 10 to 30 minutes… Which by the way you have no control of so it might be 10, it might be . So if you’re hoping to capture your peak heart rate while you are exercising, good luck. There is a function where you can record your workout and, I thought maybe that would be a workaround but no, all that really does is, record your path with GPS tracking to give you a visual of the route you took. And it’ll take a couple heart rate readings but, again, not at any meaningful regular interval while you are exercising. There is a manual function to check your heart rate which, has to be selected in the app and then it asks you to stay still for 30 seconds so that it can take your heart rate… And again, if you’re exercising, and you want your heart rate being tracked, you can’t stop everything and pull out your phone every few minutes to force it to take a reading. And, don’t forget, to also stop and be still so that it can take the reading.🤦‍♀️Does it detect when you are stressed?One of the features this ring boasts is, tracking your stress. Supposedly, your body gives off particular signals when you are stressed and, the App puts a lot of focus on the amount of stress that you’ve had during your day. The problem is, it’s wildly inaccurate. It goes further to say that, eating, exercising, or doing things you enjoy can all give off those same signals as stress lol so, it’s not really a very useful metric for anything IMO. It will say I am stressed when I am eating, when I am exercising, but even when I am doing something relaxing and enjoyable like, in my garden interestingly enough, it has correctly detected a few times that I got particular news that sent my stress levels way up. It did pick those up. But, again, how useful is it if, it picks up so much of everything else as stress also 😆 I mean unless you are just a slug and lay around all day, it’s going to report that you had stress throughout the day 🤷‍♀️And how about that subscription? Does the ring give basic metrics without the subscription?No. Big fat no. This is my biggest problem with this ring. I didn’t know if I felt like that the subscription would be valuable enough to me so I made sure before I purchased it that, if I didn’t want the extras of the subscription that the ring would still continue to track the most basic things like, step count. And, it reports that it does do that. HOWEVER, what they fail to mention is that, they don’t make that data available for you to see anywhere anymore lol and, it no longer updates Apple health or whatever other app you are integrating in with. So, it does NOTHING without the subscription. The only thing it will do is give you these silly readiness scores for your day. If it feels like you got a good nights sleep then it will give you a good readiness score for the day and a good sleep score. But you will see absolutely none of the data that went into building that score. No more steps, no more heart rate, no more anything. That’s IT. You can buy a ring for a fraction of the price that gives you all way more functionality, WITHOUT a Subscription. The way they make it sound before you purchase is that the subscription gives you a lot of extras. And I was willing to pay that if I felt like those extras were really valuable but because the data is so wildly inaccurate, I didn’t feel like it was particularly valuable what I thought I was getting as an “extra” From the subscription. Had I known it wouldn’t do the most basic thing to count steps without a subscription, and actually show them to me either in the app or by writing them to Apple health, I would have never purchased this ring.You’ve been warned!   Best ring out there, pricey, no real customer support, touchy feely software.

  Really it's a 4.5 stars from me because the software interface is so wordy & cumbersome to navigate. But this brings some science to your sleep. I'm an insomniac--just a night owl in an early bird world, but this ring really helps me improve my sleep.These are great rings. To me rings are superior to bracelets because I work with my hands & power tools so bracelets are out of the question. These are pricey, but good & offer a ton of colors. They offer a ton of sizes. I get it wet, although I take it off to charge when I bathe/shower. I also remove for dishwashing. It can get wet, but eventually that wears them & at the cost, I'm going to keep it as long as I can. I've gotten the stealth twice & love it's matte finish. It can scratch. You can buy thin tape covers if you're worried about that, or take it off for sanding & scrape potential wear. The sensors seem more sensitive from the Gen 3 to Gen 4--less hand falling asleep data during sleep. I switch which hand it's on in my sleep when I roll over most of the time.I started with Motiv ring (bought by Oura,) so I know how good software could be. The Oura software gets annoying--beginning with the subscription. Not cool, only offered monthly, not one time annual fees, uncool. Then there are the updates: they can stop your ring from uploading or syncing at all, so I suggest you stop new software downloads after 2 or 3 upgrades, and back up your data before any download. Why this is critical--I was getting heart surgery & lost ALL my data & neither I nor my doc was able to access it with my last ring, Gen 3.The AI assistant, like most AI these days, is a means for a company of offering ZERO assistance AND not having to pay anyone who might actually help you. The folks answering emails were helpful before the AI. The AI offers a useless loop. I filed tons of questions & complaints & it never escalated to being responded to by a person. Never helpful. Reddit is your only real customer service with Oura.The gen 4 has improvements to the ring: the batteries are NEVER what they claim, 8 days, no way. 5 & change for me. Although this one is lasting longer than my Gen 3 ever did. The sleep data is more sensitive & accurate with this ring. Some of my family calls it the "no duh ring" as in you wake feeling rough, & the ring tells you why--you barely slept.The software interface is a little silly. I don't want any adjectives. I'd just prefer pure data: numbers like REM, Deep Sleep, HR, HRV, RHR, Temp etc.. It's geared toward anxious folks who need cheerleading & advice; I don't want that. If you need that, you'll love this. The entire section on stress is useless to me & mischaracterizes some situations: like happy endorphins for stress; nope! Very few of us can do much about the stress we face, seeing the report is just annoying. Get rid of it. Or let us get rid of it & keep the features we want from that category. And hiding your temp in the readiness section, which is otherwise totally useless...annoying, Woof!I wish we could customize our categories & presentation so I just got #s, and not their numbers--they give you a score for your sleep, activity, HR, & Readiness. Not universal & metrics aren't available so they're as meaningless as their cheers or suggestions. I wish they listed more work outs. And you used to be able to track your heart rate live while exercising. Not anymore. Why not? It's so basic & people loved it. I want to get to a heart rate & hold it over time, increasingly, but don't get that choice now.Lastly if they made their algorithms public to medical institutions, they could be marketed as a tool for sleep studies & HR for cardiology. Either their algorithms are not up to snuff, or they're insecure.

  Great health gadget

  I have used it for a year now and its a great item to measure your health overall. Battery last 5-6 days average, helpful to prevent burnouts and perform better in your daily basis, comfortable to wear, it doesn't get scratched easy, and it's kinda stylish. Downsides? Its expensive, you need a subscription, and sometimes when software updates loses accuracy. Still this item it may be the best on the market.Ver másVer menos

  Great data, once you're past the paywall. Battery degrades FAST, but warranty support is great

  This has transformed how I view and evaluate my personal health. I love the form factor - I rarely notice its presence, and it lets me wear a regular watch instead of having to always sport around a smartwatch. Battery life was great when I first got it, but after less than a year it only lasts about a day and a half. I like the stealth finish, but BE WARNED: the DLC coating WILL scratch the life out of any glossy surface you use - including your phone screen. ESPECIALLY your phone screen. Wearing this and carrying a phone without a screen protector is a recipe for disaster. Setup was effortless, despite receiving a previously-paired (used) item. The factory reset was easy enough but I wish I had known ahead of time that I was receiving a used product.As I mentioned, the battery longevity leaves quite a bit to be desired. Brand new, I could easily get a week out of it. 10 months later? recharge notifications every other day. Fortunately, all I had to do was go to the AI chatbot on Oura's site, tell it my ring battery sucked, and it pulled the battery health from my account logs. It saw that the battery was draining fast and immediately asked for my address for the replacement. Didn't have to talk to a single person. So big kudos for that.Also, this WILL 100% guaranteed get scratched, no matter what finish you end up with. In reality, the first few scratches will bother you because it's your shiny new expensive health toy, but after a few weeks you stop caring. even scratched to the heavens and back, it doesn't look terrible.One other benefit to note - recently the news has had increasing reports of smart ring batteries swelling while the user is wearing it, getting it stuck on their finger. The Oura Ring does NOT seem to have that problem. All of the affected units used plastic or epoxy inner rings, allowing the battery to breach the ring. Both the inner and outer rings of the Oura Ring are titanium; there is a gasket fitting between the segments that allows the battery to vent in case of failure, but it should not be possible for the battery to exert enough pressure on the titanium inner ring to get it stuck on your finger in a catastrophic failure mode.Overall functionality: +4/5Subscription: -1/5Battery degradation: -3/5Warranty Support: +3/5Wont destroy my finger: +1/5
