Game Changer for ASD/ADHD
I'd like to start off by saying I'm in the medical field and even though I knew about the benefits of taking magnesium, I was reluctant to give it to my kids, especially because they were already on medication for ASD related challenges. Like most kiddos who are on the spectrum, both of mine had trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, and emotional regulation, to name a few. Both have ADHD and can turn an already hectic day into pure chaos when their anxiety gets to them. That being said, I decided to add it to their nighttime routine and for one of them, the daytime routine, as well. The results: totally game changing! If you're a parent of special needs children, you know how difficult it can be to get them calm enough to go to sleep and more importantly, STAY asleep. One of my kiddos always wakes up at least once a night, sometimes multiple times a night. Since I've been giving the magnesium supplement, we have noticed a drastic change in sleep quality, mood, energy, and anxiety. Bedtime routine is a breeze, sleep happens within 30 minutes of taking this tasty stuff, and best of all, we are FINALLY sleeping through the night! The next day, waking up is easy, no lingering side effects of sleepiness and even though my kid is taking a non stimulant for ADHD, I have added this to the morning meds and found a much calmer and more relaxed kiddo throughout the day.So, here's my take on MY experience with this product:PRO's:*Better sleep (falling and staying asleep)*Mood swings are less frequent and have mostly dropped back to "normal" emotions (whatever normal looks like for you)*Energy level is calm. Bouncing off the walls is a thing of the past.*No lethargic side effects during the day. (If you give the full two droppers, there will be a nap, but when given half the dose, just an easy relaxing day will be the results.*Cognitive function improves and focus is likely more successful. The only thing I can think of that might be an issue is if your kids are super sensitive to taste. My youngest is, and can tell when something has an off taste about it. To counter the aversion of taking this supplement, I strongly recommend mixing it with juice. While it does taste pleasant, there is a very subtle aftertaste, kind of earthy, as most vitamins or minerals have. My oldest of the two is a champ and never refuses, but the younger one spits it out. I just add to juice or something fruity and down it goes. All in all, I could kick myself for not adding this supplement to their medication routine sooner, but I'm so happy I finally did. It's been almost 2 months since starting and since day one we have seen nothing but positive changes.Ver másVer menos
