Essential guide to using your dumb phone; user manual

Alright, first off, this is an awesome phone. There are pros and cons to this phone. At a price point of $40-30, you can't go wrong with this phone.Negatives include:-does not have the capability to view large to medium sized pictures.-does not have the capability to view videos (except gifs).-Internet is super slow, works best if forced to be with 2g and 3g rather than 4g, and works best with the following bookmarks: Hourly Forecast (TimeAndDate); 14 day forecast (i.e., 'sunrise/sunset') (TimeAndDate); HttpGoogle.-Push Messages in the Message Settings are best COMPLETELY DISABLED (i.e., "deselected 'Accept push,'" and "Service loading operation = Never).-Other negatives: The weather app doesn't work, so you are forced to use the web browser instead. When I had it shut down, the alarm went off two hours early for whatever reason, so that was super annoying and had me waking up extra tired for no reason. I don't know why the shut down version of the device's clock is two hours earlier than now. I don't even know how that makes any sense.-Other tips and tricks: Facebook is the secret way to access the internet while listening to music/radio at the same time. Short cut keys include: hold up arrow for flashlight, accept and end call keys, any arrow key, holding the star key, holding the zero key, and holding the hash key. It is recommended to set pin one and pin two in security settings (known by your carrier as 'PUK codes' (ask customer service for PUK 1 and PUK 2, and they should be able to give them to you), although this can actually backfire and cause you to disable it, when it comes time for the sim's update from its web servers. You are also able to set a screen lock also.-Messages are limited to a maximum of 200 messages (less if they are over like 160 characters each). So you either have to delete them or back them up every so often so that you can later make room for more messages.-One downside: calling phone numbers back can result in phone numbers being undialable. And that can be a real headache. And sometimes the only way to redial is using the home screen phone number pad and your short term memory of the phone number.-One upside: You can essentially text people just as fast as you would on your dumb phone as you would be able to on a smart phone. The technology is called, 'T9 dictionary'. You enable and disable it via the menu icon (left selection symbol "-") and the hash symbol #. Hold numbers on this screen for the number varients of numbers, and the 1 key is for accessing special characters (along with the star key). Hitting the end key will exit everything without saving, so make sure to experiment with the backspace key, and the left menu for added confidence overall when it comes to saving text messages (rather than deleting them).-Key wake feature keys for when the phone is on standby include: left menu action key '-', center select button, call end button, 0 key, and the hash # key.-The best feature about this phone is the price, so that if it gets destroyed or stolen, price is not the element of concern. Because people are always concerned about this. This phone is also great for people who don't use their phone often, or don't have many social contacts (due to the inability for anything much else than calling and texting through NANPA (although, if you know C programming, perhaps there is a way to hack into the phone I don't know of yet).-There are a lot of minor things that I didn't list here also. Such as: inability to receive cell phone coverage when in all metal buildings, and the fact that audio often plays through the attached earpiece through only one of the earbuds.-Another important note is battery life. Why Phones Evolved

I had forgotten how bad phones used to be until I began using this. The battery on this is horrible. It barely goes a full day and this is without use. It constantly has to be charged.The volume on it is horrible, I hate having to answer calls on it because I know I will not hear most of what the other person is saying.Random numbers have texted me and the messages won’t open so I have these “new” texts I can’t get rid of. I have no idea why or how these texts have occurred.Every 5 seconds it freezes up to “update SIM” which might be a Trello issue but it’s very annoying. It will do this in the middle of use and you have to press the arrow button to go back to use.Honestly I hate this thing and it makes me thank god iPhones exist because once upon a long time ago these are what we had to deal with. But even then I don’t remember my Nokia from 2002 being this bad.The only slightly interesting feature in my opinion is the radio feature. Such an odd and random thing to have on a phone.All in all if I didn’t need this thing I would choose to never use it. It mostly serves to remind me how far we’ve come because my god this phone is awful.Ver más

If need for grounded teenager, kids, and elderly

This works perfectly, especially if you want a phone with no camera. It's exactly what I was looking for. I also recommend this for your kids if they need something so basic and simple with just text and call features. If you need games to kill the battery life if they do anything else, it teaches them that it's not a toy. It's also good for elderly people who have no interest in anything else—just texting and calling, and being able to hear if it rings. However, the call volume is good or bad depending on your hearing. At least for those with hearing issues, this is not a fancy phone, and the price you pay for it is reasonable and good value for what it does. I have T-Mobile service, and my child is grounded from electronics, so it is exactly what I need for that purpose. There is little difficulty using it if you never used an old classic phone or are used to volume and buttons on the sides of the phone, but I grew up with this kind of classic phone, so there were no difficulties. But those who are used to buttons on the side, this one is all in the screen and uses the navigation pad. It's extremely generic and basic; it does not have much option control. For example, for volume settings, it has (silent), meeting (vibrate), normal (25%), indoor (50%), outdoor (100%).Connectivity works for the phone services I use ,it's T-MOBILE. The durability feels okay; I haven't done any drop tests, so I'm not sure. The screen size is okay. Battery life is long; if you use it just for texts and calls, it can last up to two weeks, unless you're texting and calling vividly and that's all you do 24/7, not giving it a chance to cool down or rest, it has no camera or side buttons; it is all controlled within the navigation button and using the screen including everything eles rember it's not a smart phone or touch screen.Ver más
