These are for getting lost in your music.
I've had these for a few months now, and it's time for my review - whatever influence that amounts to, nobody knows. 😝 First, from a comfort standpoint, these are sweeeeeet! The ear pads and head band padding are "buttery and velvety soft" and all that jazz. I only wear these for music listening sessions that last an hour or two, and I feel no discomfort or fatigue. Regarding the sound - I'm no audiophile, but I like good sound, and these over deliver, allowing me to get lost in whatever I'm listening to. Anything Pink Floyd is a big turn on when listening through these. The value, at $148.00 is amazing. I'm surprised Sony would design and equip these with so much of the listening experience they put into their higher end headphones. The noise cancellation is very noticeable, although I rarely need it. A word about the bass - BOOM! If you're considering buying these, no need to hesitate. All systems are go. Enjoy.Ver másVer menos

Great for the average music listener!
This is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. The headphones look nice and overall discreet; not too flashy. The plastic material used on the outside of the headphones as well as the earmuff material has held up very well after around 6 months of frequent use.The earmuffs themselves are very comfortable and cover my ears nicely and provide a good, secure, fit where I don’t have to worry about them falling off if moving around or bending over briefly. Battery life is also excellent, I charge them about once a week if that, although in my use case I typically keep them on max 5 hours at a time, with them being used most days of the week. Your battery life may vary of course depending on your usage.The provided app is nice as it gives access to settings, updates, as well as different EQ settings. I only messed around with the app a few times but don’t really ever use it, but that’s just me.The noise cancellation and transparency features are very nice and well made, transparency mode is very good and is better than my gen 1 AirPods Pros. Noise cancellation is also very good as well and blocks out most noise. Both of these settings are also nicely controlled via a button on the left earmuff (there is a setting for automatic switching which I personally shut off as I found it irritating). There’s also a special mode which is essentially a bass booster mode that’s controlled via a big button on the left earmuff with auditory queues that amplifies the bass nicely. The right earmuff also features a touch pad for gesture-based controls that allow for up/down for volume, skip or repeat track, and can even go forward or backwards in a song. It works pretty good and is convenient!! You can even tap and hold to activate Siri which I imagine would also activate Google Assistant on an Android.As for sound quality I am not an audiophile and am an average consumer when it comes to music but these headphones fit my listening needs perfectly. The sound is very clear and high quality to my ears and as someone who personally enjoys more bass these headphones are perfect for that.The very few negatives I have are I’ve noticed recently that if I rapidly tap down or up my phone’s volume buttons there will be a slight delay in response with the headphones and a few times the headphones will adjust the volume more than the clicks implied; however this could just be a phone/operating system thing rather than the headphones themselves. Another issue I had was with the automatic transparency/noise cancelling switching…I just found it annoying and would switch it to transparency only for it to shortly switch back to noise cancellation. There was also another very odd bug and annoyance that began a few months ago but has since not occurred in about a couple months where the headphones would randomly completely disconnect abruptly without the disconnecting sound playing. It was quite frustrating and my theory is possibly some interference when my Apple Watch would get close to the left earmuff. Whatever caused the issue has since not occurred.Another added unintentional bonus is that wearing these even while not listening to anything provides a nice soothing/calming feeling, good for those who struggle with anxiety or mental health issues.Overall I would absolutely recommend purchasing these!!! As an average audio/music consumer these are perfect for me and the price was very well worth it.Ver másVer menos

These are some phenomenal headphones. I wish they were a little bit louder but if they were I would go deaf. The build quality feels solid although I am a little cautious being the reviews state that the hinges are fragile. The touch controls are awesome. The sound quality is excellent. They have very rich bass especially after using the app to adjust the equalizer. I have had a lot of different headphones over the years and nothing has been better than these. For the cost you can’t beat them. If you’re thinking about buying them go ahead and put them in your cart! You won’t regret it.Ver másVer menos

Good BANG for the buck. Literally
I was looking for a pair of Bluetooth headphones with touch controls that were comfortable, sounded good, and weren't crazy expensive. Unfortunately you're not going to find headphones with touch controls for under $100 but these aren't too expensive at just under $150. I wear gloves a lot at work and they get pretty dirty so touch controls was non negotiable for me. These were the only pair I could find in this price range that checked all the boxes. The touch controls work great and I love that I can swipe in certain directions to change the volume or skip tracks or double tap to pause. They also pause the song if you take them off or lift one earcup off your head. I really like the transparency feature too. It's nice being able to instantly lower the volume, turn off noise cancelling, and let in ambient sound just by putting your palm over then right earcup. That's going to come in handy at work since I need to be able to hear my surroundings. I have been testing these out playing a variety of different songs from different genres and I must say I'm impressed! Everything sounds really good on these headphones! I was messing around with the EQ and ULT settings in the app trying to dial them in and ult1 with the bright EQ sounded great but then I discovered a setting in the app that helps you find the best EQ for your listening taste and it definitely sounds even better now. I have just the right amount of bass without muddying things up and losing clarity in the mid range and high end. Instruments and vocals sound clear and crisp and the bass has a lot of thump without distortion. These are also pretty comfortable and seem to be built well. I don't think I'll have an issue with these breaking any time soon 🤞. The clamp force is strong enough to keep them on your head without crushing your skull lol I think I could wear these for a whole 10 hour shift no problem. I also like that these come with a case. You get a good value for the money. The only reason I didn't give these 5 stars is because there are other headphones that have better sound staging and more clarity, but those are also more expensive. I also don't like leather earpads because they degrade over time and start falling apart but that's the industry standard. I will most likely get velour or fabric replacement pads at some point. Also, these headphones don't actually last 30 hours, at least not with noise cancelling or transparency mode on. They lasted the whole 10 hour shift at work but they were around 30% battery by the end of the day. I mainly had them on transparency mode the whole day and would only turn on noise cancelling occasionally when a loud machine was turned on. But honestly it's hard to complain about these headphones. For $150 there's not many other pairs that give you this much bang for your buck. They are definitely worth the money. They sound great, they're comfortable, and the noise cancelling is pretty good.

Detailed response, I love them
I love these headphones very much. Not too heavy, but very comfortable and big.The sound is above average on normal EQ modes. Nothing extraordinary but is still on the upper end.The bass can be very powerful and some might need to switch between sound profiles depending on genre. Neutral equalizer is good for everything. Bassy profiles are good for everything but muddy songs they don't make great use of sub bass.Their Bluetooth signal is very good.Battery life is Great. I bought these a month or two ago and I've only charged them once hahahThey are loud but not overly so. I'd imagine some people might wish it was louder for really quiet songs or videos. But I'm 100% satisfiedWeird thing, the bass is noticeably less powerful when not on noise cancelling mode. I've heard mixed experiences on this so it might be a bug some of them have.They take some time dialing in on the apps equalizer. I'll tell you what I mean.It has bass modes: off, ult 1, ult 2Off is quite balanced, if not a little bit weak on bass.Ult 1, the perfect mode. This one is strong without causing too much sustained bass that ruins the natural decay of bass samples/synths. This keeps it thumpy and relatively accurate. I have three profiles for ult 1: -2 bass, +4 bass, and +10 bass. I had to have a weaker one for super strong bass in mixesUlt 2, this one overcharges the bass so far into the driver that the decay is a lot slower. This creates an over-compressed and muddy bass. Sometimes creates distortion which is awful for music enthusiasts. It is without a doubt the strongest bass I've ever heard in headphonesMy eq for regular music is the balanced one. My eq for bassy music is dropping the mid a little, dropping high frequencies a lot. It allow me to have max volume bass without compression or hurting my earsVer másVer menos

Thunderous bass !
I brought these headphones to replace my cowin e7 headphones which cost a fraction of what these cost. You get what you pay for. These Sony ult headphones sound amazing! I’m a bass head I listen to lots of hip hop especially songs which I know has lots of low end bass to them. This headset handles it effortlessly. The cowin e7 does not have the bass response these have not even close . Very deep smooth and controlled not overwhelming. The highs and clarity are very good as well. The headsets block out outside noise very well feels like a soundproof vacuum when I put them on. And they are comfortable to wear even for hours at a time . One thing I must say. I use these headsets with my iPhone 14 and especially with older hip hop songs the volume on the phone doesn’t cut it for me. So I ordered a riworal ph400 headphone amplifier 4 channel for like 35 bucks on Amazon. This amp combined with the Sony ult headphones is a game changer far as sound and deep bass is concerned. My iPhone is actually longer than the amp itself but the amp is a half inch thicker.Very small compact size: I get the volume clarity and deep clean bass when I use the amp and headphones together. Too bad amp is not battery powered but it’s a great sounding amp. Djs use this to amplify their headphones in noisy environments. I love the fact the knobs glow different colors very nice illumination! I only turn up the volume about a 1/4 of what’s it’s capable of but it’s plenty loud at that volume! Even at high levels on this amp the Sony ult headphones handle it no problem . For people who use their phone to listen to music with you may want to consider a headphone amp. Should have brought one before when I first got the idea in my head .These Sony headphones are well worth the price !Update : I have used on several occasions and owned them for quite a while now . So like I said previously they sound awesome. Charge lasts for quite a while !! I don’t use the noise canceling feature it drains the battery a lot faster. These block out most outside noise without the feature activated. Only one bad thing with these . On my Samsung 75 inch tv these won’t connect via Bluetooth. I googled it and found an article confirming my suspicions were accurate. Flat screen Samsungs won’t connect via Bluetooth with these ult headsets. I love these headsets!!!

Great and not Great at the same time.
The sound quality and battery life are excellent. These really are great headphones to use. They sound great... the extra bass is nice. We have used them multiple times a week since buying them. Unfortunately the build quality is terrible. very cheap, brittle plastic.I bought two pair about 8 months ago from an electronics store. One for me. One for my wife. We travel. The over the ear noise canceling was GREAT. About a week ago my wife asked me to order another pair. Hers broke where the right side ear piece assembly connects to the head band. I asked her what she did? She said nothing out of the ordinary. She was taking them off and they just snapped. I was thinking, "Sure the just snapped.So, I'm thinking my wife carelessly broke them... and ordered another pair from Amazon for her.The day the new set arrived, I was wearing mine while watching TV. I went to take them off... and snap. Mine broke in the exact same place. Same break after about the same amount of time and use... has to be a build quality issue.Again... aside from that, these truly were some of the best headphones I have ever owned. Unfortunately... they are not very durable.So my rating for the headphones would have been 5 Star... that they break after less than a year makes me want to give them ) stars. 4+ Years Later and Still Better Than Expected
I used to be a big Beats headphone fan, but after my favorite pair finally gave out after years of use, I decided to try these. For the price, these headphones are honestly impressive and I would definitely recommend them.They are a little bigger than I personally prefer, but the noise cancellation, Bluetooth connectivity, sound quality, and bass performance are all there. The ear cushions are actually better than my old Beats, and the overall frame feels more durable and better built.I’ve had these for over 4 years now and they have held up extremely well. I haven’t broken them, scratched them, or had any major issues. For the price, these have been a great investment and have lasted much longer than I expected.Ver másVer menos

Um monstro de bass
Sim incrível pra quem gosta de batidas fortes. Boa qualidade de som e cancelamento de ruído muito bom tbm. Testei quase todos os fones do mercado top de linha, (jbl one tour e tbm o pro 3 , somy xm5, anker space one pro e o anker q30)e esse foi o de longe o q mais me agradou em relação a batidas fortes. Years of wait for my taste of audio finally delivered
These headphones are just bang for the bucks!! Im a basic audio enthusiast and an avid music lover.. My personal taste of audio is a mixed one.. I waited so long and after many years Sony ultimately launched this ULT headphone that perfectly fits my taste of music.. I usually prefer only headphones for listening music and watching movies as they completely cover up your ears and drives powerful audio straight to your sealed ears.. That is a different experience than the in ear or TWS ones.. And I definitely need BASS without any compromise on mid section, the highs, sound to be rich, clean with decent stereo staging.. This one satisfies all that.. I do use EQ to tweak settings for my taste and once setup, hell yeah it is just out of the world!! I dont understand why many reviews downplay music quality like mids, highs, crispness, stereo staging etc but this one does all that with that massive bass too!! Either there are headphones with rich audio clarity but lacks on bass or there are the other bassy ones that makes other aspects sound trash.. But this one for me is an all rounder.. Music which has only rich vocals, string sections without much bass lines too sound soo good same as music with immersive bass.. By bass I dont mean just the upper bass which gives you headache but the really low end rumbles extending deeper to sub 20Hz or even less which you can actually feel.. I feel like Im in an IMAX theatre or somewhere straight into the studios after I put this up.. Even for ppl who dont like bass there is an option to completely switch it off.. For me it works wonders with the first ULT mode.. That is damn impressive.. Everyone whom I asked to listen this was just blown away.. I really love it..I have tried many brands like Sennheiser Momentum plus (diaphragm distortion) even at moderate volume so returned back, then JBL not satisfied with audio quality though had bass, then some new companies like SonicLamb which fakes the bass (No bass less than 40Hz or so but will fake with some artificial vibrations) which I threw to trash.. Finally this is the real and clean one for my budget..I don't even look into Noise cancelling as I mostly listen music only indoors but this actually does a pretty good job and silences the outer noise by almost half.. Most of the times I don't even need it indoors..Likewise i rarely make calls with this but that is pretty good as well..Bluetooth connection and latency is fine for me as I'm not gamer.. Connection is very stable and it can connect two devices at once..Battery is also pretty good so as the charging time..If I have to speak about some cons, the headphone always runs with noise cancelling mode on by default even if you toggle it through headphone control.. Ambient noise mode off does not actually turn off, but the mics work even harder to amplify external noises so that you can hear everything around.. Everytime you have to get the app running and set like while detecting as 'Staying' then completely turn off noise cancelling feature.. As a person who is not interested much on this aspect I don't have to put this extra load to the headphone and I have to switch it off manually through the app everytime..And I also prefer the headphones to be more louder.. Some movies or videos have very low volume and even at highest volume it's not loud enough..But these are manageable and overall I think Sony really nailed with this headphone..!!

Excelente cancelación, materiales no tan buenos y sí o sí hay que ecualizarlos.
El producto es muy bueno para su precio, son muy comodos y ligero, tienen una ajuste en la cabeza firme que hace que incluso puedas recostarte con ellos sin que se vayan para atrás. La cancelación es muy muy buena, muy digna de competir con la gama alta de los mismos. La calidad de los materiales no es tan buena como los de gama alta pero con un minimo de cuidado pueden aguantar muy bien mucho tiempo. Vienen con una funda muy bonita y de buena calidad. Y el sonido, es muy bueno, pero no de fábrica, como es obvio, este producto está muy enfocado en los bajos y estos se empalman en las demas frecuencias, pero ya ecualizados suenan muy muy bien, diría que se pueden acercar mucho a la calidad de unos WH-10000xm5, aunque la escena sonora no es tan "amplia", se sienten un poco cerrados, pero no demasiado, en general es muy buen producto para su precio, para los que se preguntan como ecualizarlos yo recomiendo la siguiente configuración y a partir de ahí cada quien puede buscar su camino:*El modo ULT 1 encendido.*Clear Bass en -5.*400hz en -2.*1khz en +1.*2.5khz en +2.*6.3khz en +1.*16khz en +1.Esto en la aplicación de Sony. Si aparte usan un reproductor como poweramp o cualquier otro que tenga su propio ecualizador, de preferencia de 15 bandas (ISO) recomiendo ajustar tambien de la siguiente manera:*25hz en +2.5.*40hz en +2.5.Esto para darle un empujón en los subgraves y el golpe del bombo sin que ensucien los medios, y también:*63hz en -1.5.*100hz en -3.*160hz en -3.*250hz en -1.5.Esto para que el sonido no suene "embarrado" o "empalmado" y los bajos no se cuelen en las frecuencias medias y opaquen las voces.Es como yo los uso y la vdd ya ecualizados el sonido es muy muy bueno, realmente valen mucho la pena y los recomiendo si no tienen mucho presupuesto y quieren algo de muy buena calidad. :)Ver másVer menos

One month review from a geek.
Amazing headphones for bass lovers. It feels like a subwoofer kept on your head. If you enjoy that, go ahead, you would find nothing as good as these. If that's not your thing, pick JBL Live 780NC. They are much stronger built and have tons of more features.For anybody who is concerned about the HINGE breaking, DON'T WORRY, new batches have solved that problem. I personally visited Sony store and got my hands on these before ordering from Amazon. Found out that old batches had a flawed design. They were brittle (recycled plastic) and broke off. New batches (2026 onwards) come with a re-designed hinge which is not prone to breaking. Build is decent but still plasticy. Not strong if handled roughly.Conclusion: if you handle gadgets with care and don't toss them around, get the Sony. If you don't, get the JBL.Overall a good buy for 10-12 thousand. Great sound. Comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Convenient touch controls. Premium fit and finish. Headphone case is a plus point.Ver másVer menos
