The orange is a lot brighter than I had expected but surprisingly I had no problem going to sleep with it on even though I had a mini migraine. I bought this to use as a night light lol. I love it and even my boyfriend thinks it is great! He even wanted me to keep it on in our dark bedroom when we were chilling in the living room haha I guess he just wanted to see it when passing by the room lol. I do wonder though, based on review photos, if the pink would be a little less bright, and more like a pale warm light which would be nice for my eyes bc I am sensitive to lights sometimes. However, like I said, I went to sleep fine with the bright orange and honestly, my boyfriend and I like the look of the orange better bc it looks more mushroomy than the pink one esp when it’s not in use—it still looks adorable and fun! I think this would make a really great gift for someone too. Yes, it’s kind of expensive but we all kept it bc we like it and we think it’s worth it right? Haha. Plus, it’s like similar in price to ordering takeout for 2 esp through a food delivery app. So that’s how I justify it in my mind lol. Also, as others have mentioned, the materials used feel sturdy, hefty and quality. I will say, my first order had issues so I exchanged for another and this one is much better but still had a minor issue (the screw part of the top ceramic mushroom was not glued centered so it’s off center) but I decided to just keep it bc I don’t like dealing with the packaging it comes in. The foam used to protect the product has these thin stringlike fibers or something all over and so it causes a little mess and I didn’t want to deal with another exchange. The reason for the first exchange was that there were lots of marks on the underside of the orange mushroom top and pools of glaze or glue. The wood base was also scuffed and had scratch marks all over. I thought about keeping it but for the money I decided I wanted/deserved one with less issues so I went through with the exchange. Oh another thing I like is that the cord it comes with is pretty long so I was able to put the mushroom lamp on top of a tall dresser I have in my bedroom. That was a nice touch. If you’re on the fence, I say go for it bc I doubt you’ll regret it hehe.***UPDATE 4/6/25***Felt like I should update this. We use this every night. At first on night 2 or 3 I realized that the light was a bit too strong and I felt like it might be bothering my senior dog baby who sleeps in bed with us. Since then, I did some rearranging and put the lamp on the upper shelf of a black metal bookcase and was pleasantly surprised as it instantly made a huge difference in how much it limited the light being spread throughout the room. Huge improvement if looking to use as nightlight, I would recommend putting it in a slightly enclosed area like on a bookshelf. Beforehand when we first got this, I put it on top of a dresser and there were no “walls” or “ceiling” covering the lamp on top of the dresser, just open space and the light spread throughout the room and was pretty strong. Less than ideal strong. Putting it in the black bookshelf now encloses the lamp on pretty much all sides except the front where we see it so it limits the light spreading and works much better as a nightlight. I am including a photo I took like 2 nights ago before going to sleep. This photo is of the new placement with the lamp enclosed on the top shelf of a black metal bookcase. Hope this helps ppl!
