The detachable brick will usually get hot after a charge, so it's a good idea to frequently detach it after a full charge.Additionally, I got this item used from Amazon in a refurbished condition, and can say it's meeting all my needs! It was in "like-new" condition and sealed in a secure plastic package. Even after owning this one for my Mac, I'm still tempted to get another one for constant phone charging availability.
