Excellent for travel.
Nifty little binoculars. They’re a nice compromise for travel- not tiny (and therefore not very good optics) and not too big and heavy. These won’t fit in your pocket but do have a nice, soft strap to hang them around your neck. They have clear optics with a fairly large field of view so it’s easy to find birds etc and you won’t get tired holding them. I’m quite happy with this purchase and will take them traveling. These are sold as a child’s pair and they would be great for that and as a small woman I find them very useful. The inter pupillary distance goes down to 51 mm so good for small faces. The single hinge at the top makes for easy and more stable adjustment than double hinges. I definitely recommend these for children and adults and the price was VERY reasonable.Ver másVer menos

THE choice for youth binoculars. Outstanding!
I have been an outdoor educator and bird watcher for over 18 years now, and one of my pet peeves has always been finding decent binoculars at a fair price for youth nature programs. I've worked at places that have bought useless toy binoculars that are worse than using toilet paper tubes, and cheap 10x25 pocket binoculars that have far too narrow a field of view for kids to use, are very dim, and have a tiny exit pupil. Both of these options are useless in the field and can turn kids off to using binoculars entirely.In other jobs in the past I got to research and buy binoculars for kids myself- ultimately going with the Vortex Raptor 8.5x32. These are actually quite good for kids as well, but the porro design makes them a little too big for little hands, they were more prone to damage and didn't feel as solid as I would have liked, and the 8.5 magnification was still a bit much for younger kids to handle. Not to mention the price point is higher than the Bantams.In short, as an outdoor educator working with kids, I have been desperately waiting for someone to make something like these Bantams for YEARS. I got to test a pair in the field yesterday, and I am shocked at the quality for the low price. I compared them side by side with my own 8x32 Sightron Blue Sky II (razor sharp bins that have a cult following), and the Bantams surprisingly held their own- they were sharp, bright, easy to focus, no noticeable chromatic abberation, and they feel like they're built like a tank (build quality was actually superior to the Sightrons as far as I can tell.) If I put on my adult birder/optics nerd hat and had to pick them apart, there was a little bit of a learning curve on getting the exit pupil (image) lined up with my eyes with the eye cups extended fully, and there was a slight "rolling ball" distortion at the edges of the image when scanning the landscape. That being said, I would absolutely take these birding myself and be quite happy with their performance. For adults, these are an awesome pair of car or travel binoculars, or would be excellent for any birders with shaky hands who lose too much sharpness with a 8x or 10x magnification.TLDR: Vortex hit an absolute grand slam for quality, rugged binoculars designed for youth at a price that's well below their performance level. They have no business being this good for the price. Now it's time to work 15-20 pairs into our 2026 budget!Ver másVer menos

Lightweight, Easy-to-Use Binoculars With Clear Optics and Solid Build
These binoculars feel lightweight and compact in hand, which makes them easy to carry during longer days outdoors without feeling bulky or tiring. Excellent Quality, Great Value
Let me be clear at the onset: I only use binoculars for stargazing so I have no idea if these are good for hunting or birdwatching. I own a pair of the Vortex Optics Viper HD Roof Prism Binoculars 8x42 and I love them but they are packed in my astronomy kit and kind of heavy for extended use. I wanted a light pair of binoculars for every night use that I could just store in a living room side table and grab and go. After extensive research I settled on the Vortex Bantam. Sure they are marketed for kids and I think these are great for kids use but as an adult I am very happy. Like my other Vortex pair the optics are top shelf and the mechanical focus is smooth as silk. Eye cups adjust for perfect relief. Really surprised how good they are for 20% of the price of my other pair. Sure I sacrifice a little magnification but I can still see all the fun sky objects I love to scan on the regular (Orion Nebula, Sirius, Capella, Betelgeuse, Rigel, Pleiades, Andromeda, Aldebaran, Cassiopeia, and of course the solar system planets). Vortex quality and warranty
Vortex is a very well known quality product with an excellent lifetime warranty. This binocular can be used by youth as well as for adults. High quality for the money. The image is excellent for this price of binoculars. Great eye relief of 18.7mm--needed for those wearing eyeglasses. Focus is smooth and precise. Nice binoculars for backpacking, light weight for travel, well as at home viewing.Ver másVer menos

Great for taking on family vacations.
These are great binoculars for vacations! I've taken them on several vacations so far and the quality and usability is very good, while still being cheap enough that I won't cry if my kids lose them. They are also great for getting a better look at animals that pass through the yard.Before these I had tried more powerful binoculars but found the high magnification to be disorienting.I've purchased two pairs so far, but might order more.Ver másVer menos
