Fabulous Furnace filters
UPDATE 8/12/2024:I feel the need to UPDATE my review. I noticed 2 important things to share.- 1) The tight weave of this disposable filter gets MUCH more dirty that any other filter I've ever used in my 41 years of homeownership. This happened MUCH sooner than perviously experienced.- 2) This level of MERV may be wrong for my system.When installing a new filter, I write the future CHANGE DATE on the cardboard grid that runs across the face of the filter. *Its my understanding that 45 days is the time frame for that.My filters are visible "full" of dark particles and pollutants in under 30 days.I've never noticed such dark filters before. You may think, ... "well that's great; the filter is doing its job.!" Now, I'm not so sure.I don't have an HVAC background, and may may have mistakenly chosen a filter with a MERV level that's too high.All summer long, I've noticed that my interior humidity feels higher than normal, to the point of feeling very uncomfortable.I purchased 2 different dehumidifiers to adjust the situation.I made sure that the pathway for air intake is unobstructed.But, ... all in all, I think this filter is TOO dense and is inhibiting my HVAC intake.My system was installed in 2020 into a new 1500sqft condo, free from from pets, free from burning cancles/smoking, and I keep doors & windows closed the majority of time.Yet.... The amount of particulates the filter is capturing seems significantly high.I will not purchase this high of a MERV level again. At this price, I will purchase a "forever" filter that is simply cleaned with a garden hose to be reused again and again.Karen Godbey, 8-12-2024____________________________________These filters capture an amazing amount of airborne particles. When ready to replace, there is a visible layer of dark particles on the filter that easily tells me to change them.I label the filters with the date of installation, and the date to replace.Similar to your clothes dryer’s filter, this furnace filter collects the airborne particles so I don’t of inhale them.I’ve purchased several different rating levels and feel that this level is perfect for my condo environment of non-smoking with no pets. The allergens are filtered well. The dust on furniture is very minimal.I love these filters and highly recommend them.Ver másVer menos
