5 stars try it out
I used this product today at my professional dog grooming job. I would rate this five stars. The dogs loved it. It made my job very easy. The dogs were very relaxed after the nail trimming process. This device is very quiet. I’m not sure how it would work on large German shepherds to say or dogs with thick nails, but it definitely worked on medium too small dogs easy. The light also helps a lot. Very easy to use and I felt safe using this on dogs. Started by trimming just the very tip off with the provided clippers, and then buffing it out and it makes the nails look very good.Ver másVer menos

It’s pretty darn quiet
Here's a version that feels more like something written by someone who's reviewed a lot of products on Amazon—more personal, a little opinionated, and less "perfect."I'm usually pretty skeptical of products that make a big deal about being "whisper quiet," because in my experience they're almost never as quiet as advertised. In this case, though, I'll give them credit—they weren't exaggerating.We have one dog that's an absolute nervous wreck. He can't be crated, goes into full panic mode during thunderstorms, and doesn't tolerate loud noises at all. When my wife brought this grinder out, I told her there was no way it was going to happen. I figured she'd turn it on, he'd hear it, and we'd spend the next ten minutes trying to coax him out from under the bed.Instead, he just sat there while she did his nails. I was honestly shocked. If you have a dog that's sensitive to noise, that's probably the biggest selling point of this grinder.As for how it works, the grinding bit does a nice job. It's not going to chew through nails in a few seconds, but I actually see that as a good thing. It removes material at a steady pace, which makes it easier to avoid taking off too much, especially if your dog isn't thrilled about having their feet handled.The dust guard is another feature I wasn't expecting to care about, but it actually helps. It catches most of the nail filings if you're able to leave it on while grinding. You're still going to end up with some nail dust, but a lot less than you'd have otherwise.The LEDs are also more useful than I expected. They light up the nail well enough that it's easier to see what you're doing, especially when you're getting close to the quick. The only downside is they also highlight the cloud of nail dust you're making—but I'd rather see what I'm doing than not.So far we've used it on two of our three dogs, and it's done exactly what we hoped it would. Time will tell how it holds up, but my first impression has been very positive. The fact that our most anxious dog tolerated it without a fight says more than anything else I could write.I think this reads much more like a genuine Amazon review: it has a little skepticism up front, some humor, a few small asides, and avoids sounding overly polished or like it's trying to hit every marketing point.Ver másVer menos

A Great Nail Clipper & Nail Grinder combo at an Awesome Price!
I had tried 2 different brand nail grinders and they were junk! I returned them within a few days. So I was very pleasantly surprised with the very high quality and performance of this manufacturer's products. The clippers are sharp and clip very well. The grinder is very smooth & quiet but really powerful. It grinds the nails down in about 10 seconds per nail on my German Shepherd with medium sized nails. You can actually see the ground nail dust flying off the wheel. As you can see, my GSD shows no discomfort, pain or fear. Many dogs will be nervous with a grinder. Don't immediately give up and return the grinder. Have a bag of small treats. Turn the grinder on and hold it near their ear and give treats to calm & distract them. Then turn the grinder on (with cap on) and touch their feet so they feel the gentle vibrations and reward wih treats. Then slide the running grinder up the outside of their legs rewarding & distract them with treats. If that goes well with the grinder running (cap on) I would slide it over their whole body EXCEPT for their head. The vibrations on the skull might scare them. Depending how much they relax, you can try grinding a nail. When I first started with Daisy (in video) I gave a very small (meat) treat before and then after each nail so it was about 16 treats. After the 1st couple of times I now give her one treat and then one after each foot and in return as you can see she is calm and cooperative. Also when you 1st start, it's better to take very little off of the nails and do it every few days and when you dog is accepting you can grind down a larger amount. I grind Daily's once a week when I give her a good brushing. To be successful you have to do "baby steps" like i have mentioned above. If you hurt or scare your dog by being too aggressive or impatient in the beginning you will ALWAYS be struggling to clip or grind your dogs nails. You have to realize noise & vibrations are foreign to dogs. If you start slow, your dog will trust you. I just tell Daisy it's "grind nails time" and she jumps on the table and lays down. I know you will really like the quality & performance of this company's product. I almost forgot. I use a nail clipper on my own nails but there is always a rough edge from the clipper. Looking at what it does to Daisy's nails, I decided to try it on mine. I took off the small/medium nail guard and instantly ground smooth the nail edges. A few times I hit my finger tip and as in my video, the grinding wheel is so smooth that it doesn't hurt skin at all. There are two wheels so you can use 1 for your pets and 1 for your family members. Buy this product, you will love it!

Great dog nail grinder. Could be perfect with a few improvements.
This is a really great dog nail trimmer. It is super quiet and is very easy to use. It feels comfortable in the hand but could be slightly more comfortable if the plastic handle was a soft rubber. But it still feels good. Seems to be made well. Normal plastic for the construction. It looks good and performs great. The only things that would make it better is if it had reverse switch and and the light button was moved. Since there is no reverse, I need to change how I hold the grinder and then I usually accidentally hit the light button. If there was a clockwise rotation and counterclockwise rotation switch, that would be great. But these are just things that I guess are nitpicking. It’s a great grinder. The guard is good but just be careful because the nail of smaller dogs could get wedged between the guard and the grinder but the wheel will stop. I usually use it without the guard. I would definitely buy this again if I needed one. The clippers are ok. The nail file, not so much.Ver másVer menos

Works really well!
Very easy to use at home. We have 3 dogs and the closest groomer is over 30 minutes away. Although our groomer is willing to come here, it's just easier with my erratic schedule and it will save me a lot over time for sure!! I have only used it once for each of our 3 dogs and at the lowest setting. The lights help too! Much less stress doing it at home than loading them in the car and taking them 1 at a time inside.Ver másVer menos

PHENOMENAL Dog Nail Grinder (after 9 years of torture with clippers...never going back)
I am absolutely floored by how well and painless this grinder works! A lil background: I've spent 9 years trimming her nails and -- because all her nails are black -- despite my absolute best efforts with regular clippers (even with that so-called "safety guard," which is ABSOLUTELY useless because it's an astounding 4MM+ "guard" space, which almost guarantees a bloodbath), I sometimes make her nails bleed because there's absolutely no telling how close to the quick I am. I usually only clip off like 1-2 millimeters or whatnot and the quick may be RIGHT THERE... or it may be 3 mm higher... it's an utter crapshoot every time. All that to say, my dog absolutely DREADED nail trimming time -- maybe even worse than I did, which is A LOT.Anyway, I pulled this nail grinder out and when she figured out what we were about to do, she looked as dreadful as she usually does at mani/pedi time. But after I was grinding for a few seconds, she actually relaxed a bit which she's never done while I'm workin on her toes. My face was all up in there, as it usually is so I can get a look at what I'm doing, but this time I could actually SEE the quick emerging as I was grinding around the nail tips -- because these trimmers have a little well positioned flashlight shining right out the grinding end! And -- I could FEEL the trimmer hitting the quick, when I was smoothing out the nail areas around it, but it wasn't making it bleed. The grinder feels differently when you're grinding on the nail vs. the quick. I don't know how or why, but the diamond wheel/tip is coarse enough to blaze through the nail structure sufficiently well, but you can grind it on the quick and it won't actually damage it. I can tell when my dog feels pain -- she jolts, and looks at me straight in the eye like I'm sending her to the gas chamber -- but with this, even when it hit the quick every now and then, she was still relaxed, and made NO eye contact! She just stayed laying down, calm, her body wasn't tense. I trimmed her nails again for a second round this week and she was notably even more chill than the first time! Man, I seriously wish I had this thing for the last decade, I've been missing out. I'll never go back to nail clippers again.Ver más
