It’s been good so far

I’ve been reading reviews and descriptions for months. Finally decided to take a chance on this cordless one - mainly b/c of brand name. Already have a corded one and really like it except for that darn cord! So far so good. I was a bit surprised at the smallness of the blade but so far, it has not disappointed. Keep it in the cradle, though not engaged to charge all the time. Figured the battery might last longer that way. It’s easy to engage the blade part and easy to clean. No complaints. Replaces about half of my bigger appliance use

I still have my big stand mixer, but I find that many of the smaller chores I used it for are accomplished quite nicely by this little gadget. It also makes quick work of the smaller jobs I used to use hand tools for, like a small bowl of sauce on the verge of curdling, a batch of pancake batter, or making a fruit puree, a feature I really appreciate now that my hands are a bit stiff. It's heavier than I anticipated-- that's the difference between having a battery and a plug-in cord-- but not too much so. The double controls are a great safety feature, and the variable speed is reliable. The business end comes off easily for a quick rinse in the sink, or a trip through the dishwasher. I've asked Santa to get me some of the attachments!Ver más

Broke after 2 months

Worked great but broke after 2 months. Motor worked but the blade didn't spin. Got in touch with customer service but it was hard to pin down the correct agent. They transferred from one agent to the next then back to an agent I had already spoken to. It was like they wanted me to give up. Finally I got to someone who said they would send out a replacement. They said it would arrive in 3 weeks.. Three months later NOTHING. I guess in the end they got what they wanted. I give up.Ver más

High quality cordless immersion blender - Vortex could be better - Expensive now

This is my second cordless immersion blender. The first one I owned was great, but it died after a year. I love cordless blending. I had to find a replacement, but I'm not spending $200 again, and then I saw this B&D.Over the years, I've owned many B&D products. I admit that I kind of skipped over them and bought other brands when looking for a cordless stick blender. I should have known better. B&D has been in the cordless game for a long time, they invented the Dustbuster after all. From my experience, their tools are well-designed and high quality, and I probably never gave them enough credit for that.This B&D "Kitchen Wand" as they call it, is a good cordless immersion blender. Ergonomically, everything is well-thought-out. It's safety switch is intuitive and easy to use. You press the safety switch with your palm between your thumb and forefinger while grasping the handle, and operate the on-off switch in front with your fingertips. That's it. There's even a pause when starting up that helps you avoid messes at the start. It has some heft too due to the batteries, but it is well-balanced. To assemble, just insert the stick end to the motor and twist to the right until it clicks firmly. The non-stick blade guard nestles under the bell and is easy to take off if you don't need it. The charging cradle is convenient because you can leave the motor on it's stand continuously without fear of over charging. They claim it has up to a 30-minute run-time without re-charging, but that would depend on the load. It also comes with a 2-year warranty.Like every other immersion blender, you can run it continuously for a couple of minutes, and then you should let it cool down. I've run this blender for two minutes straight and it barely gets warm. Another nice feature is that the components seem very well sealed. I've used this with hot soups and sauces and there have been zero issues with food getting up into the wand.Update 7/8/2025: I've had it for two years now, and I've had a lot of time to fully test and use this blender. I'm still positive on it, mainly because of the durability. It's well-made and has worked even when pushed hard. That said, I have discovered an issue that I have to take a star for. The motor is powerful, but the rather small blend area within the bell keeps it from creating a "vortex" to pull food into the blades. Ingredients don't circulate as well as with other immersion blenders, and therefore it doesn't blend as well as it should, in my opinion. You have to move the blending wand up and down and around, a lot. I have other immersion blenders that you can just put the bell on the bottom or just at an angle, and pull the trigger, not the B&D. Also, it's not as good of a deal as it used to be. In two years it has doubled in price, so there may be better options. It was $40 just two years ago.The bottom line is I still keep it on my counter and use it because it's convenient and reliable. Although the blending performance could be a little better, it's been good enough for every job I've needed it for.

Powerful and super convenient

This little guy is perfect - my husband needed a replacement for his corded version (different brand,) and we usually like black and decker, so we gave it a try (plus it was on sale)So glad we did. It’s been perfect and a great addition to our kitchen.The variable speed, easy charging and dishwasher safe aspects (not base obviously,) were what really sealed the deal.Highly recommendVer más
