Snarkalicious
DO NOT READ any reviews or synopsis (synopses) on this book. There are so many fun, frustrating, shocking twists in this book, the best way to read it is like going into a haunted house where you don't know what is around the next corner. And you definitely want to go into that haunted house because it is spooky fun, just like this book. "But," you say, "How will I know if I WANT to read it?" Well, here ya go, all you need to know:1. It was written by Shannon "The Snark" Mayer. If you've read any of her books (and I hope you have) you will want to read this one.2. The dialogue is full (full!) of expletives. "F you, you F-ity F-ing F-er face!" for example. Just a warning to you if harsh language is a no go.3. So many surprising twists, you will be kept guessing as to, yep, WTF is going on.4. Quick read. The action is nonstop. You will hate to put this book down.5. So many fun characters. It's not a deep character study, but you will have so much fun you won't care.6. Some hilarious writing: "Bat those beautiful eyes at him like you’re trying to blow out a candle.”7. There is spice in this book. It is weird spice, but it is spice.8. The snark meter stays pegged out to the max throughout the book. "They were looking for a woman, and they didn’t even take into account that I was the wrong shade of blonde. You know, being raven haired as I was."9. The FMC is likable, has a good heart, and is self-sacrificing.10. The fantasy aspects of the book and the mystery are awesome.11. Inspirational: "You know, when you’re backed into a corner, it’s the little things in life that make it sweet."12. The ending is fun, if a little anticlimactic, but I think the big climax will come in the next book.TW: Violence, murder, werewolf abuse, broken families, betrayal, sex, languageReview by R. E.
