Finally, a watch I'll wear every day
I am not the kind of person that wanted a wristwatch, let alone a smart watch. I don't need that level of connectivity, and I have the unfortunate tendency to destroy nicer watches because of clumsiness and absent-mindedness. But, I do enjoy working out. I love having data when I want to see it. And, importantly, I work in a profession where I would benefit from having a wrist watch to check the time.It's with that mindset that I finally caved and purchased the Fitbit Charge a few years ago. I liked it, but it crashed a bunch of times and eventually refused to reboot. So, I started looking for alternatives. I found the Versa but resisted, as I really don't want or need most smart watch features.Then Black Friday sales came along and I took the plunge. I am glad I did.The watch is durable, easy to use, fits well, and does all of the things I want it to do. I mostly use it to track steps, heartrate, workouts, check the weather, and set timers at work. It does not have a catchy or flashy look, which I am more than fine with. My biggest concerns are whether or not the screen can take a hit (it does) and if I'll fry the darn thing when I inevitably forget I'm wearing it while showering or swimming (it's waterproof).I don't use a lot of the features on this thing. I tried syncing with my Google Wallet, but I find it way easier to just use my phone or wallet -- two things I am very reluctant to travel without. My phone is on silent most days, so I guess it's nice to get alerts when I've missed a call, but I really don't pay much attention to it. I've never bothered with the advanced features for health monitoring, though I guess for a person experiencing health difficulties or someone wildly focused on wellness would find the features useful.The Fitbit app is a nice bonus, and the premium features include some solid workouts and tools for holding yourself accountable to fitness goals. I've dabbled with these when really focused on personal goals, and seen the usual mixed results of someone who will only somewhat commit themselves to diet and workout goals. Still, nice to have.In a world where most smart watches are double the price for a slew of features I don't want or need, this is an excellent product.Ver másVer menos

Fitbit Versa 4 Can Do Almost Anything.
A major upgrade from the Versa 3. This watch has everything. I love how it includes a heart monitor. It also includes Alexa. It's a great watch, downside the battery only lasts 4 years. I love the Appearance. It includes your steeps.The accuracy seems right on.Ver másVer menos

Ignore those who say the battery doesn’t last. The issue is built up oil and skin cells in the back that can prevent a good connection. Wipe it with a cloth or I even use an alcohol prep pad to clean the contacts and it will charge just fine. I live the sleep tracking, reminder to move every hour and the free customizable watch faces.Ver másVer menos

Band failure, paranormal scratches, and a potentialscientific experiment
Aside from battery life, literally everything is terrible. The watch band even makes me angry. I’ve never had an issue with a watch band of any type…ever. It disconnects from the watch randomly and is so awkward to put on. Why get cute with the band? Just make it normal. The lack of durability of the screen, in regard to scratch resistance, is unlike anything I’ve ever encountered. I have a plethora of gigantic scratches on the face that resulted from absolutely no contact with anything abrasive. I had an Apple Watch for 5+ years. The face is unscathed. It’s as if all these deficiencies are intentional. I mean…look at the picture I attached. It looks like I braid barbed wire by hand for a living. Maybe I work at a watch scratching factory? Of course I don’t, mostly because those factories don’t exist. There is no profit to be made, sitting around, scratching your own watch for eight hours a day, but looking at that picture of my watch face makes me wonder if perhaps there is potential profit in watch scratching. I actually don’t know what any of that means. I thought I had an idea… maybe some sort of analogy with the factory, but I got lost somewhere along the way. Just look at the picture for 5-11 seconds. That takes a lot of commitment. I’m just simply not that dedicated to anything. I will say, however, it has had a vital impact on my health. My heart rate goes through the roof when I think about how I wasted $194 on this thing. Course, I can only assume my heart rate is up because the app only gives you 2-3 days of info a week because it loses connectivity with the watch constantly…for literally no reason. I mean… at least it will let you know when you lose connectivity, so you can re-sync or whatever and get it back to work. Oh wait…about that. There’s no notification that your watch and app have all all of a sudden lost connectivity. This watch buzzes all day. I take 12 steps, and there’s a pair of feet that all of a sudden appear. I push “end exercise” and it clears it up…until you take another 5 to 17 steps. I thought I could beat it by not moving for hours at a time, but then it’ll vibrate and tell you to move. I wanted a watch that would be my peer…my equal, but this watch is my supervisor. It’s the bossiest piece of tech I’ve ever had. Every time it vibrates, I think it’s my wife texting me, but no…it’s watch telling me I haven’t had a bowel movement in an hour and a half, or my menstrual cycle starts in 11 days, but I’m a dude.I really don’t know where to go from here. I honestly feel like I’m part of a scientific experiment evaluating anger patterns that stem from random vibrations and sheer, unadulterated band failure from a watch. Can somebody running the experiment at least give me my health info when the experiment is all over? I hope we get paid at least.The app is useless. I am not happy, but I don’t know if I’m healthy.

Fitbit Versa 4, loads of features/battery life shortens in 2 years
After wearing a Fitbit device on and off for a number of years, I really enjoyed this model right out of the box. I like all the new features, especially the sleep tracking component. It almost gave me more info than I was prepared to handle, and it interacts with other smart devices, like a smart scale.For two years, this device held a charge and was able to keep track of my daytime and nighttime activities for 7 - 8 full days. However, right at the two year mark, I started getting frequent messages that my batter was low - the device went from 7 - 8 days battery life to barely 2 days! I get that nothing is built to last nowadays, but the decline was not gradual. It didn't go to 6 days, or 5. It went from a week or more to barely 48 hours overnight.All that said, I do enjoy the Fitbit brand overall, and I really liked this model in particular. The frequent charging is an inconvenience compared to what I was used to, but I plan to baby it along until it goes to half the charge it is now. It does still charge very quickly - I just need to remember to pick it up off the charger when it's time to go and put it back on every other day.Once I love a brand, it's hard for me to let go. I checked out the newest Versa 4 and it's $30 more than when I purchased mine 2 years ago. I hate to have to buy it again - will try to baby mine along for at least 6 months, hopefully 12 - before I am tempted to buy a new model. Planned obsolescence is a thing, people. My first Fitbit lasted more than 3 years, easily and I had one that lasted nearly 5 years: Fitbit Versa Lite, a precursor to the Fitbit Versa 4 Fitness.Ver másVer menos

A lifesaver! In the entire Fitbit line, this is my favorite and I never want to be without!
I absolutely love my Fitbit Versa 4 and would not want to be without it. I have been wearing a Fitbit for at least the last 15 years. I appreciate that it keeps track of my steps and reminds me to walk at least once an hour. However, recently, it might’ve turned into a lifesaver for me. I woke up to an alert, that I was in atrial fibrillation during the night. I would have never known otherwise. Also, my heart was racing for about 3 1/2 days, I knew I had to take it extremely easy until my heart rate comes down.. Google Health urged me to seek medical attention. I immediately went to urgent care and they referred me to see my cardiologist as soon as possible. I did that and they found there is a problem. It is yet to be resolved, but I am on top of things, only because I have a Fitbit. So I recently bought a new one because I do not want to be without and my current one had a little bit of a crack in the case and yet, it was still functioning fine. I wear it to sleep, to swim, and shower. Never had a problem. Battery lasts for about a week. Be aware, never plug it in directly to an outlet, it should charge by attaching it to the USB port on your computer. No complaints.. . I’ve seen others with much more expensive watches, but this does it for me. Oh, I also love the fact that Amazon has so many sellers who have the interchangeable, watch bands, for much less the cost than the original Fitbit band. Back to the Versa 4, I love the large face, my boyfriend’s watch look! Very smart looking.Ver másVer menos
