Great Read!

I really enjoyed book 3 in this series watching Jake and Hannah travel their very rocky road to finding their HEA. I'm looking forward to reading book 4 in this series and will definitely recommend this book to everyone.

Wow

Lots of mystery and some that leads you to question do you really know someone enough to judge just by the outside cover and what you hear. Drugs can change you thought you knew to someone you never believed they could ever be. Unusual Topic, but a Sweet Story

I liked this book better than Book 2 (Sam). But for me, Book 1 is best in the series. I liked Mitch best even with his baggage. I want to say I liked this book. I just had issues with Jake's character. The below will include some spoilers, sorry.This brother, Jake, was harder to like. He was a good State Trooper and a caring man so far as doing community service and animals and such. But his behavior with women left alot to be desired. I have read books in this genre about "manwhores" in the past. So that was not what I found surprising and even sleazy. The kicker was when he told Hannah why he was one. It is unbelievable and actually ridiculous. I don't think some bevy of high school girls would be all over him, no matter how cute, wanting him to have sex with them and their friends. I suppose the author didn't want him to be a typical sleazebag, but have a reason for his sexcapades. I didn't buy it.As an adult, he not only pursues any woman who looks easy and takes the opportunity given with those who offer. Then, they bring back friends to him to "help" by making them feel better about themselves or a breakup? What the actual....? Just no, not believable, at least not with it happening multiple times per night at the bar he is drinking in.Luckily he seems to be pretty disgusted with himself finally at age 35 and somewhat embarrassed as he is the only single guy in his circle. He also is a bit jealous of how happy his married friends are. And what caused his epiphany? It was not loving Hannah, and it was not being truly ready to stop his promiscuous ways. Nope. He is first on scene when a guy that looks like him has died in a car wreck and has a baby in the car. I guess some guys need a true reality check. But I had to ask myself, what if the guy had not looked like Jake or had been the mother? Would he have just continued on with the hookups until he was so old he wasn't getting hit on anymore?Jake admits to crushing on Hannah, but since he doesn't want a relationship of any kind, she calls of anything romantic he goes into the friend zone. I did like how well he looked after her during her recovery. He was everything you'd want a man to be. And I guess he was finally "growing up" enough to realize he wants a family and that his past is embarrassing and likely to NOT be helpful in getting a woman to love him.Hannah is such a sweet and independent woman. I can see why he would finally fall for her. Everything turns out well and Hannah accepts Jake's apology (for lying to her about their past) and there's the HEA. Personally I think it's more of HFN, because my experience is that someone who admits to having sex with 100s of women is not going to be happy with just one for the next 50 years. I think Jake needs some of those tapes Sophie had in Book 2 and then maybe there would be a chance.I might have rated this lower, but I thought the writing and overall story was good and it deserved a 4.One last thing, this book had a free Chapter 1 about Alex which said "coming Spring 2022" and the tagline on the Amazon site says "Mitch" is Book 1 of 5, but then this is Book 3 of 3. I checked out the author's website and the 4th book (Charming Alex) is due now in Spring 2023. *sigh* I do look forward to it!Ver más

This series is so much fun to read. Just a little drama that is not overwhelming. Each book is as good as the previous one in the series.

Thoroughly Enjoyable

Jake MacDonald is as commitment phobic as they come so why is he suddenly playing caregiver to a woman who wants nothing to do with him? She's definitely put him in the friend zone. Hannah's life is finally coming together when it all falls apart because someone has it in for her. She has no memory, no livelihood and no place to live. She's taken in by a gorgeous man who assures her they're friends, nothing more. Things heat up between them and Jake is at a crossroads. Does he tell her the truth or just go with the flow? The threat against her is still out there and has yet to be fully identified. Having Hannah in his home and by his side has Jake reevaluating is life choices. He's finding that he likes having someone to come home to, someone to wake up with, someone to share his life with. It may be too late but he's got to try to convince her that she's the one he wants.Ver más

Another great book by Emily Matthews!

Loved Jake and Hannah's story. Not usually a fan of the amnesia trope, Emily Matthews does a great job with the plotline and character development. I am looking forward to Alex and Johnny's stories!!
